Amy Mags - I've seen them around 30 times since 1981. Never anywhere near rows 1-4. Closest I've sat is row 12 (played in the gym) when I saw them in college in 1983. Saw 3 shows at Madison Square Garden for the Vertigo Tour back in '05 and they opened with this song each time. I swear when they hit the chorus the crowd exploded and it sounded like a jet plane inside the Garden. Yes, how can you not be swept away?
So, I have been a dedicated fan of this band for the last 17 years now. Back in 2007, I moved to Italy for a traineeship and my girlfriend (now wife) gave me the DVD of this show as a present. I watched it on a loop for the months to come. Now, after all these years, this show opener is the best one I have ever seen. It's magical, flawless and energetic beyond level.

I was at this concert. Bono came out before & said that they would be filming this show for the dvd release especially since it was his birthday. I went w/ my ex gf who liked to go get her fill w/ other dudes. Met my future wife 6 months later, started dating & got married a couple years later. This song was the entrance song to our wedding in 2010 & then we had 3 kids who are all Irish American Catholics like their Da (99% according to ancestry) & Ma. Still the greatest intro song in concert music history. I’ll wait for somebody to try & name one better....
