Such a profound statement, "I hated my father. But I loved him more than I hated him". I think many of us can relate to this. I shed some tears myself when Kim made that statement.

I knew Kim in Chicago. I am 86 years old and my maiden name was Donna Cortez and Kim was Mickey then.
We both modeled and attended Wright Junior College and were sorority sisters in ABM. She was,and still is,
absolutely stunningly beautiful!!!! I went on to become a stewardess and Kim went on to become a super star.
She looks very happy in her current role and is very talented. She was an animal lover way back then. I seem to
recall her carrying around her cat Pie (sp?) in the hat box all models carried then.

I don’t know what high school she went to. I was on the cover of Wright’s pamphlet, along with a young man,
during that time. If you went to Wright then you probably heard of the ABM sorority. Kim and I both modeled
for Patricia Stevens and Models Bureau. The last time I saw her was at The Chez Paree night club. She was
there with her Mom. That was over 60 years ago.

It's a shame that she felt the need to attempt to conform to the Hollywood expectations of eternal youth and beauty, but in the end, for whatever reasons, she chose to have the work done and she is paying the price for it. It is frankly painful to look at her frozen, expressionless face or to listen to her voice, restrained by the overwrought manipulation of her bloated cheeks and lips. I am not criticizing her nor do I "feel sorry" for her-I am in no position to judge her or pity her. No one is. But it is a sad story and I hope she is genuinely happy and at peace. My wife works in the derm/plastic surgery industry in Los Angeles. She has seen all the big movie stars, and knows all the doctors who perform work. Not too long after that broadcast she met Ms. Novak at a function in LA, and said she looked absolutely fine, as you see in this video. So whatever that botch job was, she got it fixed right after that, or the swelling/fill went down. She said she was very nice.

You allowed me to buy you a beer at The Warehouse in Monterey on Cannery Row in the mid 60's. I'm 11 years your junior, you were stunning, even in dungarees. I happened to catch you on your way back to Big Sur; you won't remember, but I sure do. At that time I was studying Russian at The Presidio of Monterey.

A beautiful soul. I wish her continued freedom from all those who simply do not get it. I adore her in all of her movies. It was beyond her true physical beauty, it was a wonderment to watch her act. The pain her father created was harsh but it is with grace that she has lifted herself above his cruelness. He is gone, she remains as a survivor. She beat it back. Good for her.

I’m 56 now and I adore watching old movies from before my time. I got involved in the film business and found out how ruthless it really is. Kim Novak along with all the others are a byproduct of the fantastical fantasy movie factory. She was a beautiful woman in her younger life as we all wore when we were younger, but because of fame and constant pressure from Hollywood many stars tragically turn to desperate measures. Good for her for leaving Hollywood in 1966 and good for her for being a good sport about everything. If you’re reading this Kim, I love all the work you have done and I think you’re doing the right thing for yourself and family, God bless you! and enjoy the rest of this journey and be in peace.
