So I'll address the most common questions/statements. 1) Yes, it's a dogshit launch. 2) Yes it actually full no-shit straight pipe in this video. Dumps right after the rear axle. 3) Mods: cam (pretty choppy, don't know specs, 243 heads, ls6 intake, long tube headers, full 3" OR X-pipe. Basic bolt ons, nothing crazy. Dyno'd 383 whp, 345 torque.
It’s the perfect cam. I have a straight piped 04 GTO with the LS6/LS1 and it sounds gangster but not nearly this deadly with the 241 heads and baby cam

@@EdTrollington I bought mine 10 years ago with 40K miles for $3,900.00. However, it was totaled. I rebuilt 8 C5's (two ZO6's) and this was the last one, a keeper. I had to replace every body part (super cheap on Ebay) except the roof and the doors. Also had to cut the front frame off at the firewall and weld a wrecking yard one on. Now you can't tell it was ever wrecked by looking at it and drives straight and true. 70K miles now. BTW, it's super easy to make a fake ZO6 out of an FRC.

IDK about a daily but if you can find a C5 as a sidecar, it's still one hell of a machine. They're relatively inexpensive and reliable. Sure all the crappy GMC plastic in the interior is gone but the block and trans tend to hold up and have aged well. Suspension is....okay but overall, it makes a great project for the price. Personally, I like the aesthetics better than the C6.
Man I wish I still had my Z06 axle back, I miss it. It was the best sounding exhaust to me. Where are you located? I'm in market for a Z06 axle back if you're getting rid of yours

I have a 99 FRC, the lightest of all C5 models only it's torch red. That notchback roof just looks sooo much cooler than the fastback.

At the time of this video it was dumped right at the rear bumper. Went over the axle. 3"
