No Live chat replay? :(
Yeah, I just saw that. It's because (and I didn't know this because YT buries this helpful info for all of us) if you trim/edit your live stream in the YT editor after the live stream ends), it removes the ability to display chat comments. I had edited this video to remove the long 'standing by' intro and that's what caused it. Annoying, but there's no way I can enable it as they removed my ability to turn it on.
X-Pro4 please.....🙏
Congratulations Chris on your 25 Anniversary and many more years. I enjoy watching your videos. I wish you all the best. Fernando
A quick word to say the Film simulation dial is not customisable yet
I watched live from my bed as was super early in the UK
What Fuji and you mentioned about film simulations the 4th part of the exposure.. sort of makes sense.. not from an exposure pov. Although the film simulation does change the shadows and highlights etc so a slightly different exposure may be needed from 1 film simulation to the next.
How a photo looks can be decided by how the colours look too.
Generally I use a film simulation as my starting point for editing.
I decide how I want the colours to look - Film simulation
I decide how much depth of field I want - Aperture
I decide how much motion I want - Shutter speed
I don't want noise so an ISO as low as possible but as high that is needed (but since I work mostly in studio, I can generally add or takeaway lights as needed)
So for Fuji, the colour science and film simulations are what separates them from all the others, so I can understand Fuji wanting to have a dial that emphasises the importance that Fuji place on the film simulations and want that to be what people think of when choosing Fujifilm other other brands.
Personally I don't change the film simulation for ever photo. but I do change it for different sets, granted an ISO dial is useful too (probably more so), but again that is normally locked in and not changed that often.
On my X-100VI I changed the command dial from digital zoom to film simulators, and quite like it not in a menu
Started watching the live stream, but had to get the kids ready for school. Greetings from Germany
impeccable acting scenes
Greetings from Sydney, Chris. Happy anniversary! My wife and I celebrated thirty-five years married, last month 😬
congrats on 25!!!
Happy Anniversary! 🎉
Hi from England.....👋👋👋👋
The fourth side of the exposure triangle!
Gfx users will love that lense
Check the alignment on that 90mm? What's your opinion on pricing for the X-T50? Too close to the X-T5?
xs-20 seems to be better in real live than xt-50, because has better battery and the same water sealing capability :(
X-t50 is bigger and heavier than x-t30. The camera is toooo expensive. With this in mind I will go for x-t30 II.
Just go for a used X-T3. I did it and I'm loving it. Find one with low shutter count and you won't regret it. The only con I have about this camera is its battery. you need to buy a couple of extra, because it drains way too fast. Other than that, for a 2018 camera, it's just fantastic.
I'll take the bullet here and be Mr. Negative. It is really hard to get excited about anything Fujifilm announces anymore given their dismal ability to actually deliver product beyond the initial release quantity. My plan WAS to replace my X-T4 with the X-T6 I expect to be announced in 2025, but I have resigned myself that that will be an exercise in futility. My days with Fuji may be over. 😭
BTW, I have never heard of a 4-sided triangle. I think thinking of film simulations as a part of the exposure triangle is just hopeless marketing nonsense.
I love the updated GFX camera…but the Fuji presenters…still not natural presenters
Film simulation dial is terrible and proof that the higher ups in Fujifilm are absolutely out of touch
yeah wtf..
the next step of the exposure triangle is film sim lol.. i love these guys but their japanese humuor is really not working well..
and if they are really that serious about the film simulation, how about showing film/analogue community some love?
