- Brandon Lee plays main character Eric Draven in THE CROW. He was accidentally killed by a dummy bullet onset while filming a pivotal scene. The actor Michael Massee fired the gun but it was in no way his fault. The scene was completed using a stunt double and CGI. RIP Brandon Lee!

If I remember from watching the DVD commentary, the zoom in of fun boy’s hand and the gun, 2 seconds or less of his zoomed in hand, is the only actual footage from Lee’s death that is in the film. The rest is gone.
Brandon Lee would've become a huge star. The guy had it all.
100% Tragedy followed the Lee name. Loved Bruce and Brandon Lee
He didn't though. Ffs why can't the crow fans watch it and admit he was not the best actor, he was OK but nothing special

Fun Fact: Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick franchise, was a stuntman for Keanu Reeves in The Matrix and before that, was Brandon Lee’s stuntman in The Crow, one of them at least.
Keanu & Brandon would be almost the same age today if Brandon was still alive.
I believe that if Brandon didn’t die, he would’ve taken Keanu’s spot in The Matrix franchise.
And Brandon will be our John Wick
There are amazing videos on UA-cam of Brandon Lee deep faked onto Keanu Reeves and select scenes from the matrix! As good as Keanu Reeves was in the movies it’s heartbreaking to know what could’ve been
ua-cam.com/video/bJ8vLI_UPeA/v-deo.html
Fun fact
Speculating about dead people playing lead roles in movies that they couldn't make an appearance in is futile
HOLY CRAP! THANK YOU! When I first saw The Matrix, about 15 minutes into it, I was thinking "Brandon Lee should be playing that part!" I've been telling people that for YEARS! I know that this will come as a surprise, but The Crow is my favorite movie of all time, and in the near 30 years since it came out, no other movie has ever come CLOSE! And I'm so pissed they're talking about a reboot! Don't make another movie with Eric. Just make a new Crow character!
Can we address how traumatic this must’ve been for the actors to return to this location and continue with the scene that took brandon lees life? Like imagine telling Michael masse to hold and fire this gun again?!?! Unimaginable
💯💯
There's actually an interview with Michael Massee (pretty sure you can find it easily on this site) where he opens up about what happened that day and how there wasn't a day that went by that he didn't feel guilt over Brandon Lee's death. Just looking at his face, you can tell how haunted he is and it's sad to think that he lived the rest of his life with that guilt and it wasn't even his fault.
Michael quit acting after that movie for over a year til a friend talked him back into it. Masse has left us since then and I'm sure Brandon and him got together for a chat.
So that's not the real Brandon Lee in the rest of the film?..he was shot in the beginning of the film so someone else played him the rest of the film?
@kennyg.6608 it's was the last scene shot almost everything else is Brandon
They still don't need to remake this movie and the fact that they're f****** trying right now is horrible and disrespectful
Me and my girlfriend love the crow and Brandon lee we’re not gonna watch the remake
This movie is one of the best movies I’ve ever seen
Just heard they are making a remake
@@jamesmccaster3648a garbage one at that

Let’s go Brandon!
I listen to the entire Crow movie sound track every Halloween. It still rocks ! Peace and warm winds to you Brandon .
Omg same… I feel an urge to put the make up on too, it’s almost euphoric when I do. 🌹🕊
that rooftop solo! deadly
Best soundtrack ever 👌
After 30 years later The Crow is still a awesome movie
R.i.p Brandon Lee
I was 15 when this movie 🎬 debut in theaters... I walked almost 2miles to a local theater to see this masterpiece... RIP BRANDON LEE...
Is t it crazy how kids don’t walk anymore. We walked everywhere or took the bus.
Same here
I love this movie so damn much. For 1993 they did a really good job with the CGI. It’s tragic what happened on that set but I’m so glad that they ended up completing the film. It’s a beautiful way to honor Brandon Lee 🌹🕊
Because his family wanted to finish the movie 😢
R.i.p you will never be forgotten
Buildings burn
You did die
But your memory will live on forever
I saw the crow last night and thought he was so good in this movie. I didn’t know he died while making this movie. May he RIP. Wow 30 years since his death.❤️
I learned something new with this. I was always under the impression that he was killed during the scene towards the end where all the thugs at the table shoot Brandon all at once while he's standing on it. I just assumed they used a different take. But i didn't even know about the shot of him in this scene that actually took his life. Thanks for that
@pukeymcphistyJC yeah, everybody thinks that, but they actually filmed this movie backwards. The last scenes were some of the first scenes Filmed and the first scenes were the last scenes filmed.
What's crazy is I've also heard a lot of people said it was a scene towards the end of the money in the church and a bullet went through the pew and killed him. Obviously not what happened but was interesting rumor for awhile.
I still get emotional when I watch this movie. Its a masterpiece.
Thank you for posting this. I never knew which part was digitally edited. I think they did a great job with what they had.
That music just really gets me with that scene and knowing what happened
I saw this in the theater 13 times. R.I.P. Brandon
Best movie and soundtrack ever.
And they had the best man for the job
Still hurts my heart
For people wondering this film was shot backwards and this scene takes place near the beginning of the film.
It’s sad when you know they had literally DAYS left not even a full week of filming…and he was engaged and set to be married April 17th, he was laid to rest April 3rd.
I hate the fact that they have gone out and remade this movie with Bill Skarsgard. There were so many other crows they could have chosen. Eric’s story died with Brandon, and should remain that way out of respect.
R.I.P. Brandon Lee.
Yes. Very tragic. Brandon was engaged and died before getting married just like Eric Draven RIP
Brandon was buried April 3rd but he actually died on the day of March 31st when they rushed him to hospital care
@@sinner2death yeah I meant to put he was laid to rest April 3rd. That whole situation is sad, they didn’t even know he was actually shot until he didn’t get up, they just thought he was acting so well.
There can be only 1 crow and that's Brandon Lee
Agree
I’m from Wilmington NC, i remember when this happened, my sister worked at the hospital he passed away at 😞 RIP Brandon Lee. TMNT 1990 was also filmed at same studio
My favorite movie of all time. RIP Brandon Lee.
This was so sad that he passed away so young 😢😢
Such an amazing indie film movie. Brandon killed it in the crow that I thought he was method acting. He died too soon
Long live Brandon Lee ❤🙏
He will always be the best CROW IN MY EYES RIP BRANDON LEE!!! A legend gone way too soon from this world.
I can’t believe its been 30 years
I remember this like it was yesterday. It was such a huge movie after that. It's an amazing movie and the soundtrack is killer. There were so many rumors speculating that he had been purposely killed and that his father had too😢
Bruce Lee had betrayed his Kung Fu older masters amongst him by teaching that blacks and whites were allowed to study Wing Chun except those masters didn't like it so they sent a Kung Fu Master named Wong Jack Man. Bruce won that fight and won his right to teach anyone not chinese his Wing Chun Kung Fu. Bruce died from taking some headache medicine later in his life from a friend. He layed down and never woke up. He was in perfect physical health when he died.
He was so sweet
the scene where Eric Draven kills T bird at the dock was not Brandon either it was his stunt double but with BRandon's face digital. If you notice in the kills scenes of revenge the only one he doesn't speak to is T bird from what I've seen and read about it
Didn’t know this 🌹🕊
Probably my favourite scene. T Birds anger, bargaining, realisation, Haunting shit.
I knew this wasn't Brandon but I do love the idea of Eric hiding his face before his transformation.
RIP Beautiful Brandon Lee 😭💔
Rest In Heaven, Brandon ❤
Rip Brandon
I thought Brandon's last scene when the kids trick or treating run down the sidewalk and he's laughing and.smiling with the kids..the scene freezes for about 5 seconds.Anyone thought that as well?
His death is one of those things that will always break my heart. Anytime I revisit, I tear up at some point before moving on.
Rumor has it Mike Massee (RIP) was hit so hard mentally after the death of Brandon Lee (RIP) that he quit acting after this movie.
Michael Massee took a year off after Brandon Lee's death. He spent time with his own friends and family. See Extra t.v. show interview.
@@christinestephens37 I YT search and found the 2005 interview. I didn't like the female interviewer b/c she was making Massee seem like he was a careless Idiot she made a comment: "That wasn't suppose to happen." NO SHIT. Outside of that you can tell during that interview Massee was still in pain discussing it. What happen was a unfortunate tragedy and not MM fault.
@@christinestephens37 Brandon lee would be very proud that michael massee didn't quit acting after his tragic accident. I'm sure he had severe PTSD that drove other directors crazy when it involves guns. But he wanted to make sure no one ended up like brandon lee.
He is truly talented at playing villains like ira gains from 24. I think he enjoys playing villains a lot. 😅
I remember seeing him pop up in Tales from the Hood and Lost Highway, but despite being in character for those films, his eyes just don't look the same, he looks haunted.
Everyone made a fuss about fast and furious being finished with cgi for Paul Walker this was done cgi mid 90's not long after a commodore 64. This was brilliant.
The best movie ever
My father named me after him
Sheer lies
Lets go Brandon!
@@David-vg8lx my name is brandon , my pops always said he named me after brandon lee , I don’t know why it has to be lies , you don’t know me or my family

Fuck we lost a legend so sad!
They really continued after that…
He died way too soon and this was all time favorite movie
I seen this movie with my father when I was about 11
The theater was Full of Bikers It was a super fun movie to watch in the theater
God rest his soul. Fuck the remake coming out. Some movies you don't remake.
Its so sad how he died. He couldve become a movie legend if it never happened. I would bet the guy who played funboy was destroyed mentally after what happened during that scene
I cant even barely remember the movie itself, just started watching it on tv. couple years ago..a good few years ago it was huge back then on cable tv. A complete new movie from the tv audience.
...nos corresponde mantener vivas las leyendas épicas....thanks for the video...
I grew up watching this at like age 6 or 7. My parents told me he died during filming but it’s crazy to know how it actually occurred at my current age and how they just picked the movie off after that. It’s really shocking to me that they would even end up putting his face as a “cgi body falling.” Watching rn in 2024 because of the current release of the new crow trailer. Hoping it will be somewhat okay.
That’s not a cgi face on the falling body. That’s actually Brandon. There is behind the scenes footage showing him rigged up to a crane 🏗️ & the camera 🎥 is above him getting the shot which lifts him up & down!
@@GoldenAgeSk8Video so he was already shot during that time of the falling? Even sadder!
Brandon is the man
I always thought he was shot in the scene with the gang sitting at that long table.
Chinese Tríad killed Bruce and Brandon
Kool movie! Loved the costume.. RIP
Wow he died exactly one day after I was born 😞
Tragically taken but at least he went out with a masterpiece as did Heath Ledger. RIP
The fact there is a footage of the moment Brandon was shot, is so eerie.
I cannot fathom how his mother felt. First her husband and then her son die in such tragic circumstances.
Rest in peace to Brandon 🕊
💯🖤🔥 For Brandon Lee for lifetimes
Wasn't the director of John wick his stunt double?
Yes he was!
Brandon Lee was practically destined for a role like The Matrix, but passed too soon
„Tell me a story“
Did this scene inspire cowboy bebop?
The digital fill in FITS the movie though. As incredibly horrific as it was to lose Brandon Lee unnecessarily, this scene looks like it was SUPPOSED to be almost superimposed & bit unrealistic and uncanny. It's a beautiful lead up to Eric Draven's actualization of becoming the vengeful hunter of those that wronged him. It's as if he's gaining his resolve to avenge the wrongs he witnessed and were his ultimate undoing mortally. Truthfully, it's one of my favorite scenes BECAUSE it's just a little bit off and seems wholly intentional, even if you know the back story going in. One of my all time favorites that I watch repeatedly throughout each year. It's a comfort to all who know the secrets of The Divine Universe and the powers it uses and is able to infuse temporarily into mortals for the purpose of keeping the delicate balance in tact. I really hope the "theys" have dedicated the new 2024 remake to the memory of Brandon Lee. Not to do so is insanely uncouth and arrogant.
Wow, so he was killed in what was the first part of the movie. I thought it was the later scene when he’s shot at by the massive group of bad guys. It is a great movie and he would’ve definitely risen to the heights of Keanu and other A listers. They did a great job at completing the movie. Wish he was still here. 😢
Somebody said that the role of Neo in the Matrix would have went to Brandon Lee. I can see that. I also believe he would have been John Wick too.
Just watched it last night. It has aged very well for having came out 30 years ago, i remember i used to love this movie when i was like 12, i had no business watching this 😂
a good chunk of the films budget went towards the cgi and green screen effects they needed to do to finish the sceens Brandon didnt get to. The body double for Brandon went on to direct the John Wick movies btw..that has nothing to do with anything, just an interesting factoid.
One movie and he’s a legend imagine the stuff he would’ve done…his father too what a crazy coincidence
I'd like to just take a second and reiterate that this guy died tragically to make this great film. And those effects are amazing given they are from 1993
I want to say that this was a very sad movie for all the wrong reasons. This movie cost Brandon lee his life and Michael massee had to endure a lifetime of haunted guilt and pain to his grave.
Rip Brandon lee and Michael massee!
Makes so much sense that his face when falling was digital. I always thought his face looked odd then.
Who was there behind the scene when young Brandon Lee got shot accidentally by I think the producer,,who was in charge of the Gun 🔫 was it Jeff Imada,, did he had friends inside the place behind the scene, and Why he Lied about not being there
My youngest brother was named after this movie his first and middle name is brandon lee
Michael Masse said once the movie came out he never watch the movie because of what happened to Brandon 😢rip
No, wrong. The shot where he is falling was NOT done digitally. There is behind the scenes footage showing Brandon hooked up to a rig that has him falling down & pulled back up with the camera 🎥
but he did do the scene of being hoisted from being dropped from the window.. they played it in reverse to seem as he fell..
EXACTLY. The video authors are WRONG on this “CGI face on falling body” statement.. 😑 🤦♂️ 😒
I believe the Sting (WWE) based his perona off The Crow / Brandon Lee
ya think? lol
111th comment, i remember watching this from my first own tv😸 i think i gotta see this again
Pretty sure they deleted the actual footage and that's OK he would have been a super star so sad
What a shame
Brandon Lee's fatal scene isnt the one you showed. Its when he gets shot in the apartment room when it goes through his hand and then he gets shot several more times. This was disclosed in a documentary
I love this movie and refuse to see the remake.
There is another scene where they used it twice as well . Only people that basically grew up with this movie would be able to tell , I. Hope they never redo it.
They are redoing it with bill skarsgard 😢 & some pictures have been released recently.
All this time I thought it was during that last shootout of the movie
It was. This clip isn’t it.
That’s what I said about Brandon Lee’s murder like if you look closely at the scene where he gets shot, it was actually the guy that was playing T-bird it wasn’t Michael Masse
"And I'll Say i'm dead, and i move."
that was such a great movie is was awesome
My ❤ will always be 💔
💔💔💔🇵🇹🌹🌹🌹
Bro was murdered
Yeah but those aren't even the scenes that he was shot in... he was shot by the main bad guy (forget his name) you can find interviews about it... it wasn't funboy who shot him.
😢
So when his character was being killed in the movie the real actor was actually killed. Thats creepy af how did the crew finish that without being creeped tf out and quitting?
They toughed it out
@@93mlo I understand professionalism but damn that's chilling. I'm willing to bet a copy of the original death shooting still exists somewhere. Wouldnt that have to be presented in the court case even?
@@mentlincyes, it’s still in the Wilmington, North Carolina police department archives. You can’t legally destroy evidence.
Isn't it weird they didn't record this scene which happens pretty early in the movie until the end of shooting? 🤔 it's almost like they planned on his death happening..
They all did a great job considering the circumstances
Or actually no I thought wrong it was him but it wasn’t just him who shot Brandon Lee, it was also the actor that played T-bird
RIP BEAUTIFUL 😇🌹🙏🏿😞 RIGHT NEXT TO YOUR BEAUTIFUL FATHER 😞🌹😇🙏🏿💕 I'M WATCH THIS TONIGHT ❤️🙏🏿💪🏿💕
I always thought it was the bedroom scene with Darla and funboy.
I'm surprised they didn't just deep fake bill skarsgards face over Lee's and re-release this as a new movie.
What an absolute tragedy.
