- okay- what you are about to watch is a true new york experience. what originally started out as a typical nyc subway ride turned into an awesome performance by two people who have never met before. i captured the whole thing on video.
the singer continued with another great song after the entire subway car demanded an encore. her name is jessica latshaw- make sure to check out her music! buy this song on itunes: itunes.apple.co...
props to the conga player as well. check out his stuff- Quoom1.
filmed and uploaded by Matt Schwartz
Hey, kind people! Feeling grateful for the love and super good vibes. Some of you were asking about the song: it's called "ain't my friend" and you can download (a free and rough copy of it) at noisetrade--just search under my name.
This was a very cool random moment to be a part of; I love being in NYC with you all.
peace.
What a catchy tune. I come back to this time and time again through the years.
The drummer's UA-cam channel name is Quoom1
Thumbs this up so people can know.
wow, i just watched this again after 8 years, what a great performance and the vibes from the crowd!
Same here.
You got the Rasta man on the bongos with the folk singer on the ukelele and the hype man to tie them together on complete improv...and it just fits together so perfect.
"You don't have to dread to be Rasta," lol but I see what you mean.
Best part of this video is everyone is just watching and enjoying it and not on their phones recording it.
Two strangers, a white girl and a black guy, just awesome!! You would never have seen something like that not too long ago. Life is beautiful!!
The guy in black sitting next to her totally stole the scene.
salud monsonis its a woman dummy
His smile is so sweet.
@@captainkknuckles4067 It's a dude, looks nothing like a female in the whitesox hat, and he's got mustache stubble.
now this was awesome..people comming together..perfect strangers....and just enjoying the moment.....and everyone was smiling...a most positive experience...this is how it should always be......bravoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
i remember watching this about a year ago, the reason why this video is so good, apart from the performance is the facial expressions given by all passengers on the train, you sense the unity.. brought me back great vid! thank you
Thank God for the subway singer, they are like a good cup of coffee in the morning.
For everyone asking this is Jessica Latshaw and this song is available on iTunes
I agree 100%. ABSOLUTELY AWESOME, AND I CANNOTT EVEN FIND THE WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE TALENT , AND SPECIALNESS OF THIS PERFORMANCE HERE.
that song can easily become a hit imo
that dude in all black is fineeeeeee
CurlSi Divine lmao nah just my clothes on my aunts account phone is fucked
He’s falling in love with the ukulele girl as she sings too
@@captainkknuckles4067 She's got facial hair then. Though he's already come out on this thread when it happened, even if he was a lesbian, white Sox hat guy would still be hot.

Most amazing thing ever! Her voice is purely superb to say the least!!!! Watch kids as this is the real talent... Can You even compare this to s**t like Bieber and other "stars"?
I LOVE THE SWORD DANCING
Nice voice......this is a New Years treat for sure!
SHES AMAZING!
That was beautiful. I've experienced nice moments on the train, but that just blew me away.
Love that city!
I miss my hometown NYC, about time we see a awesome video instead of fighting
The singer is JessicaLatshaw (that's her channel).
Thumb this up so she gets her props...
Great vid! Makes me happy!
IS THAT LOGIC NEXT TO HER?? 😂
Officially my favorite video on the internet :)
Very Good. Music Unites!
i loved it! thank you very much for posting it! great video, great moment!
AWESOME!! I love my city!!
what a beautiful voice
I love this.
I'll jam any percussion to her voice any day. Right on 🙌🏼
LOVE!
She's got skills. Gotta love my city
Man that gave me a thrill, random....fucking awesome, girl playing ukelele, you rock! This was fun, inspiring, and everything I like about the arts and music. Random beauty.
I recommend the F line at 14th St weekdays in the afternoon. The drummer is great, but if you ride often you will have seen the trio of younger dreads on the F and A lines who absolutely rule. And if you are a singer with a guitar they'll jam with you no prob.

WHOOO the chill car
Awesome.... Good vibe
0:02 , 0:47, 0:58, 1:46 ... and mooooooooore...
This song is manufacture of smile!
That guy next to him is totally stoned. At first he's just kinda like, "Eh, this is nice." But when she starts rapping, he loses it and he can't help but smile. JUST LOOK AT HIM.
This is amazing.
What an icredible song. I have a sneaky suspicion she wrote it.
I wish the tube in London was this exciting lol
that was awesome i wish i could have been there and known what all the lyrics were loved that video
@geletmote - definitely at least 10 times - and I live in France! I keep crossing my fingers that she will get 1 million views, 'cause I'm sure that will help her get a record deal :)
Beautiful you can't help smiling, it would have been great to have been on that train, totally would make your day!
MUSIC UNITES
@Th3RedX This is an original written by Jessica
@recobafan Yes it is original - search for Jessica Latshaw.
That guy's just like "Im so fuckin stoooooned!"
After all the crap I've seen on videos lately showing all sorts of bad behaviors on "Train Subway Lines," around the world. It was a delight to finally see one that I thought was pretty cool, only in New York City !
Cordoba ukuleles will now be flying off the store shelves..... :-)
This makes me proud to be a new Yorker
Bad ass!!! Loved it!!! :)
I think she made it up its a good song
thank you for this!
I hear u...sometimes..it's not the right timing....but that's when those headphones and ipod come in handy...this is NYC...SO IT'S NOTHING NEW.
Jessica Latshaw. :)
video still being featured on my channel!!!
I remember how quick this was reaching 1,000,000 views
... "and cut, paparazzi." lol.
lol i cant get over the dude that keeps talking to the camera haha
look at sox cap guy reaction haha
Lol the guy comes in listen carefully ladies and gentlemen.
That woman looks like Dana Plato. Amazing to see a black and a white work together.
i wish stuff like this happened in england
This is pretty kewl=]
awesome ..
n.y.c is cool .. i grew up in n.y.c. the buildings and food are awesome .. but the rent and the crime are not ..
Why I can never be on the train when something good like that happens I'm always the lucky one to have someone Ranting about going to jail and murdering someone and unable to get a job and then sticking a bag in my face asking for money then replies at least i'm not stealing... the NY subways memories
I know the girl's name is listed, but is this an original song of hers? If not, what is the title of the song she is singing, who is it originally by?
2:27 That guy next to you has some pretty white Dr. Dre's.
@OneLessTheist Are you sure thats the A? I think its the J
qual o nome da musica? alguém sabe?
Guy on the right in the hoodie thinking how much he can get for the banjo
who's opal?
the guy wearing headphones
it must have been ackward when they stopped to play and waited for their station...
nice
@geletmote And disrespect for the guy who kept his beats on...
@dannykauf NICE
Mon pire scénario de cauchemard
I think ive seen her youtube channel any1 rmmbr it?
DC never gets anything like that. people just throw bottles of piss at ya at the train stations...
Me and my friends do that here in Texas... Someone threw something at me
The old asian lady is looking at the girl and thinking " Y U NO BLACK???"
cut paparazzi......
They made me miss my stop.
@dannykauf haha sorry man youre right i probably should do that instead of leaving negative comments and talking shit but trolling is just o so much fun!! trololololol jajajajjaa
"...aand cut paparazzi" :D
guy standing on the right at 2:14 was loving it
Wish I seen more of the dude in the bongos
0:45 that genuine smile gives me goosebumps aswell :)
I'm here in 2020. With all the despair right now, this reminds me of how wonderful this city is and why NYC will never die. Scenes like this can never be duplicated on Zoom.
there was like a good 8 years of just chill NYC subway from like 2012 to 2019 where crime in NYC was at historic lows. Post pandemic the subway is a mess and feels mad dangerous. i take that shit everyday and im always on edge.
Never again
Yes TBW I agree with you in 2023... So much has happened since this video was made and from where I'm standing things have certainly NOT improved...
Also people's behavior has left a lot to be desired..
This beautiful video has a charm and delight about it, both of which have been lost in such a short period of time..😢❤
I wish this would happen in London......... but it woulnd't, because compared to NYC its boring 'stuck in the mud' people wouldn't allow it or appreciate it ! ... this is Living life !! well done NYC !
are you good? NYC is known for having the most dull lifeless people in public transit
I have found that thanks to youtube there is a gazillion really talented people in this world who we would never had have the chance to see and hear. Great stuff from real people
music just connects the dots between humans and their souls
