Of course this was 'prepan', but hopefully they've had time to get staffed up and it'll be fabulous! the small, disappointing chocolate buffet, doesn't even exist now. The havana area is no longer open to guests not staying in Havana area even after 7. OH how times have changed! Well that liquid lounge seating still sucks, but based on your other video about that, I know where I'm going to try to sit!! Wish me luck! I've sailed on Vista twice, and never got a seat where I could actually see the entire stage. Third time's the charm? thanks again guys, always helpful.

A very good presentation. I agree with you about Havana spa area. A total waste of area that could be better used for other things, or just an open walking area to enjoy an evening at sea. It's beginning to feel and look like they are cramming too much into too small of an area, and I think we share the same thoughts on how they've gradually taken many things away from us. Twenty or so years ago, before they got the brilliant idea bigger is better, Carnival had a great thing going. My evenings were spent aft where it was me and a full moon on a quiet ocean. Today we are finding ourselves dancing around chase loungers and fighting with other obstacles just to reach a place where we can stop and breathe in the surroundings without being tackled or pushed by someone who doesnt care about the quality the cruise is offering. We are sailing on this ship, Dec 3, celebrating wife's birthday. We haven't sailed for three years, covid nonsense kept us away from Miami but now I'm hoping it's a little more relaxed. If they are still requiring shots, we won't go, but I am hoping we'll get on board and into room 9206. Thanks for your informative vlog,excellent work. Happy sailing to you both.

We LOVED the Horizon! Strolling around the ship at night, going from one entertainment venue to another, and all of them great. I agree about the food. I remember that whatever I put in my mouth, was at worst “good” but more often than not, extremely good! Guy Fieri’s had the best burgers and that’s where I had lunch every day. And the cakes were over the top ! Can’t wait to go on it again.

We're thinking booking a cruise on the Horizon. We're not partying people. Would you recommend ir would it better to book with Princess cruise instead.
When you say non-party, do you mean you "won't be drinking and dancing" or do you mean "you want a nice quiet spot by the pool to read a book"? You can find quiet spots on Carnival for sure, but public areas will most likely have music, drinking and entertainment going on. If you are looking for more luxury and less party, then Princess is the way to go.
Thanks for the recap. I wish they would play Can't Stop the Feeling on first formal night in MDR like they do on rest of the fleet. Past tired of hearing Celebration. But they have shows & features exclusive to them.
Celestial Strings was great and I LOVED Event Horizon...they were finishing their contract for a much deserved rest on our cruise so we got to see their last show. We didn't go into the Havana pool area at all, next time I guess! For the liquid lounge we sat up top because I have tiny children lol, they couldn't see anything in a regular seat. All in all though I thought it was a fantastic cruise!
I LOVED the Havana area. I did pay extra for the room and it was worth every penny and will book it again. I enjoyed that I did not have to get up at dawn to lay in a lounger in order to have one for the day, and that they did not have 15 small kids in the hot tubs all day. Also, I did not book on the new Mardi Gras because the Havana area was so lacking Other than that I agree with your review.
This will be our second time on a vista class ship and also the second time booking a Havana cabana. I would like to just point out that this is exactly the reason we pay $500 more mark up for the Havana cabins because of the privacy. Sounds like y’all might be a little jealous of the people who have access to that area.
Not really, although it's a very nice area. I prefer to get out and about around the ship and meet people. It seems like a lot of people in the Havana tend to hang out in there a lot. I would love the pool area for a day but then i would want to venture out around the ship.
Good review guys. I mostly agree with your take however we stayed in Havana just last week and the private pool area was PACKED every Sea Day. There were not even enough chairs and beds for all Havana guests with the current design, let alone a smaller one. Given the premium paid for the amenities, this was disappointing and if anything, based on our two Havana experiences on Horizon, I would argue the area should either be expanded or limited to a smaller amount of guests, not reduced.
Thanks for the info...I guess it can change per sailing. Maybe they just need to expand on all the pool areas instead of trying to fit more cabins on the ship....😊
Love the entertainment...went in the summer..but if they keep increasing the population..why take away a full theatre? Felt we had to rush to line up at the lounge to get inn and get a good seat
Hi y'all. Just got back from our horizon cruise. Agreed with what you said good/bad. The only point that seemed to be different for our week of sailing was the Havana area. It was packed everytime we tried to get out there. You had to get out there very early to get a lounger. It just may depend on the passengers on the particular sailing if the Havana area is utilized to capacity. We had a great week and thanks so much for the prior information. Made things easier for us especially your son's explanation of the elevator system. Never had an issue...just followed his instructions.
Everything they said was spot on minus the Havana area, was packed on our cruise minus some points at night which was amazing since sitting on our balcony the noise was low and didn’t have to deal much with crowds. Yes it seems under utilized if you don’t hit it right but when you are there for the whole cruise you see the amazing benefits. By far my favorite area of the ship and will only book this area due to the low population. I agree 100% with the seating areas they really did the ship a disservice with the liquid lounge and limelight.
I’m going on The HORIZON THIS YEAR! Great to hear about the food 🥘. The food on The VISTA WAS HORRIBLE IN THE MAIN DINING ROOM!thete was even a frigin “FLY “ buzzing around ‼️we were COMPLETELY DONE 😩🤢with the dining room after the 3rd night!! The wait staff was terrible, they were confused as to who gets what plate, they didn’t clean off the table after each course and we kept having to signal other waiters for assistance ‼️we complained to the Head waiter and never returned! We ate at all of the specialty restaurants for the remainder of our cruise which actually wasn’t fair because it should’ve been a choice not forced because the main dining room food was gross! Plus there was a BUG 🤒🤕🤮on board so that cruise was a bust! I give the VISTA A 3 and Don’t get me started with those crappy elevator system.
