OMGoddess I love you, Jon... it's SO painful when kids are a trigger... my overactive thalamus kicks into overdrive and takes me into the depths of despair and ruminations of my failure as a father. It's so good though that you notice these triggers and can see it coming. Do you still sometimes miss the trigger like you don't know what did it? My triggers can just be a simple word or phrase, or the way someone touches me or a song... it usually catches me off guard, brings up a painful memory or just intense feelings I don't know the origin of, but if I'm prudent I will examine that feeling and try to remember the very first time I felt that way and usually I can find a time in my childhood when I felt that way and I can then go back in time and comfort that child in my mind to try and heal from it but that can be a long process like how could I do that when I'm in the middle of something and want to start freaking out, worse when anxiety is a part of it... then I have to have a time out or just go home for the rest of the day ugh I get your 4 hour limit too... bosses don't always understand... I don't understand your computer programming stuff lol Happy belated birthday!!! Your focus problems are identical to mine... takes a lot of energy to get refocused when distracted. The tunnelvision is a gift when you are interested in something constructive but would you maybe forget to care for yourself when that happens? Internet rabbit holes oh my...
Sometimes I'll get triggered and I don't know where it came from. This happens a few times with my daughter, like some stressor that I didn't see before or see coming. I've been pretty good at recognizing them as they are after the fact though, and I try to learn from those.

I'll reply a bit later, but thanks for all the love, Forrest!
