Nice little video. I have a Lansky sharpening system
. It’s awesome. I know I could go to buy the “edge system “ but they are £300-£400. I am not doing it professionally so the Lansky system is more than enough for what I need. It’s a really good system for beginners and value for money too. Thanks Bobby

😇a knife maker whose youtube channel is Gough Custom uses the Lansky system - has a video on how to use it. i would think i can't do much better than use what he recommends...blessings to all

A tip for you....when stropping reduce the pressure you are applying to the blade. Strop with more strokes, but with light pressure. You should see and improvement to your edge. Thanks!

Around 4:40 is the incorrect use of the screws. The flathead/phillips need only be fingernail tight, it is by tightening the plastic knobbed screw that you actually clamp the blade. Also strokes with any pressure applied should be made toward the blade, not back and forth 🙂

Thank you for that advice. Strange, but you've got me looking forward to the next time I sharpen a knife.

Weird I've been doing up and down motion from left too right and have got insane hair popping results

Forget the paper. I want to see some hair splitting.

😊That would be a 17 degree sharpen and a lot more practice on my part.

On mine the riser on the support base kept getting lose and made the whole device get wobbly. This was probably due to inferior threading on the two parts and I call it junk from Chyna. So if you want more stability when your trying to get rid of your blunts cover the whole area with a bunch of blue Loctite and the problem is solved.

It does wobble a lot. I should have mentioned the wobble in my video as it is an annoyance . I use a lock washer as I remove the base from the pole when I'm not sharpening knives. Cheers and thanks for a tip. I probably wouldn't have thought of Loctite even though it's something I always have on hand.
