I agree, tip taxes ought to be removed (or at least looked at to see if we can afford it).
That being said, it should be noted that they were not introduced by the current government, but back in 1982, under the Reagan Administration (though I have no clue if this was a specific policy objective of his administration or just something the Dems in congress slapped on at the last minute, Congress was dominated by dems back then after all).

I always do that. But no tax means I can still charge it knowing the tip will not be taxed. Means I get my credit back or points back too.
It will never be enough the government could take 125 percent of the United States income in taxes and they would spend 250%. The government takes in more than enough tax revenue however they are incredibly wasteful in spending it the US military will spend $10,000 on an oil pressure switch that cost $100 they don't bother keeping track of the expenses because it's not their money.

Yes they are..and most business give you a percentage of your tips and the rest is shared with other staff...ask before you leave a big one...there not getting it😢

Tax on tips should be an infringement
The system we have here in the USA is an abomination. Tips aren't a gratuity, a showing of gratitude for exceptional service, it is paying the wages the employer WILL NOT pay the worker. Think of the bonus system that many white collar workers have. It is ABOVE their wages, not in place of it.
They will get paid regardless. Without tips, prices go up 15 to 20 percent across the board, probably more because of the employee taxes.
@@Michael-uy5yz I don't care what will happen to prices as long as they are getting paid for their labor by the employer. For the consumer it is a wash, break even after no longer tipping.
well guess what you ask any server in the industry they'll take the tips over $20 per hour. The incentive to work harder and better is also there with the tips system..

Also with paying the low minimum wage amount, the business losing out on claims, forcing them to raise prices to offset the employees low wage claim amount. If they can claim paying more to employees, it actually helps them
