engine dj is really underrated!
I've been deejaying for over a decade. I just recently got the Prime Go and the amount of features it packs... it's impressive.. like really impressive. I come from a Pioneer background with Serato DJ. I've also used Traktor and deejayed off USB sticks with Numark and Gemini (lol way back in the beginning) and I still can't believe these amazing updates. Like, wow, the added playlist view, right next to my current wave form mix is really a nice touch. Just waiting for those Stems 😅

I'm guessing you were running a pre-release (or maybe beta) version for this video because the expanded playlist view actually shows the waveforms in the official release (with cue points etc) which makes way more sense than expanding to a blank space. 👍

Engine 4.0 is a great update. However, I still miss being able to give or withdraw a star rating "on the flight". I can do that on the PC version, but I would greatly appreciate it if this function could also be entered on the Denon Prime 4.
Yeah rating on console would be great. Also a way of showing tracks which were previously mixed with the track currently running (with rating) would be a great idea. Sometimes you find a great sounding combo while mixing and it would be really awesome to have that pair saved somehow

Denon how about some smooth echo and updated FX on the X1850 please. If you're feeling super nice maybe the ability to edit rating stars on the fly from the media players.
Glad i went for the Prime 4+! Denon coming up with the goods.
I love the fact they add all these features as I own the sc live 4.
But one thing I would like to see on all branded units is the ability to change from bpm to pitch scale on the display.
As this will give people the opportunity to mix by ear without having to look at the bpm.
That will improve the skill of the people that have only ever used digital which tells them the bpm so they already know what to set the next track at. As that partially takes away the original skill of beat matching.
(Before keyboard warriors start, I am not degrading any of the features on all the modern units) I would just like to see the opportunity for people to be able to mix with scale if they want to practice that.
Awesome how many features get added with every major update, the only things keeping me from fully switching to denon is a missing track-color option, and no full RGB waveforms

The update is super except for one thing - the panel with Loop & Сue was lowered down - this is very inconvenient! It was great when the panel was under the wave of the track.
We’ve got a lofty wishlist - aside from stems I’d really like to have some kind of live sampler mode: let me take a cue point or loop and assign it as a sample for triggering throughout a set even if that track isn’t loaded anymore. Triggering those samples as gated or latched/looping would allow us to build layered elements with other songs rather than one shots. Ideally samples would have the option to sync as well

Is there any adjustment of the jogs to make them longer in the backspin? Any adjustments to the seila screen?
Stems update. That’s what would set engine DJ apart from pioneer all in ones. Also have stems on all stand alone controllers.

We want a better way to set up auto mix, been able to set start and end points just like Traktor.

I love the update for my sc live 4 but I think we could still have the options where we can take vocals out bass or have just just vocals or instrumental on the fx pads

Thanks for a great video update!! I was wondering, is there a way to tag lets say 10 or more FAVOURITE playlists or folders in one place? I find it so annoying to have to go back and forth between playlists to find the playlist I'm looking for. For example - I'm playing from a pre-prepared playlist then someone ask for another track (not in my playlist) which means I need to go out and follow the tree to find the playlist where the song could be and then have to renavigate back to the playlist I was playing from. It would make things mush more efficient to have a FAVOURITES list that we can prepare before a gig.
Creating playlists on the devices while playing is something I've been waiting for ages! I got all my music internally on the Prime 4 but have to use the laptop to make playlists...

@@prettymigzuyes you can. It's slightly cumbersome and complicated to do it on the device though. Using a connected computer is way faster

@@djphilter they are still working on it but they want to ensure they have it right before releasing it to the public. As you’ve likely seen, the other brands have released half finished products to the market.
@@djstuc Yeah, Pioneer botched it but Serato seems pretty good. I've been using the FLX-10 with Serato and I love it. Can't wait for it on Engine OS!
@@djphilter it’s ‘pretty good’ but far from a finished product, lots of artefacts, volume spikes etc. Djay Pro does a half decent job but again needs plenty of work.
What’s the point in InMusic doing the same? So people can flock to the UA-cam comments to slate them for not being good enough, it’s a no win situation. They are using their Akai brand and music production experts to perfect the algorithm, I’m guessing the tech will be ported across from that once they suss it out.
No change to Denon Prime Go layout options - I want the library shown with the waveform - that's the best thing by far for this update
Please add a no waveform option so I can better train on beat matching 🙏🏼, if you don’t want to redesign the ui to have bigger decks I’ll’be happy also whit a larger browser anything to cover the waveform, still 4 big deck and no waveform would be a dream, other than that the last update is amazing
by any chance has this update messed with your EQ sound? i feel like its no longer the same effect when used

- More zoom out in the Waveform

Offline locker downloads require the top beatport streaming subscription (Professional) which I believe is $29.99/month and includes up to 1000 offline downloads.
@@drwmediaI think he is asking if we can download music from Beatport for offline usage. This was not possible before even with the expensive package. Engine DJ needed to make updates to SW to allow offline storage
It looks so slow to respond to screen touch. The amount of times you had to tap two or three times added to the headache it induced in me. I couldn't imagine ever doing a live performance with that sluggish response time

I would like a track logger. Give me a list of everything I played that session or until I clear it. I take requests and sometimes don’t remember what I played that night. I can go back and look, maybe even option to use log to make a new playlist.
The "track logger".... is actually called "history" & it's available from the moment you start playing, logging every single track you play.
🔥🔥🔥If we have two decks(2 sc5000’s) one song playing on each deck; why can’t we see the opposite track on the other deck while you have a stacked waveform just like on the CDJ 3000’s
I love to not have this feature myself. Forced to listen and adjust tol it somund bang on.
I have SC6000m's and figured with all the sweet new layout options that they'd included stacking waveforms for those who are using just two decks on the SC series. Unfortunately it looks like we're still stuck with singles unless running dual layers on each deck.
Maybe one day in the non too distant future we'll get this one on an update.
@@drwmedia I don't know, Just looked at Mojax review and he clearly has stacked waveforms on the screen of motorized 6000 player.
Just layout then view I think to set which way you want it.

Having used the software update on a PRIME 4 unit last night I am massively disappointed. The work flow is so much worse, it has some big issues with loading playlists and the beat grids seem to be laggy/incorrect.

I've yet to test it again, but one of the annoying thing with Engine OS is when you are using a rekordbox USB library, and filtering by BPM, when you load a song, it automatically moves the song to 120BPM until it finishes analysing it. This means you may get "teleported" very far from where you were.
I'd like that they assume the Rekordbox BPM, and then change it if it was wrong. Because right now you are "stuck" with the song highlighted until it returns to the correct BPM position
There’s an easy solution to that.
@@djstuc Which is?? And using the Denon Engine through my collection is not a solution, as I don't want to maintain 2 databases + 2 usb sticks...
@@WUreta that’s a you problem then isn’t it. InMusic aren’t going to waste their energy and resources on catering to people who want to use a rival brand software to organise their library, why should they?
very useful, next time keep this boot-licking opinion to yourself. If they provide a way to read rekordbox db's, then it's a legitimate way of using the product. Asking for tracks to not move around is not asking for feature parity in terms of DB reading

Still the same old basic BPM resolution? It's just a basic upgrade the computer software installation engine has & all DJ software worth its salt has. 128.86 BPM for example. Not just 128.8 BPM!

Ima talk my shit. This new update is ugly and garbage now my waveforms dont go all the way to the bottom when running vertical. Honestly hate it.
To add fx sepect beats feedback frequency for both decks appear on the bottom now making my waveforms smaller
