My name is Esther and in this very first video I share why I adopted a bunny and all the prep that was involved in welcoming Peekaboo into our lives. Sorry the audio is bad! I should've re-done it!

FYI, Peekaboo now has a much larger litter box, a mat for her paws so they don't fall through the holes and she doesn't like to eat hay in her litter box so she eats it outside. She only goes in there to pee and poop and nothing more 🤷🏻♀️ thx for all the comments on her litter box but she's very happy now 🥰🙏

Peak a boo has got to be the most beautiful Bun bun I've ever seen! She is literally the Bunny 🐰 princess. Her eyes and coat color are just so so pretty. I also love Sincerely cinnabun and morgan too! I have a few others but i think you and her are my favorites by far! Im gettinf my first buns looking into lion head bun and getting a holland lop!

It may help to take the litter box out of the cover until she is trained and make the area much smaller. Keep it close to the cover, like in front of the door so she knows that’s the area. But as a warning, she may also choose the corner she prefers to pee in, my bun does. When I change around his set up, he tells me where the litter box must go by peeing there, no matter where I’ve placed the litter box. Sometimes they can be particular and stubborn about their potty corners.
Yes thank you! I learned that in episode 2 to make it smaller and it was sooooo helpful. She learned in less than 2 days and no more accidents woohoo!🙌🙌

My boyfriend always looks at me another way everytime I want to spoil my bunnies. I am glad you are in the bunny mom world! From your dedication, research, and love I can tell it will be amazing and Peekaboo will love her life. I have two holland lops and they can be brats but I love them and spoil them so much haha. Also a good tip for car rides, is if you are too concern of them not drinking you can always try to see if they would want to drink from a syringe! After my bun's surgery they loved drinking out of a syringe better.

20:44 SHE FLOPPED OMG!!! thats such a good sign! also as a bunny owner saying this, make sure to get a bigger litter box size, and always keep hay in it. Female bunnies tend to be a bit bigger than male ones! she seems very sweet too! you're gonna be a great mama for that bunny

Apart from the litter box size (she's gonna need a bigger one soon, size of a basic cat litter box is perfect) and the fact you bought her from a breeder and not adopted, you did everything right! For the future when she's litter box trained, I find hemp bedding is best because it absorbs the smells well. I free roam too and I'm so happy you chose this route! Also giving her a tunnel will add a hidey space for her and they love it. And don't worry they walk like that on the floor when they are still a bit scared, she will get more confident with it. Also they all prefer drinking water in secret :)

@Munchkin Yeah I honestly didn't even think about it as an issue. Peekaboo was the first lop I laid eyes on during my kijiji search and I just had to have her! I feel good about getting her from a well known breeder because she had a ton of experience and I was able to turn to her many times in the first couple of weeks when I had questions. As a first time owner that was sooo important to me thank you!!

I’m a brand new bunny mommy too!! I have a dwarf holland lop that just turned a year old. I love your videos and everything you’ve done to help her get this far. I wish I could totally free roam my Gracie but I have two inside dogs. But I’m giving her the whole front room for herself.

I really like the set up you have especially for a first-time owner. I can tell you've put a lot of effort into researching how to care for a rabbit. My one piece of advice is to give her a bigger litter box and make sure she has easier access to her hay. But like other than that Well done.
Yup her litter box is much bigger now but she doesn't like eating hay in there so I put her hay outside separately🙌

I have a pink-eared, blue-eyed mini lop angora cross bunny boy called Jin, he just turned 1 last month. I can't wait to see how she does with you. I adore Cinnabun, Lennon and Bini their videos helped me alot.

I use washable dog pee pad blankets for my bunnies. They're Waterproof and nonslip. I found the ones I get on amazon. We have have wood floors too and I put those foam floor mats down first and then the dog pads over so its softer and my bunnies love to lay on them more than their beds and blankets.

Btw the reason that she didn’t know where the hay was is bc it was hidden and so was the water. For anyone reading this, at least to start off, pls just get a cheap low sided cat litter tray for easy access and have the water out in the open.

Awee this is so cute . Hello Peekaboo :) bunnies are suppose to have unlimited hay . The breeder told you it’s okay if he doesn’t eat for 4-5 hours . That’s not correct . She should of gave you a good amount of hay since it’s very important do their health . Her litter Box seems way small as well but other than great job I’m glad she’s with a loving person like yourself you can really tell you care .I suggest you feed her alfalfa since she’s so young she doesn’t need hay just yet . She’s so adorable by the way 😍
She gets unlimited timothy hay but not alfalfa. I give her only a handful everyday with 1/4 cup alfalfa pellets. Since the breeder already got her used to timothy hay she gets that unlimited but she only eats a little. The 4-5 hrs was just for the journey home but good thing she started eating after 3! I got her a bigger litter box in episode 2 which she loves yay!💖

As a mom of 3 bunnies here’s some tips make sure your cords are protected from peekaboo and later on you may consider getting another bunnie considering that bunnies are very social animals but overall your doing so so good!

Holy smokes!!! That medicine kit is INSANE!!! I’m a Nurse and own 7 beautiful healthy bunnies… I do not own and have never ever needed ANY of those things (in the medicine kit)!!! A rabbit nail clipper is about the only thing in that medicine kit that will be used regularly! Only recently I’ve started using a comb for my newest double skirted lion heads… that’s it!!! I’m betting none of that was ever even opened??? I did have a runt baby that needed extra feedings but we went with the natural method and once a day I would help her and her mama have an extra breast-feeding session… she thrived and is now big and beautiful… no extra purchases needed and likely the best thing I could have done for her in her state!!!
Haha I know I'm crazy!! But last week we had our first emergency with Peekaboo so used some pain killers and critical care. She wasn't eating for about 6 hrs. It totally helped and I was so relieved I had stuff to help her. But you're correct, I haven't had a need for much else THANK GOD. That was mostly to just make myself feel at ease cuz I was sooooo nervous about raising a bunny😱
You should get her a buddy if it is possible for you. Rabbits shouldn't be kept alone, they are very sociable animals. They love cuddling with each other, they groom each other and sleep together. A bunny can feel very lonely when kept alone, even if the human takes really good care for his or her little furry friend.
Yeah I feel bad for her only at night cuz the rest of the day I'm home with her and she's starting to love the daily petting and massages now yay! I am trying to make her toys for the evening so hopefully that will keep her occupied. If Benny ever returns I might kidnap him and take him to my vet to see if I can keep him👀

In some countries, it is even illegal to have just one bunny and considered animal cruelty. Humans can never replace a same-species companion. They enrich each others lives so much, they can properly communicate and groom each other. This will also extend her life expectancy.
2 buns don't take much more effort or cost significantly more money than 1.
It's like when a human would be forced to only have contact with bunnies. Of course, the solo-bun will "love" cuddle time with you - they are highly social creatures so a lonely bun like her is more or less forced to spend time with another living being aka you.
Your bun is alone for at least 10 hours a day and I am sorry but I highly doubt you spend the remaining 14 hours attending to her.
So please get her a buddy.

I'm thinking about it but not going to decide just yet. She isn't alone for 10 hrs maybe 3 at night cuz I go to bed at 11 and I'm waking up around 2am to sit with her for half hour and pet her then I wake up at 6am to feed her. I don't need to work I just work on this channel and one other and so I'm in the office with her all day and she free to roam and visit us at night in the living room which she does like clockwork! She's very independent at the moment and goes about her business throughout the house and I always follow her. She's rarely alone

My Son Kirby 🐇 and I say HI to those Beautiful Bunny's. When I first saw Kirby, he was standing on his Big Paws and looking at me. He said Please get me out of here. I did .I Adopted him on 10-5-2021 and I Promise him No cage never again. Kirby 🐇 is a Flemish Giant, Free Roaming, and Eating Chewing Machine, 15 lbs of Pure Fun. You will need to get a bigger litter box. Try putting pee pads in first, bedding and plenty of Hay. You will need rugs so that Beautiful Bunny's can run around. No shaggy rugs, they will chew them up. Believe me I know, because Kirby did just that. Try Amazon Palm Leaf Bowls for your Bunny's Chewing. I bought a shop vacuum cleaner for the mess they make, shedding of his fur, all over the place. Kirby 4 times a year. 3 way tunnel, Kirby Loves to run, hide, sleep in it. Will stick his Big Beautiful Ears and Head out of the middle of the tunnel . I have 2 Tent ⛺️ beds, 1 in the bedroom and 1 in the living room. They make Great Hideout for Bunny's besides Sleeping. Ever see 👀 a Flemish Giant do Binkies? It's a sight to see. I Absolutely Love Bunny Flop. I get to see his Big Paws and Beautiful Tail, knowing that he is Happy, and Content. I bought a Stroller for Kirby. We go everywhere to the park, farmers market, Dunkin Donuts , Lake ,and shopping. We live by the Lake to many Dogs in the neighborhood. I will keep Kirby safe no matter what. He's My Life. A sign on the Stroller Beware Guard RABBIT 🐇 on Duty. He's My Bodyguard. A 73 year old Crazy Bunny Father. 🥰😍😃👍🤗🥬🥕🐰
Peekaboo is adorable! Congrats on the new family member. For anyone else who comes across a domestic rabbit outdoors, PLEASE try to catch them and drop them off at a shelter or contact a rabbit rescue who will have a volunteer come out and try to catch them. Odds of them surviving outdoors are very low. I've volunteered many times to catch a domestic rabbit that's been dumped. By the time we got there they either were hit by a car or killed by an animal. They don't belong outdoors. I understand not everyone is aware of that. This is not meant to come across as judgemental. Clearly you care about animals.
Trust me I'm kicking myself everyday for not bunnapping Benny!! It didn't even occur to me to do such a thing cuz he seemed so happy in the wild🤦🏻♀️😭 I guess if it wasn't for Benny I wouldn't have Peekaboo but my heart breaks thinking about him every single day. The only comfort I have is all the other wild bunnies disappeared off the trail at the same time he did so maybe JUST MAYBE he's somewhere out there and will return😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏
@@peekaboosjourney I didn't know that either until I got my rabbit and started volunteering with a local rescue. I hope Benny returns! 🤞 His odds are a bit better considering how long he managed to survive.
I also recently adopted a rabbit. She’s very weary but I’m just waiting for the day she opens up to me bc she’s so cute and fluffy. I also suffer from allergies and I got a teddylop lmao. I can’t believe I did that lol I’m going to have to get her shaved.
I've been using bromelain and quercetin supplements which helps with my sinus and the air purifier does wonders too!

i would love some tips im getting a netherland dwarf but i was going to get a holland lop but my nana said it was too big i really would want some tips because i cant free roam my bunny i have way to much wood and my nana is being nice to atleast let me keep it inside! I really would like advice on keeping a rabbit in a hutch. But i will let it roam some when im home.
Well all I can say is that my Peekaboo is quite small so you'll want a female with short ears. Peekaboo has very short ears for a Holland lop and that was an indication of her final size. She is almost just as tiny as the day I got her. You'll definitely want to let them out to play early morning and late evening cuz that's when they are most active. Mine are active for an hour or so around 2- 3pm as well but mostly for just hay and water. The most difficult part of having a new bunny is cleaning up after their poops and pees. You'll just have to keep the space small at first so they know where to pee and clean any areas where they aren't supposed to pee very well with atleast some vinegar. Also if you get them an Oxbow hay hut to chew on they will choose to chew that rather than your furniture. All of my furniture is wood and they never chewed then once because I got them the Oxbow hay hut. There's not much to keeping them in a hutch just have to have fresh water and hay and a litter box that you clean regularly. Please watch the Bunny Lady for more tips. You should get another bunny because it keeps other bodies of stress if you don’t play 24 seven tension to them to make sure you get another funny
Yeah we'll see. I'm home all day and don't need to work so she gets my full attention but honestly she's so independent and we are still in the bonding stage. She's only starting to enjoy my petting and massage but still has moments where she wants nothing to do with me😭. Hopefully soon she'll warm up to us some more!!❤️🤞

As you now have a loped ear bunny with a little face let me share some important tips with you. These kind of bunnies, don't have a normal type of hearing like the up war bunnies the earholes are more congested. They can be prone to ear infections.
If you ever notice, that your bunny has scratchy ears please do not use any cleaners in them. They will only make things worse. Take them to a vet. A specialist if you can for bunnies. Do not let them tell u oh its just wax. Get them to xray them, as the inner infections are not apparent. If you notice headshakes and head tilts... same thing go to the vets. Your bunny might need antibiotics. If the infection gets worse they lose the ear drum and require surgery a lot of the time.
Head tilts should be seen by vets immediately and investigated via xrays and blood tests to ascertain infection of the ears, or E Cuniculi a brain parasite, which is dangerous. If your vet doesn't advice you on this change vets.
Trust me you don't want to experience these things with your bunny.
Secondly as they have quite a small pushed in face, they can get dental problems. Keep her pellets down, but give her loads of different hay and fresh green veges so the chewing action can keep the teeth grinded down. The circular motion of eating is very important which only happens with they chew hay and veges. Pellets will fill them up and do nothing for teeth grinding as the bunnies just push them at the end of their mouth towards the back teeth and bite.
All these meds u have, throw them away. Do not give your bunny home remedies. Take them to the vet as you will not know what the correct dose is. Thermometer and all that is of no use as you will keep measuring it and the bunny will be getting upset and you won't be able to do much so take her to a vet instead. Make sure their room temperature is at the correct setting so have a room thermostat.

Don't use a harness unless you are using it to secure her in her bag or something so she can't escape. Be careful of dogs on the street.
That litter box needs to go to the bin. No grid stuff, that's bad for their feet
Thx that's all very helpful!!! So far so good. I got her a much larger litter box and put down a mat so her front paws don't fall through her back paws are huge so not worried about those.. She only goes in there to pee for a few seconds anyways. She is not like other bunnies that way. She will not eat one strand of hay in there anymore. She loves eating hay out in the open🤷🏻♀️.
I only give her 1/4 of pellets although some say to give unlimited. If I gave her unlimited she would ONLY eat pellets cuz she loves them so much so definitely restricting that. She does scratch her ears after I pet her but I think that's cuz I mess up her hair cuz it's only for a second or two. Will keep an eye out for head tilts. Thank you! I placed a mat on the mesh so her paws don't fall through and she loves it. She doesn't spend much time in there or eat any hay in there she's got a separate box for that🙌 Will show in next video today or tomorrow👍

All that Fur & hay will be all over the place. Half the toys you buy he will not touch. Wrap up all electric wires. They will Chew everything including your clothes and furniture. I buy from Amazon, Chewy ,& Walmart. Try palm leaf bowls and plates. Good for them Chewing. I like your setup. Bigger litter box. Get pee pads for him. you need better audio. also you want to make sure you DON'T get a dog. because that dog can kill your bunny by giving it a heart attack. That bunny in the park, the black one, he was actually an abandoned domestic pet or the descendant of one. the only wild rabbits in the USA tend to be hares or cottontails, which have a very distinctive smooth flecked coat. it's pretty common to abandon bunny rabbits. their breeding is infamous for a reason. if you don't spay or neuter your bunny and they find a bun of the opposite gender, there WILL be hanky panky. "wild" Bunnies tend to have a much lower lifespan outside. an animal probably got him. without being neutered Benny would have lived about 8 years, but having your bunny spayed and neutered will double their lifespan. they're also VERY prone to hyper or hypo thermia, if they're drenched in water they can get hypothermia and die, that includes rain. And of course snow. Their guts are very sensitive, not enough fiber and their guts will stop moving. If your bunny stops pooping that's actually life threatening. 90% of their diet needs to be hay or grass. They NEED to be brought inside, you should NEVER put a bunny outside unsupervised or in bad weather.
OMG NO angoras are not the best bunny. i own an angora and I can tell you that coat is a LOT of work. Rukia was a gift from a neighbor who was trying to rehome a breeder's excess bunnies. He knew I spin yarn, that's why he gave her to me. I save her sheds for spinning yarn. Let me tell you, allergies tend to be worse with long furred animals. If its got a long coat, assume allergy central. Long haired bunnies also have to be kept free of hairballs, because those can clog their intestines if they don't have enough fiber to pass them. OMG now I have to go brush Rukia. >.> the temptation is too much. Excuse me.

They live shorter lives, they tend to die of disease or predation or starvation, they damage the environment by killing vulnerable species for food. Its just not a good time. I don't even know where to begin with this comment 🤣 firstly, I stated that the audio was bad.. that was the first thing I covered in the very beginning. I'm sorry but I didn't know my mic was messed up and I didn't want to re-film the entire thing which I regret now but it's just a bunny video not a Netflix special so I decided to let it go 😜 I fixed the audio in the rest of my videos but it will never be perfect cuz I ain't no professional and there's an echo on my house lol. Also, there are plenty of people who own bunnies and dogs you just gotta do you research and bond them properly. The breeder I'm getting my dog from has a Holland lop and they get along just fine. As for the black bunnies at the beach--there are actually hundreds of them at this place and it's become a local attraction. Not sure if the city will do anything about it but it's there. Benny was likely taken by one of my neighbors since I made him so comfortable with humans and everyone was always trying to pet him. I should've taken him in but I didn't know anything about bunnies until he went missing which made me want to get one. It's a bit of a paradox🤪
I learned mostly from Sincerely Cinnabun not Lennon cuz she had a Holland lop and she makes better vids IMO.
Finally, I didn't choose Peekaboo from a breeder because I am particularly interested support breeders. I picked her cuz she was the first Holland lop I saw and I fell in love with her and I don't regret that for a second. The dog I'm getting is because it's hypoallergenic, has no genetic diseases and is very rare and I love it. There are only 3 breeders in North America and no one can convince me to get another breed so I'm sorry I can't save the world and be the perfect person for you but you go keep telling everyone how to live their lives and I hope that works out well for you🙌🙌🙌 Thanks for watching!! @@peekaboosjourney No no, I was just worried peekaboo would be scared to death. I don't like seeing people fall in love with something (I do gardening and crafts) and then have something bad happen with it and say they can't do it after only one try. You have no idea how many people say they have a brown thumb or no time to learn knitting and weaving after only making a brief attempt.
And after all of that excitement I kinda felt bad going on about every mistake you made when I realized you were doing your research and not being hasty about it.
As for falling in love with Peekaboo, I don't blame you. I do occasionally question the wisdom of Roy trying to raise a bunch of bunnies like they're on a farm rather than his yard and a little apartment, but when he came downstairs with Rukia I fell in love. She did need her paws cleaned though, seriously. Stained yellow! Roy was naughty crowding her in a dirty pen with her siblings! But a few days of someplace clean and a good solid wiping with a damp cloth and a bit of water from the tap and they cleaned up nicely. And of course then legit less than an hour after I bathed Rukia I find Lennon the bunny and Lorelai going "OMG DON'T WASH YOUR RABBIT!" I kept her wrapped in a towel while she was wet so rukia was fine.
Now i just have to convince her that its not drama clipping her nails. >.> or plucking her stomach and abdomen
Beautiful set up but not practical for bunnies. Litter box is a joke, maybe pretty but useless for a bun. She will never be trained in this set out

Glad my daughter and I found another great bunny channel to watch! So good you got all your first aid supplies already! Our bunny we adopted from a bunny rescue near us, got stasis a few weeks after we got her home. It was so scary, i did tons of research so we knew to look out for that. We feed her two small salads morning and night that way we can notice if she doesn’t eat. So luckily we caught it super early and the rescue was great at helping us and we have a wonderful bunny vet really close by. Hers was caused by hair. She was shedding a lot. Sure enough after the meds she pooped out some hair covered ones. We brush her every night now while she eats and she hasn’t been sick again! @bunloaf.delilah
