If I went through the effort to do this job I probably would have replaced those hoses and clamps. At the very least I would have cleaned and conditioned them with some silicone spray. Also, why no lube on the bigger hoses? That stuff will help act as a sealant!
Thanks for your comments. It enriches the channel. Yes, I would do the same thing now that you mentioned it. I must mention that I’m not a mechanic, just a mechanical engineer that enjoys learning and doing things myself. This is why I have my disclaimer in every video! As the channel evolves, I’m going to start asking for recommendations in the comments on how to do things better. And your comment is one that is aligned with that. Thanks so much! I hope you are subscribed to the channel. If not, it will mean a lot if you subscribe. More content coming soon…
@@porscheDIY No problem! I can respect anyone willing to work on their own stuff. Silicone spray is secret stuff. Use it on your garage springs and dress your tires (or any rubber) after a good cleaning.
@@YoshiV819 I do have silicone lubricant in spray… and use it everywhere, especially in suspension parts (eliminates squeaks)… I just didn’t use it for the application you described, and it is a good idea.
This upgrade was solid when I did it initially. It still feels very good after tune. This was really a good mod overall. I feel direct power transfer… but that’s what I feel (no data to support that).
I went with 034 due to the cost honestly. They are piston type valves, same as Flat6. I didn’t like how they felt, especially after the tuning, they tend to chirp loudly. Since then, I removed them and installed APR R1 diverter valves which are diaphragm valves just like OEM. Working much better.
@@ifbbprojonathan3711 Yes, they will work on Macan. The Macan and Audi Q5 share same platform on this. However, I since moved to APR R1 diverter valves. 034 is piston type DV and they are more noisy… APR R1 are diaphragm, same as OEM but more robust. Less noisy… Installation is the same. Depending on what you like. Thanks for watching and subscribe to the channel if you haven’t done so.
@ another question, is it ideal or practical to install a BLOW OFF VALVE?? I miss the that sound and love that sound? Will that even work and if so, which would you recommend??
The valves are better than OEM especially if you are running an engine ECU tuning. They hold higher boost. However, since these are piston, they were making a loud chirping noise at release. I replaced these 034 diverter valves with the APR valves, which are high performance diaphragm valves. Much better. I still need to edit and publish video on that one.
Holds boost pressure at WOT better than OEM diverter valves. These are more robust than OEM. This is especially true when you have installed a stage 1 ECU tuning or higher. If you don’t have a tuned ECU then OEM diverter valves are enough. There are some that claim that OEM diverter valves are enough even with a ECU tuning. I think they make a difference.
Great video again m! It’s always nice to see the hard work that goes into these videos!
Good man

How was this upgrade pre and post tune?

Flat6 and other manufacturers also sell a diverter valves. Any reason you went with the 034 instead?

I opened the link and it’s not for Porsche Macan S it’s for VW .. will this work for my MacanS?? And how many will I need ..2?

is the chirp gone with the APRs?@@porscheDIY
@@usfpaul82 No when you have stage 1 tuning, but it is not as loud and abrupt with APR.
