My beautiful pet SadieKat passed away on August 8th 2024. She was a precious and mysterious lovely Calico and Siamese cat with the bluest eyes. She was my companion during the loss of a beloved relative and some health issues that I went through. I came across this song that I remember liking so very much. I ran across it at the right time. So glad I am enjoying it again. And Maria Mckee's voice is just beautiful.

This was the song my dear husband Dennis and I danced to on our wedding day. He has now passed one year and nine months, and it gives me comfort listening to it. R.I.P my love.🌹
Such is the magic of Maria McKee's enchanting voice. I guess the mystery of her charm on stage began , (genetically), at the moment of her conception. I am still rendered speechless and with a lump in my throat when I hear her sing, especially this song, even after all these years.

Was 29 in 1989 and married that same year. Been married 34 years now and this song will also be one of my top favorites. No music will ever compare to the 80s and early 90s. Times were so different and was also a time when so many great movies were made. So glad my life was part of that era.
Your correct the 80s and early 90s was the best in music and movies after mid 90s upwards most rubbish I miss those days I wish I have a time machine bring me back to my younger years.
Very correct. Many songs were thematic with clean words and clear messages. I listened to this song when in colleges in 1989. It still spies, even when I need the Angels of God Almighty to hold me, in challenging life situations that make me feel as if I am sinking. It is my lovesong to the Holy Spirit who must hold me tight unless I fall. Sounds crazy to many, but it is my Lovesong to Him my Jesus who Loved me, from ages.
Most 80's music was overproduced and awful. Before the 80's was better, believe me.
@@kit266022Most 80's music was rubbish. You're living through nostalgia. You've got to remember that garbage like Madonna, Duran Duran, Wham, etc. ruled the charts. Maria McKee only had one real hit in the UK, and none in the US. And neither did Lone Justice. Rubbish ruled the airwaves and the charts 90 percent of the time in the 1980's, 1990's, and continues today.

I am a 1955 model & heard this song on poor reception in a work truck.
They said the name of the song at the finish & I managed to scribble it down.

It always takes a few years or what have ya, for the new decade's own styles and genres to really find themselves and kick in. This song definitely sounds more Eighties than Nineties. o.o
Music of today does have meaning. Just of a different type. Think of it like what would be considered normal spoken language back in the 1800's compared to today. The same language, just separated by time - the difference is quite a lot. You still have intent and meaning in what you say, just different wording and structure.

This is by far my favorite love song. A few years ago I was looking for this version and found versions by 3 other women, but NO ONE sings this song like Maria McKee! Her voice and the instrumentation in this arrangement are so distinctive! Both are great by themselves, but put together? Wow. Just...wow. And I love the lyrics.
