That's why alot of people say NRL gig is one of the toughest. We are a tough crowd to please. And plus, they're not drunk yet! lol But overall, as a Rugby League fan, I can say Ricky was amazing. I'll be honest when I heard he was pre-match entertainment I was like WTF? But he was surprisingly enjoyable. But you're right. Sydney crowds need to get more excited!

lol yes us Rugby League fans are a hard bunch to impress. Most don't react to anyones performance unless it's a rock band like ACDC. (Unless you're Tina Turner singing Simply the best). Jess Mauboy being the face this year has helped a bit with softening the hardcore fans who associate Rock music with NRL. Ricky & Jess were incredible & I've heard alot of NRL fans say it was one of the best pre-match entertainment ever. The tv commentator even said it was the best. So thank u Ricky & Jess!

i agree with you but to be fair we went to the game for the rugby, if we wanted to go for music we would have gone to one direction next door and he only peformed for like 8 minutes and where youw ere sitting you couldnt really get into it so cant blame the crowd to be honest.
Why was the audience not into the performance? Because these are rugby fans, most of whom are men, and they just don't like Ricky Martin, and that's fine. I think Ricky was a really poor choice to perform at the NRL.
