Yet another overlooked band I need to make time for. Anyone who says they're bored with rock music simply needs to take off the blinkers and explore, because it would take 10 lifetimes to barely scratch the surface of all the mindblowing music available out there 🤘

He was called Fish because he spent a long time in the bath.

Would love to have seen them around that time.Did managed to see Fish at a very low key promo tour here in Cape Town for one of his albums.Got him to sign my copy of Suits. He drank a ton of red wine with seemingly no after effects.

I saw them locally on the same tour on the 05/04.
They promised they would be back, but didn't come back straight away.
I saw them in 84 at Milton Keynes Bowl. They came back with Steve Hogarth November 2021. It was their first gig since the lockdown and they were a little rusty, but still great.

Over here in the UK they call that type of progressive rock 'neo prog'. It's prog that arrived in the early 80s. I guess the main thing is that it represents a newer generation of progressive rock that arrived on other side the UK Punk Rock scene that killed off the 1970s prog giants. It tends to use Yamaha synthesizers rather than the old Moogs and Mellotrons, the songs are often a little shorter and a bit darker too. I have a spare copy of their second album called Fugazi that I could send you but I recon the postage would cost an arm and a leg. Their third album called Misplaced Childhood is a concept album and is my favorite. I always say that it is the only record that can brig a lump to my throat. Like you say they have a sort of sadness in their music but the third album mixes in some positivity towards the end which catches you out. There were a few other bands that came out in the UK about the same time that play a similar style. Look out for IQ, Pallas and Twelfth Night. Cheers Richard, enjoy your new records!

Kayleigh was a huge hit here in South Africa before I even knew what prog was. IQ is one of my favourites. Dark matter & Road of bones are excellent
