@AmanManzir You definitely seem to be passionate and meant to be a Content Creator. Would it help for you to have a SW engineering project that you work on at your own pace for something you care about, not working for anyone or to make it a successful business. Because your business is the content creation and podcast, but this can be like the relaxing thing you do when u need a break (like u say in one of your videos how you switched from gaming to coding). Otherwise as time passes those coding skills will fade months will soon become years
Dude, the alchemist is really good, when I read it, I also had the realization that my phone, largely social media platforms, were taking over parts of my life that could be used for my passion to learn computer science and family time! Good luck, you got this!
Hi Aman, As I was getting ready to join our meeting for today, I saw that you published a new video and decided to give it a check. The way you feel about Ali Abdaal is the same way I feel towards you. I really respect you and have a great appreciation for the work you do and the talent you have. I wish you the best in this journey. I can see the passion you have for making content, and even though I am no one relevant, I can tell your channel is going to grow a lot soon. I am happy to be in some form part of this journey. You are truly an inspiration for us future software engineers. Thank you for being awesome.
It’s always crazy to watch UA-camrs grow. I think your insights were on point. My intuition tells me you’re definitely going to make it big, it won’t be easy but you’ve gained a new supporter, excited to see your channel grow, wishing you the best of luck. 🎉
i think you should commit to youtube for the next 1-2 years as you said. UA-cam suggested your “Computer science is not software engineering” video to me, and i clicked because i genuinely thought theyre similar and im entering college next month (my first year of college) as a computer scientist. I was shocked by the values you were putting in the videos - with your general knowledge. Thats when i immediately subscribed and started looking forward to making more research about my career as well as watch your informative videos. My point is that im certainly not alone in this new route. Youll definitely attract more newbies to your channel. Good luck
Every video changes this guys life now your gonna start selling courses which is easy than solving daily programming company problems stop this my passion BS just say this i wanna make quick easy bucks.
Great story. I respect your choice. I've also read two of the three books you read during your tech detox. Best of luck to you in all of your future endeavors.
Thank you for this video! I am a PTYA student and heard your questions there. I am in the same boat as you are, may be we can connect and help each other in this journey?
Best of luck bro! With the quality of your videos, your goal is totally achievable! I’ve been listening to the book you recommended and it has been very eye-opening so far
Awesome Bro 👌. Loved this decision and proud of you 👏. I too felt long time back , you are so talented and something big you need to achieve in your life than "Software engineering". You are immensely talented in below - having a engaging speaking with confidence - the way you explain concept and talks to audience. Its mind blowing. - Also you are very young. Right decision according to me at the right time and All the best for your future 😊
I heard you say hundreds of thousands of subscribers and was like "what?" And had to go check your sub count. I could have sworn you had multiple 100ks of subs. Crazy, your videos are so good. You might have said this, but are you staying in the software niche or are you changing things up?
Without having a bunch of money saved up it was a bad idea to quit the job. UA-cam is a hard business and they have also canceled people on a whim. So it's just asking to be able to fail.
This video does not have enough likes! I read the alchemist and thought the same, I stepped out of where I was, I was comfortable but there was soo much I wanted to experience, I knew I needed to challenge myself even if that meant to everybody else I was "stepping backwards". Life is too short to leave on auto pilot. It's totally ok to drop out of school, work, family and friends so u can explore where your ambitions can take you. :)
Courageous move on your part Aman, proud of you and wish you the best. I first found you through your interview with your bro which was a really interesting listen. Curious to hear how you think you'll continue to relate to your audience of software engineers when you are not actively working in the industry? Do you think your content may change over time?
Yo amazing videos keep it up man. Can you make a video going over different comp sci career paths. I'm a senior in hs about to graduate and was thinking to become a SWE but in the last few weeks have been changing my mind. I was thinking something like ai/ml (yes I know its hard and a lot of work). Anyway great video dude keep it up.
I liked the honest thinking process. I'm in the simliart situation, although it is not youtube. I feel like Im gonna hit that mark where "Okay this is it" but we'll see.
@AmanManzir You definitely seem to be passionate and meant to be a Content Creator. Otherwise as time passes those coding skills will fade months will soon become years
For me software engineering is amazing, although stressful and requires a lot of commitment outside of work. For me video editing is boring, and I can't talk in an interesting way. I would rather program. However I hate corporate environments, and I don't want the 9 to 5 lifestyle. So I am a startup programmer/freelancer in web3.
@@AmanManazir And good luck with the future of your UA-cam channel! I'm really excited to see where this takes off. It's a huge blessing to also have that safety net from your parents. I'm glad that your family is supporting your journey and at some point, you'll be at a million before you know it :D
👏 What an inspiring journey! It's incredible to see how you embraced self-improvement and entrepreneurship while juggling a full-time job. Quitting to pursue UA-cam full-time is a bold move that paid off - a testament to the power of dedication and strategic growth. Keep shining, and congratulations on reaching over 1 million subscribers! 🚀🎉
Listen to Acharya Prashant! He is a Board Topper, cracked the 3 most difficult exams in India -> JEE(IIT Delhi), CAT(MBA from IIM Ahmedabad), Civil Services. Also a Fast bowler, Writer(150+ books), Poet, TEDx speaker,Climate Activist, fights for Animal and Women Rights. He has read more than 3000+ books that includes almost most of the highest literature of the world. He speaks in almost all the top institutes of India(IITs,IIMs, AIIMS etc..) and answers any questions fired at him without preperation.
Hey, my name is khaled. i wanna say that i always didnt fit in anything and never had a hobby that I really enjoyed. Until I found your channel, you really inspired me and I started learning coding and watch informative video as a 15 year old in grade 10. I also started dual enrollment at a community college and I am determined get an AA then go to a university to get a Bachelors degree in CS. I hope that one day when I graduate, I will be able to find you and tell you that you are the reason I started!! One day we might even work together.
As a fellow SWE youtuber, I absolutely love this video! Kudos to you for investing on yourself. Would love to do a collab interview with you some time :)
Dude, congrats on taking this important step for your life. But sadly your math is wrong... And as a smart guy that you are, you shou've already known that. You're gonna achieve 100k subs much sooner than march 25th Keep it up ma man 🙌
No Aman. The Shepard can go back to his job, but a software engineer will struggle to go back if he has a huge gap in his resume where he didn’t stay active and up to date as a dev. It is a high paying and competitive industry and the applicants who get the job, don’t take breaks.
I wish you the best, but subscribers don't mean much. Your average view count does. I have been watching your videos for weeks and still haven't subbed. I watch what pops up on my suggestion page.
all this for appsumo link???!!!??? good luck with being easily influenced on social media and paying $5k for some useless course. imagine if you are so excited to pay someone $5k for some crap that you could fine for free online. anyways not to sound negative but damn man. and for the last time good luck.

I just quit a toxic job today that needed us working and thinking 24/7. Very apt timing 😊
Do u mind telling ur job role at that company
If u want such jobs to vanish...then share their name and role
We need peace man

loved your story, just subscribed. best of luck to you bro, from a fellow 2023 grad
Bro Gary Vee has been exposed as a scammer. The rest of the names you mentioned are great but I would steer clear of this guy.
You need to be able to differtiate the good and bad parts of people's advice. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water as they say
Do not fall into it.
If u wanna be a software engineer just be it. Do not listen to anybody
