      3. contribute to open source software.

In what world is doing projects outdated? Your projects are your experience. They tell people that you're worth a damn and that you have some inkling that you're intelligent and know what you're doing. Then they might give you a chance, and then you get work experience.

Don't agree with everything in this video. You shouldn't want an internship just to "make your friends jealous" and you shouldn't feel like shit just because you got an internship at a non FANG company and your friends did. Nothing wrong with getting inspired by others but you should not look down on yourself.

I get rejected hours after applying and ever get anyway. It’s really depressing.

Brother, please tell me if I need to be an expert in tech and am mainly interested in cybersecurity, AI, and robotics, what major should I choose? My plan is to get a bachelor's degree in CS and a master's degree in AI, robotics, and cybersecurity. I am planning to get a dual MS. Is this a good choice? My passion since my teens has been to start a tech startup like Google or Meta. I just turned twenty on June 2nd. So, please guide me because I am in a big confusion about picking the best undergraduate degree for my passion and dream. Please help me, and whoever reads this comment, please share your personal thoughts. It would be a life-changing reply and help. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure how much have a double major of the same degree with different specialties matters (if that's what your implying) but you need to pick something you find interesting while also planning for the future. If all 3 of those are your interests then that is good because you have 3 options to pick from that you will enjoy learning about. Moreover, just because you are interested in something doesn't mean it needs to become your career you can still learn about it/build in your free time. If your dream is to create your own company you can still do that there's nothing holding you back from it. If you have a good startup idea and experience programming that is what matters for creating a company. However, if you know more about one topic, for example AI, you would have an easier time basing your startup around such topic. And remember a degree is not experience, it is education.

Sure with saturation comes lots of lacking talent but having to do these things has never been necessary for even the most prestigious jobs

Garbage or not the job market will always be able to provide for people who have great talent and skill sets. The primary point he pushes is to not use it's perceived "unfairness" as a cushion if you encounter failure, because that ultimately causes you to become complacent for mediocrity when you should always be trying to excel.
