On the reality show Naked and Afraid, one of the producers was bit by a Fer-de-lance in Costa Rica. After 5 surgeries he was still healing a year after the bite occurred. That was a while ago and they showed his foot and it was pretty narly looking.
Glad you're alright, but as scary as it was, it was an experience. A great, beautiful, scary life experience. That's how you live life! Although I'm with you on the snakes thing. Screw those things. Hard pass.
