The amount of creative energy work in these is mind blowing. As someone who has zero fashion sense I appreciate the education I am getting.
The amount of snark in these is nuclear. As someone who prides herself on her snarkiness; I recognise your Olympic standards and salute you.
As you said she wears clothes as a mask. She has no "self" so copies everything from expressions, to clothes, to writing ... you can FEEL it ... that no matter what she does she's devoid of personal expression.
She's soulless.
She has what makes clowns creepy and scary... looks human but the fixed expression and the behaviour isn't quite right and we feel it!

Facts. Models are paid and dressed in a style, hair, makeup, et al. Their job is to make it look good and like it works, like its something we can pull off. We need to be able to be comfortable and confident in the clothes and how we look in them. She's stock footage of how it fails, how it lacks authenticity and how to screw it up, both in how its worn, when and where. Everything has a time and place. She's like a thong and pasties at a catholic high mass with the pope. Will you get attention? Yes. Will it be good? No.
You've nailed her. She's stuck in the 90s, doing things a working-class girl who was a desperate social climber would consider 'classy' from looking at a copy of Vogue while getting her hair straightened at the hairdresser's. Her and Harry's whole New Agey "therapy" schtick is strictly from the 90s too.
So, I grew up in the 90's. 100% she's replicating 90's fashion and failing. Two possibilities, she's not old enough to realize when this was on Heathers style wise, even though I also went to catholic school and it was acceptable wear, it was also what my mother would wear. So, hard pass.
Or, she's younger than me and she's dumb and gullible enough to think it was actually cool to us back then and we'll be all sentimental and she'll be the one to bring the style back. Her retro Lands End early 90's mom look sucked then, wasn't flattering, and frankly, most women who dressed like this were the most bigoted, elitist, materialistic, shallow and racist snobs on the block. The only thing this look was good for was allowing the stick to fit further up the backdoor. We all knew "Heather"s. They were shallow, fake and useless. Future stepford wives, too busy faking it to really know who they were, what they wanted for themselves and more concerned about what they could get from others. True fashionistas could wear camo and Hawaiian shirts and look sexy af. She can't even rock a 90's 40 year old mom look. Jc. She's such a try harder and fail. Blech.

Your historical eye on fashion explains to me the feeling that i always get with MMs outfits that she's trying to replicate something I've seen before but always falls short.
It's like she's trying to roll play the vogue magazines she was obviously obsessed with most of her life. It's crazy how empty a narcissist is to have no sense of self.

Thank you so much for helping me understand the sources of some ofM’s bad fashion choices, and the weird “off-ness” of pretty much all her outfits.
Thinking on her former IG profile when she has ‘Super Model’ and claimed she’s 5’7”, when clearly she may not be more than 5’3” or 5’4”. One of the complaints of the wedding stylists that Mrs just ‘couldn’t make up her mind’, maybe it’s some form of body dysmorphia, she sees herself like she WANTS to be rather than reality.
The young Fran Lebowitz made an appearance. These videos are the in depth fashion education I never knew I needed. Why ruin a Valentino shift dress, or any for that matter with cheap and unflattering garments? An investment there would make a huge diff. It's transitional time in Germany, so yes printed tunics are a thing. We believe in multiple layers (no not like Meghan, but for clothing) 😂.

@@arribaficationwineho32 sure. André Leon Tally was, at his peak one of the best editors for vogue at the time, he spotted some of the now important designers and featured them. I know he was a relict of excess of the 70ies to 90ies at one point and needed to be removed for many reasons and by far he was savage against his former besties and got shunned by the fashion elite, but it doesn't take away how much he contributed for fashion. Plus, he had actual style and showed it. His ommission by E. Enninful to tell his "first black editor" story is simply wrong. I don't see him as a Saint but he doesn't deserve to be erased.

I graduated college in 1990 and I LOVED that huge 90’s look - I never knew that one stylist was responsible! But even then, the goal was to look real and fun, not pretentious, and to have your clothes fit your body better than the baggy 80’s styles. She has such thin pins but manages to look awful in jeans - I don’t know how.

Omg, your ending killed me 😂😂😂😂😂. Also, as old as she is, you'd think she would have found her style, instead of pure mismatch imitation. I'm a few years older than her, but by my thirties, I'd played the imitation game and come out on the other side knowing what I like and don't like; what flatters me or makes me look hideous. That's not to say that I don't make fashion faux pas, because I surely do (I'm not wealthy enough to prevent them 😅), but at this stage of my life, I've definitely found my own style, I don't feel like I need to imitate. She would do better to be a renegade than this sloppy mishmash of unflattering neutrals. And don't even get me started on the ever-present black heels.🙄

We’ve all worn it. It’s what you wear to the grocery and then your child’s event. It’s not the worst thing. It’s only offensive without some self-awareness, I think.
Love your work. An Air Force one zinger followed by "When in Düsseldorf, do as the Düsseldorfers do." At first, that came out as Düsseldork. Maybe that's what residents are called. But I did see some looks recently that did make me think that Meghan is having a direct influence on one fashion brand and another very famous person's dress sense. There were some pants in the Loewe SS 24 video here on UA-cam that screamed Meghan. If you do look it up, you'll know the ones I mean straight away. Also... Prince William. This was so funny and witty, thank you Ibble Dibble! I study astrology and have a sense that, as her Venus which symbolises taste and aesthetics, is in Virgo, she may be drawn to simpler styles and silhouettes. To me, this placement would also explain the practical shirt dresses… Audrey Tautou also has a Virgo Venus (and Leo Sun) like Meghan and I see some similarities in their style. I’m no fashion expert though, so may be wrong.

That's what I would do if making clothes and ran out of fabric, I would choose carefully where I put the extra material to complete the project, and bingo, I've got a decent new dress etc, and it's tastefully done.
