Great video. Its refreshing to see todays youth using their mechanical skills and abilities other than playing video games. Keep up the great work!

Thank you! There aren't many of us, but I can say without a doubt that we mechanics have more fun than gamers!

Awesome video. I ordered same kit. You did bring attention to the two jets in the bowl are larger holes. That is true. The kit jets are all the same size which are the smaller holes. I did not switch out the bowl jets. Not sure what the effect would be. But be aware.

I pumped the needle up to 5 lbs and it would not hold, not sure what specific for it but most small engines are 6/7 lbs
Any idea what spec is ?

This is an incredible video thank you. I need some help if possible. I am cleaning my 2005 mule 3010 Mikuni carb. I took out the 2 top pilot screws, and there is no spring under them. One of the screws is damaged on the top. I can reuse it, but would like to get a new one if possible. Do you know the part number on these or where I could get a screw and spring? Also did yours have the washer and o-ring that goes under the spring?

It's been a while since I did this, but I don't remember a spring under those screws. I will check mine this afternoon to confirm, though. I got my rebuild kit from eBay, just be sure the kit you buy has new pilot screws. But don't use the main jets in the kit! I can almost guarantee that the new jets are the wrong size.

@@greenhillgarage thanks so much for getting back to me. It shows you inserting the springs before reinstalling the screws then you backed them out 3 rotations. I appreciate you checking that for me.

I looked at seat and it’s flat surface with a hole only
    It keeps flooding
I pressure treated the needle and it’s not holding even if I hold it down with my finger
    Any idea ???

Is it a new needle and seat? I have had a few get an oval pattern worn into the seat and needle. Also, these aren't meant to hold much over 3psi of fuel pressure. As long as it holds 3psi, it is good to go. You may need to install an in-line fuel pressure regulator if it is anything over 4psi.

@@greenhillgarage I didn’t get a new seat in kit just a new needle and jets which I didn’t use
It ideal’s great once I unplugged fuel pump

Got issue also , the fuel p runs continuously when key is on ! It’s supposed to pump when motor turns over .

I have a stock 3010 carb but the needle valves are not removable. I am assuming the best recourse is to soak it in cleaner.
    Great video BTW 👍

You are correct, if you can't get a jet out, soak it in carb cleaner and blow through the passage with cleaner or compressed air to be sure it is clear.
      Thanks for watching!

@@greenhillgarage just finished the carb rebuild and it idles great but dies when you give a little gas.
The gaskets were all bad and I had leaks to begin with. After cleaning I had no leaks but it always dies with throttle... any ideas???

    • @greenhillgarage
      @greenhillgarage  Рік тому +1

@@alvinmortimer7536 there could be a vacuum leak somewhere, I had one leak that took forever to find, it could also be the pilot jets are to small, try giving it a quick pull on the choke when you give it throttle. If it helps than it means the pilot jets are lean, if not then they are too rich.

Hoping safety is a big issue with you

Definitely a do as I say not as I do moment here. Unfortunately, only 3% of my viewers are younger than 25. Not many people my age that I know who are interested in anything like what I do. Most of my friends like trucks and ATVs but never work on them and would rather play video games.

I see your point and yes most kids are not learning anything but playing video games and getting way over weight 😢😢😢
