  • Angie Dickinson's film and TV career has been a half-century-long master class in the art of seduction. Mo Rocca talked with the star of the '70s hit "Police Woman," and such films as "Rio Bravo" and "Dressed to Kill" about becoming an inspiration for aspiring policewomen, her relationships with such stars as Frank Sinatra and Burt Bacharach, and the #MeToo movement.

I love all these interviews with my favorite 70s stars. At my age (49), most of my childhood memories of these stars are dear to my heart and it is very heartbreaking to see all of them passing away. I loved the 70s movies and tv shows. Angie Dickinson still is first-rate! She still looks fabulous!

She looks like she may not have ever had any work done on her face? Good for her! Or else, if she's had work, it's been very minor, and clearly very well done. But what I like is that she LOOKS her age...and she doesn't look 'strange' or alien-like.

A class act! Doesn’t tell secrets, doesn’t make her daughter’s problems and suicide all about her own loss, and unapologetically states her beliefs. To succeed in show business when she did, a woman probably had to overlook some boorish behavior, lay down the law as to what she wouldn’t tolerate, and be tough as nails. She was smart enough to do it. Dolly Parton basically says the same thing: I never slept with anybody I didn’t want to sleep with, knew how to laugh off the come-ons without being rude or letting them think there was a chance, and if they thought I was dumb I’d let them until I was out the door with the money.

Triple Threat She had a ground breaking role in the 1970's show "Police Woman". Many credit that show as the kick start that started the permanent growth of Woman joining the Police Force across America and even the world. Might have even influenced "Charlie Angel's" as well which debuted about a year or two later on TV. Some "Police Woman" episodes is on here on UA-cam if you care to watch. Keep in mind Triple that some of the episodes might be cheesy for today's entertainment standards but it was a smash hit and very cutting edge for the Mid 1970's.

Thank you. I agree. And whenever Police Woman is discussed, Angie’s “ Pepper Anderson” character is considered less than compared to female police officers/detectives/super hero characters that came AFTER her. I am often questioning if these people actually WATCHED that same show that I did (and still do as I have all 4 seasons on DVD). Pepper was quite leading in many ways. She wasn’t just a pretty face. She was smart. Pepper often figured out clues that ended up leading to the solution of the cases the team was on. I felt cheated that we didn’t get at least a 5th season of the series actually because of the growth in the character (as a cop) that I saw in the 4th season.

Amazing how beautiful she remains inside and out. Absolute class act! Today’s show biz actors could learn from her. Character, beauty, integrity stand the test of time. Great interview. Thank you

What is so beautiful about her is that I believe she truly lived for love and for caring about others. Lovely to listen to her share her life.

I had the honor of meeting Angie Dickinson 3 years ago at a convention and she could not have been kinder, lovelier or more open/down to earth w/ me. All those qualities shone just as brightly in this interview/profile.

I met her at an autograph show in Hollywood about 9 years ago. She was as kind and generous with her time as I could ever have hoped she'd be. Curious about who her fans were. A wonderful person. I'm happy to see she's still doing so well.

I was not a big fan of Angie in her films and wondered why the big stars adored her. Now I know why. What an utterly amazing woman. Profound - A real dame. Amazing woman.

What a interview! I would have loved to watch them play cards, and listen the conversation for hours. Its better to speak your mind, then allow others dictate your truth. May God bless her.

Wow, a beautiful woman, that was a major sex simbol of her era and a important actress that survived the super macho era of the 50's, 60's, 70's that was also married to one, says the me too is out of proportion, one has to really wonder where that movement came from and is going to.

Not what I expected to hear from her on the #metoo . Especially since Hollywood is known for the Directors Couch. But her experiences are hers & I wish her well.
