Hey Carlos Mercado. Thanks for checking out the video and posting your comment. I hope it helped to get your machine on track. Winter is almost over. I hope.

michaelbrooks. Thanks for watching and posting. I bought my parts from Amazon 2 years ago. The cost of things has gone crazy. Relocating the rubber strips may not work. What about cutting some heavy truck mud flaps if you can some used ones for free. It’s a bit of work but if the pieces are cut acutely it should work. Use the old pieces as templates and oversized to allow for wear. Roger

Hi Charlie G . I thought that I could improve the thrower by installing new ones. However new ones are pretty well identical to the old ones as far as wear. They really didn’t need changing. I didn’t feel like returning them so I just put them on and made the video. The new ones are about 1-5/8 inches wide. They extend beyond the steel backer plate about 1/4 of an inch on each side. If the rubber is worn to the point where you’re starting to wear the metal down that’s when I would change them. I hope this helps you make a decision. Thanks for checking out the video. Roger

I brought a snow joe electric snow shovel. Because I thought it would be easier for my boyfriend. I'm the one who been cleaning off the deck. On our last winter storm I didn't clean the deck for him. I really wasn't feeling that well. So today he didn't say anything and took the electric shovel to clean the snow he wasn't out there for more then 5 min. And he came in and said the electric shovel was working. So I went out to see, and no it's not working. I said did you pick it up to do the top layer. And he was let's just say a little upset with me.
So I took it apart to see if the belt can off. The belt looks ok. Do you have any suggestions what the problem my be with it.

Thanks for the video man. Did you by any chance measure the difference in width between the old and the new paddles? I'm curious to see if it would be worth it.

The first thing I would do is unplug the unit. Next you can grab the auger to see if you can rotate it. There may be something jammed in there so you want to check this first. If it is turning the next thing I would do while the unit is still unplugged is to remove the side plastic panel where the belt is located. Take a look at the belt and see if there is any rubbery material in the housing. If there is the belt may have been slipping and has worn down and is not making good contact anymore. With a side panel off and keeping your hands away from any moving parts, plug the unit in. Start the unit to see if the white pulley that the belt is wrapped around is turning. If the belt is rotating and the pulley is not the belt is slipping. There’s not a lot of moving parts here. Even though the belt looks good it could be stretched and slipping. If you look at my video around the 7.49 minute mark I point out where there is a bearing and a nut above it. If you loosen that nut and rotate the tensioner clockwise it should tighten the belt. Do this in stages. Start the unit after each adjustment to see if you can get the auger turning. If you fully tighten the the belt and the auger is not turning I’m pretty sure the belt has been stretched beyond repair. Also check the pulley at the motor end. Over time the belt material could build up on the motor pulley and cause it to slip. To clean it I’m thinking something like brake cleaner would work. If everything checks out and the motor is good a new belt would be required. Once installed readjust the tensioner. I hope this helps. Thanks.

Can anyone share where to buy to replacement parts. I only found on amazon and eBay for about $39. Seems crazy.
Also, perhaps someone can show HOw to extend the reach of the rubber auger parts. I'm guessing a few properly placed new holes would do the job, pushing the rubber out a bit further... NOt sure this can work.
