Floorplan is well known as Robert Hood’s house outlet, but in more recent years the alias has evolved into a family affair with co-production from his daughter, Lyric. The Floorplan project first came to light in 1996 when Hood used it to announce his Drama imprint with the highly sought after ‘Funky Souls’ EP. After a hiatus lasting nearly a decade, the late 2000’s saw a revitalized Hood re-establish Floorplan into what may now be his most widely known musical outlet.
Having watched her father DJ the world over from the shadows and numerous appearances, in the Floorplan DJ set Lyric Hood comes centre-stage alongside her father. Together, their 2016 album ‘Victorious’ was filled with a diverse collection of dancefloor cuts, fusing influences of house, disco, funk and gospel to showcase a heady array of powerful dance music. Their performances are a marvel to witness, which makes their appearance in The Lab NYC highly-anticipated.

I think Floorplan are the pendulum that oscillates between House and Techno. The thing that makes them unique is that they manage to hit the house and techno vibes at the same time, giving off a force in the hallucinating mix. A wonderful show of fusion, sensations and mesmerizing vibes. A supreme DJ set!!🌪️

the dynamics between father and daughter are awesome; great human beings doing some great mixing together, I'm so proud of how Robert is teaching his girl, grooming the next generation of techno djs.

Just saw Robert hood in a Toronto warehouse last weekend for the first time. What a legend, had the place feeling it all night
I was there, the place was packed good.
Now this is my kind of dance music. Sexy, funky and melodic house. Thank you Floorplan. My favourite set on mixmag this year.
Great to see the blood of this saint is continuing with such a lovely family and daughter 😘😘😘, she is lucky but got the pride and spark to embrace it big up…. I get emotional… lots of love….
