💯that it was a reprint. Exactly like my copy. The print is darker on the back than a real one. I look at that card everyday and wish it were real…….if only………
Oh! Man that sucks about the Tom Brady. In 2000 I pulled two sweet Tom Brady rookies. The SPX and the short print Pacific numbered to 181. I traded both the same year for a Kurt Warner RC hand numbered which is not worth those Brady's. But a few years ago I picked up the Tom Brady Gold Reserve rookie cheap and still have it. My friend passed on the 1990 Topps no name Frank Thomas for $30. Great video. 🙂

I’ve made a ton of memorabilia mistakes but my biggest card mistake was selling a jordan rookie that I pulled from a pack as a kid far too soon - got it graded ( a 7) and sold it in the 2000’s for a fraction of what they bring now
so i pulled a juan soto auto rc out of a hanger box, at time i knew it was a good pull but thought i should get rid of it while it was worth something, sold it for $118 and 2 months later he wins the world series and that card prolly worth close to if not $1000 now.. i pulled a wander franco ssp rc out of a hanger box and at time was like a $5000+ card so im like i should hang on to this one prolly a $5 card now lol smfh
Sorry to hear that. I live in the Tampa Bay Area and there were so many people here who got screwed on their Wander Franco cards. I have a lot of buddies who lost thousands on him.
What planet are you from that you think that's a $5000 card? Dec 20th sale on E-Bay for $100. Previous sale before that $199. My dude, there was one "sale" on E-Bay for $5000 which was an auction. And the seller relisted the card, which means the bidder didn't buy it! At $30, it was a good deal, but its not a $5000 card by a longshot!
2 things i want to tell you : 1- you can’t consider something you didn’t buy cause you didn’t felt it was worth much as a ‘lost’. A lost is something you actually purchased and sell for less than you bought it for. 2- you did got out of there with a pretty good deal for what you picked up. I understand how you feel but i think i can be the voice of all collectors here by saying that we all have passed on cards that thought were not worth much by going in bins. It’s all about the knowledge of the cards and it’s simply impossible to know everything since the variety is so wide if you consider you need to know about 4 major sports + everything that is not sports related.. So don’t sleep on it for too long, you’ll rebound off this.. :-)

biggest mistake i ever made was selling my Great Grandfathers Lou Gehrig 33 & 34 Goudey cards he gave back in 1987 and till this day i have dreams of "what if i did not visit the local shop "Kard King" and get hustled 🤔 sold the 2 cards in "trade for JUNK WAX ERA and that was 1989 1990 junk for $300.00 all i saw $$$$ for trade....Biggest mistake ever and did not know better i was very young.......Funny thing is though my father says all the time that Great Grandpa slaps me when i don't expect it....🤣 like he haunts me or some stuff like that....Either way they were awesome cards to own for awhile brought them to school for Show and Tell sometimes.....Good memories and Bad 💯✌
@@WAUK-TOWN74 wow! Crazy cards to own. Love the story especially the part about him haunting you 😂. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for sharing this and bummer on the loss dude I feel your pain but hey you got some other great deals so still a win just not as good as it could of been and my biggest loss was In 1992 my uncle took me to go get some stuff from our local convenience store and he let me buy a pack of score well I pulled at that time my biggest hit and I pulled a Joe DiMaggio auto well after going home put in my top loader well a little while later as we lived in a trailer my mom owned she lost the trailer while having it in storage as she had moved us into an actual house that card was in it and I lost it always missed that card not so much for its fiscal value as much as the sentimental value and now 30 years later I still miss that card
That would have been an awesome card to own. At least you hang the memory of pulling it from a pack. As a kid I would have lost my mind pulling that out, lol.
Ugh sorry man - that sucks - great video though - we all make mistakes and I agree the back of that card with the mail away info doesn’t make it look overly exciting. I’ve made a ton of memorabilia mistakes but my biggest card mistake was selling a jordan rookie that I pulled from a pack as a kid far too soon - got it graded ( a 7) and sold it in the 2000’s for a fraction of what they bring now
Thanks man. It was rough. Jordan rookie is on my card bucket list.
so i pulled a juan soto auto rc out of a hanger box, at time i knew it was a good pull but thought i should get rid of it while it was worth something, sold it for $118 and 2 months later he wins the world series and that card prolly worth close to if not $1000 now.. i pulled a wander franco ssp rc out of a hanger box and at time was like a $5000+ card so im like i should hang on to this one prolly a $5 card now lol smfh
That would make me feel better. I watched that auction live back in November live when it ended. That day has haunted me.
No cell phone service to look up the Brady... dude, it was not meant to be.
This is true. You are right.
I dont believe it, after you stopped recording you bought that Brady Rc. 😂
I really wish that was the case. The back of the card threw me off.
Nolan Ryan Rookie Card - I bought it ang lost it on the way home.
@@chadcooper1615 no way! Did you have any idea on how that happen?
Nope, either fell into my pocket or someone swiped it off me
Damn dude...it happens! I sold a patrick mahomes 2nd year Autograph from certified football #/50 smh 🤦
Oh no...I am sure that one haunts you.
Its ok you win and sometimes you loss
@@coreymcdaniels9910 you are def right. I just use this as a learning experience.
Amateur mistake putting the brady back
@@PIP-zf9yb you don’t say, lol
Ugh, get em next time
I’m sure there will be plenty of more times like this.
Great points! Thank you!
Fake or not !!! Only 30$ bring it home and do authenticity to get 5000$. Very worth to risk and gamble
I had no idea what the kind was at the time. I should have bought it.
