Good job Andy. Thought i'd just add a few comments. Tips for people building this preamp. The most important thing is to get the faceplate lined up and to ensure that the switches are EXACTLY flat (or clamped) to the PCB to ensure they sit exactly in the centre of the holes. I have had quite a few come to me over the years because of misalignment. I am also a fan of using the very thin solder when building opamps for people. I also use a gas hand held soldering iron for that job as it is very quick and a lot more tactile. I too, use a swiss soldering rig - mine has a second cushion that clamps to the upper side of the pcb to hold all the resistors exactly flat. its pretty cool. ;)

Thanks for the great tips Matt. I am currently looking for a smaller soldering rig for op amps and mic boards. The gas hand held iron is on my wish list as well. Stop by again and check out the new build going up tonight. Be well and stay safe. Andy

Great video Andy! I noticed the height of the installed Op Amp is identical to mine, but it's taller than what's listed on the build instructions? I'm assuming it's not a problem since it works fine in the Midas chassis?

The clearance of the height of the op amp is not interfering with the units installation into the chassis. The pins seem to dictate that height. I did not trim them to make it lower.
Thanks for the kind words. Good luck with your project. Andy
