Definitely one that will touch your heart try listening to it live with your wife who is going through chemo treatment I did and it brought me to tears
@@SaeedReacts.the demo of Elephant is where it’s at. The label had him change one of the lyrics from “Harry Nilsson songs” to “classic country songs” but the specificity of singing Nilsson with someone to try and keep their spirits up is a more compelling image, imo. But every version of the song is devastating, in the best possible way.
Love and appreciate what you have right now. Enjoy that love you share with your special someone. Tomorrow is not a given, and you never know what it will bring. What a beautiful and heartfelt song. The emotions it brings out in us all, and especially you, my dear friend. Hug your beautiful wife and daughter tight and as much as you can. They are the center of your universe. Much love to you and your family ❤️ 🫂.
Not what I expected at all!! With that title my first thought was heavy metal, screaming, mad. What a stunning song and that soothing voice and music. TX Saeed. Greetings from South Africa
Incredible writing and performance. So happy to see you get back to Jason Isbell and can’t wait to see you do deeper down the rabbit hole. Some other suggestions from Jason: Sings That She Sang in the Shower; Yvette, Elephant, Live Oak, Relatively Easy. And those are just incredible songs from the masterpiece album that somewhat chronicles his journey into sobriety. Edit - Yes, the beautiful violin player singing with him onstage was his wife until very recently. They sadly divorced and went their separate ways at the end of last year.
Great songwriter. He got me a bit shook with this one. Its a topic that has been on my mind the last few weeks and it hit hard. Beautiful song. Thanks for sharing these suggestions.
Life can be so beautiful, so sad, so amazing, so tragic, so wonderful, and so many other things at the same time. I just left a comment on another of your reactions suggesting you check out jason isbell. I'm glad someone else suggested that before me. He really puts you in the song or puts the song inside of you. Not sure which one. Elephant is another beautiful song. Incredibly sad, but beautiful. As an ex marine Dress Blues is also a favorite of mine. Another great reaction. Thanks.
The great thing about Isbell is that his lyrics cut right through all of the bullshit and get right to the truth, but he manages to make it poetic. He is a truly gifted songwriter.
Bless you Saeed. You are such a beautiful soul and I'm so glad I found your channel. I've been married 10 wonderful years and hoping for forever so this song hits hard for sure. Jason Isbell is a beast of a song writer man. So good!!!
To paraphrase Bon Dylan (about Gordon Lightfoot), "The only thing wrong with Jason Isbell songs are that they end." Really just a great songwriter. As others have suggested, check out "Elephant," "King of Oklahoma," "Cover Me Up" or "Songs in the Shower." Really, you can throw a dart at a tracklist of Isbell and find a gem. Thanks for doing this, Saeed! BTW, he's going to be in Antwerp and Utrecht next month if you want to catch him live.
Yes. The fiddle player was his wife. The have since divorced. Amanda Shires is a singer-songwriter too. She is also part of the supergroup The Highwomen.
I've watched probably a dozen reactions to this song (Jason Isbell is something special), and "supply and demand" is the most succinct and accurate explanation of what it's about that I've heard. Well done, Saeed. And another vote for Elephant if you're looking for another song of his to react to.
Teach Me How to Forget is a great song about how cringy it is to think about things you did, and the person you were, when you were drunk or high, especially when someone from your past comes around to tell those stories. Lyrics sample: Now that I've found someone that makes me want to live, Does it make my leaving harder to forgive?
Another fantastic singer/writer/musician with an extensive catalog worth examining. He also spent some time with the Drive by Truckers. You MUST check out The Tedeschi Trucks Band, soon!
Jason and Amanda sadly parted end of last year. They got a 9 yo daughter together - Mercy Rose. so they have to relate to each other anyway. Jason Isbell is probably THE songwriter of his generation - so many brilliant songs. Have seen him 3 times live - come november will be the 4th time. Very much looking forward to that... 🙂
@@SaeedReacts. @deepbluehue3 There was a documentary "Running with your eyes closed", that showed the contradictions/differences with the couple. Both also released songs which pointed towards problems. But Amanda actually opened for Jason after the divorce-filing, so seemingly there are some interactions + they have a young daughter...
Jason Isbell is one of the best current songwriters. I would love for you to react to his song Death Wish. Or his cover of the Allman Brother’s song Whipping Post. I’m trying to think of which of his other songs of his I would recommend but there are too many good ones! Probably anything from the “Live from Alabama” album. But you really can’t go wrong with anything he’s written. This song is hard for me to listen to now that he and Amanda are getting divorced. For some reason this reaction is reminding me of one of my favorite songs by a current band that I don’t think you’ve reacted to and is also in a similar style of Music “Days of the Years” by The Felice Brothers. I know you probably have a ton of stuff on your list but it’s def worth a listen.
So, you can't really go wrong with anything Jason writes. He is thought of as the best current day lyricist. You should try "Elephant" next. It won't disappoint. Then if you want to experience some of his earlier stuff, you should check out the band Drive-by Truckers when he was with them. They had 3 guys writing songs, but in my opinion Jason was the best writer, then Patterson Hood, who can hold his own, then Mike Cooley. If you decide to check them out, I would start with either "Decoration Day" or "Outfit." Jason wrote both of them.
Maybe time running out is a gift I'll work hard 'til the end of my shift And give you every second I can find And hope it isn't me who's left behind Very profound.
Now do Jason's song "Elephant". You can't go wrong with a Jason Isbell song.
Will add it to my list ! Thanks

One of my favorites by Jason. It definitely gets me in the feels. We were just a month shy of 41 years when my husband passed.
So sorry for your loss 🫂❤️
This song definitely made an impact on me
Jason Isbell is the best songwriter we have right now.
Hope to see you continue the Isbell journey. My favorite songwriter. Can’t go wrong with any of his songs.
Definitely want to check out more. Great songwriter.

You want lyrics? Keep on doing his catalog!
His wife, Amanda Shire’s has an excellent love song about him called “You are My Home” which is kind of a companion to his song “Cover Me Up”
Wow. The was impressive and heartfelt
That one hit me!
I cried my eyes out but beautiful song

This is truly an amazing so g.
My wife has been listening to it ever since i sent her the link.

That is amazing!
Thanks for sharing that and the recommendations!
A lot of Jason's songs come from his struggles with addictions. Cover Me Up is one of the best.
Will add that one to my list. Definitely a topic that is very important to me as well.
Yes. The fiddle player was his wife. The have since divorced. Amanda Shires is a singer-songwriter too. She is also part of the supergroup The Highwomen.
Sorry to hear that they arent together anymore.
The Highwaywomen's music is on my todo list!
Check out Cast Iron Skillet off his newest album. How this man turns out these songs is other worldly. Great job on the video!
Incredible artist. Thanks for watching and the recommendation.

Elephant is on my to do list.
The first of Jasons song was Cover Me Up. Great song

I did one reaction to Tedeschi Trucks Band way in the beginning of my channel. I must check out more.
Jason is the greatest songwriter in the game. Not to mention hes an unbelievably talented guitarist. More Isbell!!

His wife is the violin player Amanda Shires
They divorced earlier this year after 11 years. I suppose that negates some of the probabilities within the song.
@@williamdemerchant7295 I suppose. I hate to hear that. He wrote Cover Me Up about them

Thanks for this amazing request. Incredible song!
Great reaction. If you want to go deeper into Isbell's stark genius, I recommend "Elephant" Live at Sirius XM. Be prepared to be moved.

I reacted to two Patterson Hood solo songs a while ago.
Try Cover Me Up.
Hold on Pause......judging by your intro ,let me run and get some tissues before i watch.
