Fleas are the worst thing to deal with as a pet parent. The flea drops are very effective at killing the fleas along with treating the home. Fleas prefer to live in the soft furnishings in the house. The little blood sucking fleas can cause so many problems and severe infestation can kill small kittens. Some cats can have an allergy to fleas and start loosing patches or thinning fur. Sometimes I have to admit that the use of chemicals in the war against fleas and it can very much seem like a war.
The flea combing helps monitor how many fleas are in the house. Flea combs or headlice combs work. The best comb I have is for headlice but it works because the metal teeth are so close together and it pulls the fleas off as they get stuck in the teeth a bowl of hot soapy water to clean the comb off and then dry with paper towels if needed. The comb being wet may make it easier to comb the fur.
The white socks are a great way to see what is going on and if some areas have a worse amount of fleas. The laundry will mount up whilst you try kill off the fleas.

Let's all take some time to appreciate all the work and experimentation that LF is doing, documenting, and posting, to educate about what does and doesn't work for fleas (and ants !!). Plus all the other info in the videos about feral cats, feeding cats, and other subjects. As well as all the work that goes into daily feeding, brushing, cleaning, and vet trips for four, and now _eleven,_ cats.
_And she is doing all of this while still having a life and work beyond cats and UA-cam._ All this put together, is so much more than some people could handle (I know *I couldn't).*

I'm going threw the exact same thing only with 4 cats,& im going crazy.I admire every single part of this amazing woman! And im pretty much doing everything she is trying.This has bin the hardest yr,my cats have never had fleas till this yr.Its never ending days of cleaning kitties and house.Cnt wait till it's over.
The dehumidifiers break the flea cycle. It is extremely important to keep the humidity below 45% to do that. They need to run as long as you continue to see adult fleas which could be anywhere from 2 weeks to 4 weeks on average.

My mom used to sprinkle salt around the carpet to kill off the larva. I also have a room dehumidifier, which gives off a lot of heat making me rarely use it. But for fleas, that would be great. Just vacuuming every inch of space on the floor every day is what worked best for me. And that was in a fully carpeted room with the floor being covered with lots of little baby fleas because I had a new feral cat quarantined in there. I couldn't even touch him to put the flea med on him. Had to use an edible version.

I’ve been absent for a long time. My husband of 30 years passed away three weeks ago today. I was hoping to see some of the OG Boo Crew in the comments. I really hope you win the battle with the fleas. You appear to be attacking it from a lot of angles. Have you tried spraying the rugs with insect killer? The one I use is Raid Botanicals which includes a 100% natural plant extract (pyrethrin). You might also research electronic plug in bug zappers, there are some that say they kill fleas. You're doing so well to stay calm (at least outwardly) through all this. Cheering for you and your 11 cat crew.
…For sticky, gummy residue from stickers or whatever, a microfiber towel with a few drops of lemon essential oil will take it off. It smells nice as well. 🍋 😁🐈🐾🌼 Sometimes you may need to dab the oil on the sticker and let it sit for a bit to loosen it first.
…For sc@bs on myself, dogs, and cats, …I put coconut oil (I keep it in a small clear squeeze bottle that I can put in a coffee cup of hot water to keep it melted) …so I put a few drops into a water bottle or soda bottle lid/top/cap and have that in my hand and dip my finger into the coconut oil, and dab it on the sc@b, and it takes away the dry itchiness and helps it heal nicely. I am very fair skinned and it helps the redness as well. It’s worth a try for sweet Boo boy’s neck itches. 😁🌴 🥥 🐈⬛ 🐾🖤
It was cute that Ziggy wanted more brushing and laid there watching you brunch Nancy, also it was weird seeing Sammy under the trampoline, we are usually used to only seeing Splash there,lol Ziggy needs to teach her sister Goldie that pets and brushing is awesome.

They are baby Squirrels. I had a mother who had babies on my window sill next to air conditioner, and that is what they looked like. I thought they were weird sounding birds. Then realized what they were. They sound squeaky. Mother left them and never returned may have got hit by a car.

Ms. Feral, I take my hat off to you. If I had 11 cats with fleas I would just sit down and cry. You have been so patient and diligent with the cat’s flea problems. I am amazed at how great you take care of your cats and kittens. If the topical flea medicine doesn’t work out for you…. they now make a prescription pill flea medication. This is what I use for my dog and I would think they would have one for cats. ❤. PS ….. if a cat swallows a flea infected with a tapeworm larvae the cat will get a tapeworm. Since they had a lot of fleas you might want to check with your vet to see if the cats should be treated for tapeworms. PSS…… Running the AC will also lower the humidity in the house. I hope this info will be of some help.

the tiny specks are "flea dirt" or feces, falling out of your cats' fur. they are mostly dry blood, and will turn red if you dampen them.

I saw a waterless fleas shampoo that was plant based if that’s an option. You’re right about the flea drops we use Senergy it’s a prescription, and they are all pretty pricey especially when you’re paying like $50-$60 for 3 doses and need 12 doses. Kudos to you for getting on the cats bc our cats go bananas when I try to put it on them! I also read that catnip & mint are flea deterrents, if true that would be great! I wonder if the spray would work like the plant? Hope all goes well, and as always you do an amazing job with all of them !

She uses salt and baking soda as well as very small doses of minced garlic in their food. I used to give garlic to my dogs to keep down the fleas and it worked. However, I have no experience with cats and garlic. Her cite has many other videos which she lists as well as the name of a holistic vet. Good luck to you and your cats in the future.

Oh my gosh, then you should probably go to the vet, who will recommend a shampoo, a solution or diverse sprays, that you can be applied of the cat's fur.
There is also a means, like a kind of pen.

Just out of curiosity how to the fully indoor cats got flee .I also have one more question I support a foster in india where recently rescued cats got neutered ,they all r adult cats age ranging 1.5 years to 9 . Once noticeable thing after the neutering all male cats loosing hairs a big time but not the female cats is the normal to loose far like that after neutering specially male ?

They look like little mice still too young to be out and about on their own. I raised one once that was laying outside on his own at 7-10 days old. Dunno if Mom was moving him when something caught her or what. The most difficult critter I ever raised though. Just because he was so tiny. Had him for a couple of years. He lived in 4 hamster cages all connected together and he only liked me. Maybe the mother of these little ones disappeared and they're hungry/thirsty enough to go look for food or something.?
I've also used the all white clothing idea to keep track of fleas that get on me.
And vacuuming does help immensely!
