I just made this dish (the bones are still on our plates), it's surprising how tender and juicy and crispy the chicken turned out. I think the beauty of this dish is it can go with any types of sauces. Thank you for the recipe!
I used the air fryer with my chicken wings today and tweaked the sauce a bit. It was soooo good! Coated the wings in rice flour mixed with some baking soda, garlic powder and salt/pepper. Airfried for 350F 12 mins.. flipped then 400F for 10 mins. For the sauce I used a bit less honey and sugar and added a bit more soy sauce and white vinegar. It was like this heavenly sweet mild and tangy flavor.
You missed adding tomatoes ketchup :P In case you want to know the temperature: Preheat the oven to 120°C/250°F, Bake in the oven for 30 minutes. Increase oven heat to 200°C/390°F and cook for another 45 minutes or until crispy and cooked through.
I keep on making this, and it is GORGEOUS. I made one small change to the sticky honey sauce though, I add an equal amount of chopped ginger to the amount of garlic. It adds just a lovely kick to it!
Baking wings is so much healthier than frying! I started baking my wings about a year ago and I swear by it! Is it as crispy as frying? Of course not but it's close. And to me, having a little less crispy is worth being much more healthy. And FYI, if you add just a little bit of corn starch to the baking powder, it will also help give them some extra crisp. If you love wings but feel guilty after eating them, baking them is a must try!
Hi Marion , I made ur recipe yesterday. The chicken was perfectly cooked in the oven. Made the sauce, added little chilli flakes ( like things spicy), added brown sugar instead of white. Pour the sauce over the chicken and it was damn yummy. Me and my sister couldn't stop eating until we finished all. Thanks for such a wonderful recipe. ❤ the chicken was crispy outside and tender inside, the sweet and spicy both flavors were delicious.
@@suzanneglavas6044 I did it kind of my own way starting @30 mins 350 bake then depending on how they looked if you see blood coming out, up the heat to about 400 bake for another 30 mins. Hope this works for you!
Hi Marion, I just did this yesterday with chicken wings. It came out crispy and awesome! Great video, did so many of your recipes and they were all so delicious!! ❤❤🇨🇦🇨🇦
Thanks for this efficient technique. Much easier than drying in the fridge for 3 hours. I added cornstarch. Sprinkled the salt after laying wings on pan. Fatty side down 1st. 20 minutes. Cooking spray then flip. Salt sprinkle. 5 minutes more. Cooking spray then crank to 400.
I used this method tonight for baking the chicken. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The chicken came out perfectly. I don't have wire racks, so I put the drumsticks directly onto the oven rack with a pan underneath.
This recipe was a big family hit!!!🔥🔥🔥 Very delicious. Followed the recipe and then added a bit of red chili flakes to the sticky sauce for a bit of heat. I was worried about it being too sweet but it was honestly perfect. I lightly coated each drumstick individually before plating. Served it with jasmine rice and a korean salad. 🤤🤤🤤

Marrion we have just finished dinner. Your chicken with your fried rice. That was AWESOME. My husband had his doubts cause the chicken was only spiced with salt. But afterwards he was 100% convinced. This will become a regular.
I just baked it and it was life changing. Very good. I will use this method from now on. I prefer this texture. I seasoned the chicken a little more but that’s all. Thanks.
Hello from Oregon! This was the best tasting baked chicken I have done in 10 years! Such a simple recipe and thank God I was too exhausted to mess with it by adding more seasoning! I had thawed some chicken legs to deep fry the next day but ended up having to take my mom to the hospital for worsening back pain and it turned out she had to have surgery. But before that I spent 8 + hours a day for the last three days assisting my mom because the hospital was not communicating anything and my mom kept calling all night in a panic because one minute they were preparing her for surgery and the next they were telling her they had been mistaken then the fiasco would start all over with the next shift and the many doctors. Needless to say I had a total of 4 hours sleep in 3 days and It’s a wonder I didn’t end up in a car accident traveling the 51 mile round trip every day to the hospital to intervene in the circus my moms care had become. I came home tonight to unthawed chicken legs that had to be dealt with or ditched and with today’s food prices off the charts I had to get it done before I could collapse into bed. I went looking on UA-cam for a simple baked chicken leg recipe and your channel came up with this video. Normally I would have added a lot more seasoning and basted the chicken once while baking because I would think your recipe was not seasoned enough but I had no energy left and was nigh on delirious from sleep deprivations so I followed your recipe exactly except I didn’t have any honey so I thought I would just do the baking now and save the sauce making for later after I sleep for a really long time. The chicken came out crispy on the outside, juicy inside and the flavor with just the baking powder and salt was too good to be true! That chicken didn’t even need that sauce to be fantastic! That sauce was just an added benefit but the chicken could stand on its own two feet without it! Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe and Thank you God for teaching me that humbling myself by trusting someone else’s recipe without monkeying with it is a virtue and could yeild surprising and wonderful discoveries.
I can't wait to make this tomorrow for dinner. Looks so good. I will put the honey sof sauce on the side in case not everyone wants honey soy sauce. What would you eat with your chicken? I'm thinking salad or hot veggies with or without boiled rice.
So I just got done making this and you timing and temperature for cooking the chicken is so spot on! Can’t thank you enough for this video! I didn’t have corn starch so I improvised and used bread crumbles and I gotta say I did a quick taste test and very pleased with this! Thank you so much! You’re awesome and if I might add you’re absolutely beautiful
Nice! Especially the sauce. Very tasty and the acidity is just right. The skin was crispy. I marinade with salt, pepper and sesame oil few hours before, pat dry before putting into the oven and it didnt affect the crispiness. But you need to serve the chicken immediately or else the skin will get soften over time.
We're preparing 2 lots of chicken drumsticks and thighs today. I'm using your recipe for the thighs. I checked the website and didn't see the 30min oven temperature so have set at 140 degrees Celsius before the 200 setting at 45mins x
Hi Marion, Absolutely amazing flavor and the crunchiness of the chicken WOW!!!! I am not usually one to comment but this recipe was so easy to follow and quick, my entire family loved it... Thank you for sharing
I was looking for a healthier alternative to deep frying and found this recipe!!!! My drumsticks were sooooo crispy and delicious! This will be my go to technique for oven baked crispy chicken! Thank you Marion!!!!!
Made this a week or so ago. I only had 1.5 pounds of chicken instead of the 3 pounds the recipe called for. I made the full recipe for the sticky honey sauce and saved the left over sauce. I used about a third of it in the meat mix for a meatloaf, the rest I reduced some more and added some ketchup to make a glaze for the meatloaf. Both the chicken and the meatloaf came out fantastic.
I just made this for lunch, and my honey who doesn't like chicken drumsticks says, "Mmmm, what did you do to this chicken? It's not half bad"...yes, that was the biggest possible compliment he would ever offer for a food he normally despises. Thank you for the tips and next time, I'll probably go a tinge lighter on the amount of baking powder. Otherwise, delicious and I'll be making it again really soon. Thank you, Marion!
