I was an Avital dealer/installer from 1994-2000, deja vu...LOL I never had a comeback on an Avital, some of the older Excalibur units, not so lucky. Truth be told the guy before me was not so great at wire management and I'm sure he caused most of the issue I had to deal with. Nice to see the new wiring setup, I've been using crimestopper or Prestige on my side jobs and I've been good so far but I only do them as a side job now. Thanks for the informative video(s!)

Great video! I recently replaced the vehicle battery on a 2014 kia sorento. When i went to plug in the negative cable on the battery, with keys in my pocket the vehicle started on its own. The only way i was able to shut it back off was by cycling the ignition from off to on. I disconnected the plug to the ignition switch connected the negative cable to the battery terminal and it did it again. Completely bypassing the ignition switch. Any suggestions on how to fix or reset? Thanks.
I have a strange question at least to me. I’ve had this system installed for a while and what it keeps doing is flagging the brown brake plus wire as being missing. I don’t believe that’s a necessary component however, the remote startle usually work for about a week and then it’ll stop and flash code 6 at me. Now it says brake light plus but I’m not sure how to wire that because it’s not giving me a specific detail. If I’m supposed to see positive voltage on this lead, am I supposed to wire to the ground wire or the hot wire and if I do the hot wire, do I need a diode. Seems to me without one I’m gonna pop something in the system .

Once I attach the positive brake light input, it shuts the auto start down come completely until I disconnect that lead. Is there a specific way other than tapping into the brake light lead?

Second, the starter stays engaged during remote start, I think on this one I just got to get system to learn tach but cant get their until I fix first issue. Any help would be appreciated.
i just did a viper 5204 in a 2004 corolla. it went smooth but i spent hours trying to figure out why it blinks 7 times in MTS mode and 8 times in auto mode.. finally figured out with some help that i mixed up the black/white wire with the white/black wire!! the wires are so thin its hard to tell which color is stripe and which is wire color.

im having issues with my viper smartstart 5706v that Best Buy installed in my 2010 accord coupe. I just recently swapped out the stock radio for a pioneer radio head unit. prior to installing I had to disconnect the (-) battery terminal. After I got everything installed I started getting low voltage warnings on the viper fob. now the smartstart won't turn the engine on. do you think it could be the low battery? 2. does smartstart have any dealings at the radio? (I wouldn't think so, but im just trying to make sure) please help.

Is the Avital 5305L and the Viper 5706v wiring the same? I have an Avital system that was professionally installed. If I replace the brain of the avital system with the viper brain system, along with the antenna, will everything be plug and play?
Can you break down removing this alarm? I have a Viper 500. Cam will turn over and run, but only if I pedal the gas. I’m pretty sure it’s interfering with the VATS system on my 93 Cadillac Fleetwood.

Thanks for your videos. I managed to go from nowhere to alarming up a basic daihatsu hijet alarm with a really basic ebay alarm that looks a bit like this. Landbo LB-100D. All works fine except I never used a green/orange 2 wire harness that close/open electrical safety, and have fob functions. What are these wires? Thanks.
@@Lesscoelectronicshi, there is, but it's so basic that I ended up following you Viper type installs to get it working. I actually found a Russian guy showing an install test with the same one, under the name tsk-100, but identical alarm. And he had a door actuator attached to it. All in Russian, but I know what the harness is now. I'm not using an actuator, manual locks, but I saw you have a video for that too, so maybe next project for me. Cheers.

I don't know what model the viper harness is yet I have to pull my dash off because of where the guy installed it at its in a stupid place. It's almost all the way up behind my gauges. Lessco Electronics I'm honestly thinking about just ripping the hole alarm out and just installing a new one. Because the way this one is set up in my truck it's all cluster fucked under the dash. Wires are running everywhere and it's a pig sty underneath my dash. What is one would you prefer for a 96 F 350 diesel?

Thank you so much! I was able to install my 5303 successfully because of this video! I wish you had explained the heavy gauge relay wiring because the installation instructions confused me with all the auxiliary 12v (I ended up with 4 wires tapped into one constant 12v) and aux starter connections. Also I could not find information on how to determin if you need a relay for the doors or not, or if you need a relay for the lights or not. Could you please explain how to determin in a particular car if it needs relays in either of these or not?
I have a viper 4105 remote security alarm that I installed myself on a 95 eagle talon 5 speed manual. when I remote start the car the starter stays spinning. if I start the car with the key and remote start takeover, it works just fine. however if I try to remote start the car, the starter will keep spinning and the only way I can turn it off is with the remote start button. there is a feature called antigrind which requires the use of a relay but am not sure if this is the issue. any help would be appreciated oh also, I have a set of door lock actuators on the car and was wondering how I would wire them to the alarm.
Thank you lessco! I learned the hard way that the alarm will not relearn a tach signal unless the original is deleted first. Did that and it started just fine. On another note, I have a set of door lock actuators that I got off ebay, they may be made by omega so I'm sure you are very familiar with the wires/polarity. Can I wire the green and blue wires from the actuators straight into the alarm door lock harness, or will I have to run the green and blue wires from the actuators into the cars factory door lock/unlock wires? +Lessco Electronics I am going crazy trying to figure out this central door lock actuator situation. I wired the blue and green wires up to the viper door lock harness and I'm getting nothing. do I need a relay, or is there an issue with the remote. I can hear the viper alarm click when I press the unlock/lock button but nothing gives. also, learning the viper remote is different from the others. the viper 4105 uses an auto learn feature to configure the remotes, instead of your typical cycling through channels approach please help lessco, I need to get this put back together but I'm stuck with trying to figure out these locks.

do as you mentioned, just be sure the remote starter's starter output wire winds up on the starter side so when the alarm is armed and you remote start the power will be applied to the starter side, NOT the key side

Ive been trying to get my viper 5706v working and installed it with a db3, alarm works door locks work, but no remote start, flashes 8 times. I believe I need to install that toggle switch for the nss but I do not know where it goes or what it wires into. Could you explain how to wire it up. Thanks

how much Amps in average this remote starter will drain from battery?? Without remote starter power consumption in my car Honda Civic is about 0.04Amps. After remote starter installation battery drainage will be about 0.10 Amps, more, less ? Any specification in that matter??

+Kevin Hutton those are relayed outputs as is on most models with the 12 ga output wires. only on the older ones with the thinner ribbon types require additional relays wired in to power the circuits. I hope I said that well :/

I have the viper 3105 I'm hearing conflicting info on the green and violet wires. I have a 2006 mustang and from what I'm seeing on tech sheet there negative dome supervision . So I only use the green or violet not both correct ? Appreciate any help . Eric
Martin your great just by spending time on break down on installation . Do my homework first on AR3 also found detail wire location for my install. discover ar3 has set default fortin or idatalink bypass. kinda disaapoint with either bypass it's will only do bypass unless firware change options. will call you soon. I'm on the road as truck driver time is everything. david cruz kinda wish bought different system or ask you the best fit with option but to late I'm not going to send back

I got the unit hooked up but it acts as though i dont have any power to the remote start it doesnt do anything when i hit the button my dakota has 3 12v power wires do i need to use all three i took both red power wires from the unit and wired them together to the red 12v wire on my truck any ideas. I have avital remote start in my car already it stopped working ive tried everything to reprogram it and what sucks it when it did work I didn't hear a horn or nothing when opening or locking doors so its hard to tell if I am reprogramming it . if I was to buy a different brand would the wires be the same colors ? That way I can disconnect one wire at a time and connect the new one ? Does anyone know ? Im hoping its like switching a radio and just matching the colors im not cheap just broke lol to spend taking it to a professional

I have connected / located most of the wires, but i am not able to locate the below: (1)Parking Lights (+) - Wiring says Driver Fuse/Relay Box 17 pin plug - Red/Black I could not find the wire with that color, i saw a bunch of connectors but could not locate the 17 pin connector (2) Power Lock - Pink /Black ; (3) Power Unlock - Green - The wiring sheet says Pass kick or MICU (which one is MICU 30pin plug please ?) You must have the wrong btrake wire, if it has +12v on it, it wont allow rs to operate at all, recheck that wire

Lessco Electronics I have a viper 500 esp main harness I'm wondering if my avital 5303 remote will program to it?
Lessco Electronics I'm honestly thinking about just ripping the hole alarm out and just installing a new one. Because the way this one is set up in my truck it's all cluster fucked under the dash. Wires are running everywhere and it's a pig sty underneath my dash. What is one would you prefer for a 96 F 350 diesel?
I have the same brand remote start only system im gonna install on a 2005 dodge Dakota the key is not chipped and it has no alarm system and no keyless entry any tips would be appreciated but my main question is where should I ground the neutral safety switch wire
I always ground the neutral safety along with the black/ground wire.

Thank you so much! I was able to install my 5303 successfully because of this video! I wish you had explained the heavy gauge relay wiring because the installation instructions confused me with all the auxiliary 12v (I ended up with 4 wires tapped into one constant 12v) and aux starter connections. Also I could not find information on how to determin if you need a relay for the doors or not, or if you need a relay for the lights or not. Could you please explain how to determin in a particular car if it needs relays in either of these or not?

I have a viper 4105 remote security alarm that I installed myself on a 95 eagle talon 5 speed manual. when I remote start the car the starter stays spinning. if I start the car with the key and remote start takeover, it works just fine. however if I try to remote start the car, the starter will keep spinning and the only way I can turn it off is with the remote start button. there is a feature called antigrind which requires the use of a relay but am not sure if this is the issue. any help would be appreciated
oh also, I have a set of door lock actuators on the car and was wondering how I would wire them to the alarm.
+Isai Conchas for the grinding, you can fix that by relearning the tach wire. as for anti grind you wire that just like a starter kill
Thank you lessco! I learned the hard way that the alarm will not relearn a tach signal unless the original is deleted first. Did that and it started just fine.
On another note, I have a set of door lock actuators that I got off ebay, they may be made by omega so I'm sure you are very familiar with the wires/polarity. Can I wire the green and blue wires from the actuators straight into the alarm door lock harness, or will I have to run the green and blue wires from the actuators into the cars factory door lock/unlock wires?

sure, you can use the blue and green only, the other wires arent needed unless you are after central locking. best regards
+Lessco Electronics I am going crazy trying to figure out this central door lock actuator situation. I wired the blue and green wires up to the viper door lock harness and I'm getting nothing. do I need a relay, or is there an issue with the remote. I can hear the viper alarm click when I press the unlock/lock button but nothing gives. also, learning the viper remote is different from the others. the viper 4105 uses an auto learn feature to configure the remotes, instead of your typical cycling through channels approach

do as you mentioned, just be sure the remote starter's starter output wire winds up on the starter side so when the alarm is armed and you remote start the power will be applied to the starter side, NOT the key side
Hey i just installed a avital 5301L . the remote start turns on but it keep giving power to the starter even after the engine is on. Did i miss something?

Ive been trying to get my viper 5706v working and installed it with a db3, alarm works door locks work, but no remote start, flashes 8 times. I believe I need to install that toggle switch for the nss but I do not know where it goes or what it wires into. Could you explain how to wire it up. Thanks

how much Amps in average this remote starter will drain from battery?? Without remote starter power consumption in my car Honda Civic is about 0.04Amps. After remote starter installation battery drainage will be about 0.10 Amps, more, less ? Any specification in that matter??

+Kevin Hutton those are relayed outputs as is on most models with the 12 ga output wires. only on the older ones with the thinner ribbon types require additional relays wired in to power the circuits. I hope I said that well :/

H1/1 red : (+) 12vdc constant input = white or white/red (+)

H1/5 white : parking light out put = light switch

I have the viper 3105 I'm hearing conflicting info on the green and violet wires. I have a 2006 mustang and from what I'm seeing on tech sheet there negative dome supervision . So I only use the green or violet not both correct ? Appreciate any help . Eric
Martin your great just by spending time on break down on installation . Do my homework first on AR3 also found detail wire location for my install. discover ar3 has set default fortin or idatalink bypass. kinda disaapoint with either bypass it's will only do bypass unless firware change options. will call you soon. I'm on the road as truck driver time is everything.

I got the unit hooked up but it acts as though i dont have any power to the remote start it doesnt do anything when i hit the button my dakota has 3 12v power wires do i need to use all three i took both red power wires from the unit and wired them together to the red 12v wire on my truck any ideas. I have a question hopefully someone knows the answer . I have avital remote start in my car already it stopped working ive tried everything to reprogram it and what sucks it when it did work I didn't hear a horn or nothing when opening or locking doors so its hard to tell if I am reprogramming it . if I was to buy a different brand would the wires be the same colors ? That way I can disconnect one wire at a time and connect the new one ? Does anyone know ? Im hoping its like switching a radio and just matching the colors im not cheap just broke lol to spend taking it to a professional

I have Compustar CM800 + Honda SL3 Bypass. I have connected / located most of the wires, but i am not able to locate the below:
(1)Parking Lights (+) - Wiring says Driver Fuse/Relay Box 17 pin plug - Red/Black I could not find the wire with that color, i saw a bunch of connectors but could not locate the 17 pin connector
(2) Power Lock - Pink /Black ; (3) Power Unlock - Green - The wiring sheet says Pass kick or MICU (which one is MICU 30pin plug please ?)
