They are competition so it's normal....some time ago in wome UA-cam show, a few of SM staff even showed and talked about how they are always spying on Hybe idols and following them closely for anything new because they are basically their competition... that's just part or business
These messages can be manipulated. Hybe will have to prove everything legally. I don't see them going that far unless they have concrete evidence against MHJ. She will have to have concrete evidence to prove her side.
I would take that as a compliment. It shows that Aespa is top of the game when it comes to the girl groups at that time and she just came from SM. Why wouldn’t he want to know if she could make a girl group be competition with Aespa.

Actually I agree. I think Min Hee Jin is telling the truth. Hybe has really changed and I feel like now they will screw over anyone who tries to oppose them. Too bad rather than facts, in South Korea, money talks more. I just hope that she will be able to recover

Hybe is definitely guilty as accused. LS debuted only 2 months before NJ in May 2022 and held their first concert 13 mths later in Aug 2023. NJ has not had the opportunity to hold a concert despite being more popular domestically and internationally, and winning a Daesang earlier than LS. NJ in fact has been pretty quiet from the start of the year.

Judging from comments on the Korean side, the press conference did a 180 for Min Hee-Jin and people are on her side now. I saw another comment on this video but her struggles with upper management is resonating with Koreans who struggle with their bosses at work. And HYBE's statement dismissing the press conference and saying they won't reply to it didn't go over well. And then ILLIT's creative director posting a middle finger and deleting it on IG didn't help either.

However, Bang Si-hyuk, felt threatened with ive (with izone members) so he wanted to debut Le Seraphim (also with izone members too) first so he pushed debuting Le Seraphim first and New Jeans members behind
So, heejin and the members' parents were worried about the debut of Newjeans members, but hybe's ceo said "not there business"
After this, Bang Si-hyuk absolutely blocked the promotion of New Jeans until debut on Le Seraphim because he want to people see Le Seraphim is a group of heejin (previously, heejin's group expected of kpop fans)
Angered by this, heejin got angry, but it didn't pay off
After that, heejin created ador, took the members and succeeded newjeans and ditto was in Billboar
After in Billboard Bang pd sent these messages to heejin

Also about the copyright claims, she it's more likely talking about her "know how" and how hybe just replicate her way of doing things u can't copyright that. They use her knowledge of doing things in creating illit, and now that illit went viral, proves that it works for them, so they don't need her anymore, so they are ditching her.
Thanks for this korean perspective, I was very confused on why koreans were siding with her. She’s trying to seem relatable but she is a multimillionaire, who has been in the kpop industry for 25 years, not some dumb fresh-out-of-college artist. She was offered an amazing deal by HYBE. Guaranteed success and wealth but at the expense of control, and she decided to take that deal but now she’s regretting it. I hate HYBE too but I just cannot relate to some creepy rich art director who gets paid to recycle american trends from the 90s.
Thank you for adding nuance to what she said. I admit when I read the translations I couldn't really feel the emotion with the way it was written but I cam definitely empathise with her more over the text messages and the way HYBE seems to be trying to create their own NJWNS that would be solely theirs but I also side eye her comments on the members of NWJNS and why she had to bring them up. That felt very strange and frankly manipulative
she admitted to a lot of things in the press conference but she was able to divert the attention on lesserafim and bang pd's cursh on her to the point he gave her everything she wanted when she cried. i have to say, i originally thought she was stupid but she is smarter than she looks when she wants to be. imagine ADMITTING to the accusations and still get everyone to only talk about aespa.

And this was done in beginning of 2024.
And she says that she didn’t even have to go to HYBE to make her girl group she could have made 100billiion won without all this, so then why did she go to HYBE and accept their money whilst she could have made her own group with 100% ownership and control by herself? Doesn’t add up.

Speaking as Korean, while 'can you crush someone?' is a phrase that can be used in normal sitiations, ‘Can you step on someone?’ ‘밟을 수 있어?’ has completely different nuance and meaning. Firstly, it is not a verb that matches with ‘person’ in normal situations. Korean use of ‘밟는다’ in normal situation is to step on ‘things’. Like stepping on accelerator, brake…. and bugs. But when Koreans really use ‘밟는다’ as ‘stepping on person’, it includes more sarcastic meanings like ‘to end someone’s career’, ‘to kneel someone in front of me’, ‘get someone socially buried’… etc. It is more of a swear rather than a viable term when matched a person. And BSH’s text messages reveled by MHJ.. include so much more dirty sentences including this. It is not completely transferred due to language barrier since it doesn’t include direct terms like fxxx, but there is a reason why almost all Koreans suddenly switched their position and started to blame BSH. Including hundreds of thousands of HYBE shareholders.
The “crush/step on someone” language nuance is still irrelevant to the accusations ~

CEO Min's accusations are irrefutable though. LS debuted only 2mths earlier than NJ in May 2022 and went on their first concert tour in Aug 2023. Why hasn't Hybe organized a concert tour for NJ despite the group winning a Daesang in less than 6 mths and being more popular domestically and internationally than LS?
If Hybe doesn't like ADOR for creating a girl group that is more popular than Bang's own GG creation, they should just sell ADOR and release NJ.

She actually didn't even address the real accusations. They aren't turning over evidence from the audit to the police over silly stuff like "copying" a kpop aesthetic or debuting one girl group first before another one. They have legit claims of insider trading and releasing sensitive information about minors. That's where the rumors about Garam and Youngseo are coming from, whether true or not, if she leaked private info about minors in the company people are obviously going to start making assumptions about it. I have such a hard time taking her seriously when she's literally whining about very normal things, such as her very own company debuting other girl groups and using some of the same staff. And? Most companies use the same choreographers, stylists, etc... this isn't new. I get they had a plan to highlight her very own group, but it's weird to assume that they wouldn't debut any other groups or that she got so obsessed about her personal group to the point of excluding them from the rest of the company. So, when she outright says that's why she's so upset, I'm like, "Ma'am, you have serious charges against you, please try to be more serious about this and not act like a kid." It's weirdly childish for a CEO millionaire to act like this.

Bang and CEO Park are the childish ones for ordering the raid becuz they couldn't accept criticism that could have stayed internal. This conflict could have stayed under wraps but Bang chose to abuse his authority as the Chairman and suppressed dissent. The Korean public are on the side of Ador on this. It will not end well for him.
I think they copied newjeans clover 🍀 concept which minheejin built as comeback for newjeans I guess .I was waiting for Newjean's comeback for a long time. During their performance in golden disc award this year they showed some hints with Clover 🍀 . I guessed some fresh vibe songs will be coming from NewJeans. I always respect Min heejun working meticulously hardly in great detail and new jeans members also worked hard . Back to back comeback. Some events they were running to succeed which I admire their hardwork and effort they put as bunny.I think lucky girl syndrome is something new jeans would have in their comeback. The tune,melody and concept may be used for illit I guess. I was watching for an illit debut also as a fan but I thought illit would have a strong concept. Their concepts would like between the concepts of lesserfim and newjeans these types of performance are made in the auditions. At least they should have debuted with a mix of strong and trendy songs. That is what I expected but their performance was good. Now how Min heejun must work harder to do a breakthrough. I think if she brainstorm she can make a successful comeback for new jeans I guess .It must have stressed out her.I want her focus on Newjeans girls they are working hard don't make it tougher. Actually, what makes this drama even more exciting are the assumptions of fans and netizens. What I learned after the fifty fifty case is that won't take anyone's side if all parties involved haven't spoken up and the evidence/facts have really been revealed to the public. No one is innocent in the kpop business, all companies and the people who work in them have their own faults.

@@Yes_1998 Korea has a long history of shamanism. Most people do it just for fun and look at it as a general direction, not something dead serious but some people, especially elders can believe it more deeply than younger ones. It's not a voodoo doll. A lot of people go to Shaman before making big purchases or selling things like real estate, houses even stocks. Before a big test, job interview, marriage, starting a business, like before any big life change or decision.

this is exactly why i like JYPE out of any company in kpop. yes JYPE has done some really awful things in the past but if we compare JYPE to the other companies in kpop they arent as bad. JYPE allows their artists to have some creative freedom and just do whats best for their groups

I know nothing about Hybe being shady but her bringing all these groups into this battle is disgusting. They were stupid to give an ex SM exec. 18% in Ador. Most of the groups are young girls and they don it deserve this. We need to support all the groups: New Jeans, Illit, Aespa and BTS.
As someone who has seen all the statements and press conferences related to HYBE and ADOR, I completely fail to understand why Min is almost demonized in the English-speaking community.
At least in the East Asian community, most people tend to support Min, while the rational ones choose to wait and see. A significant reason for this is that Min's press conferences are not as chaotic and ridiculous as they are portrayed in the English-speaking community.
Despite Min having moments of emotional outburst, her statements are actually coherent. Moreover, some have reviewed past entertainment industry news and Min's past performances on shows, which allows us to believe that Min's story aligns with the timeline, and her feelings towards the NJ members are genuine.

Yeah, they broke their word and she couldn't debut first with her gg 🙄 happens every day in business, that things get delayed or layed off bc circumstances change (there was Corona pandemy, she didn't want the idols they choose bc too old apparently, when she went with Source Music ressources, they had debt and needed to debut quickly).
But she got a whole new label, with her as CEO, got basically gifted shares and got ressorces like trainees, staff, money that were taken from Source label to appease her. Source was basically empty of staff after that and got handed staff from BigHit which can be felt in TXTs promotion losing quality (until now fans didn't know why that happened, now MOAs know).

MHJ is a creative and idea person, and likely thought that she deserves 90% of the shares of Adore, considering it was her creative vision/ideas that lead to NJ's success. All Hybe did is pay for everything. She also likely saw that Hybe accounting resulted in her 20% shares resulting in little or no money this year or next since Hybe was deducting their NewJeans development expenses to date. In a few years, after a few successful comebacks and Hybe recouped their initial investment, those shares would have been very lucrative. Steve Jobs only owned 11% of Apple after the IPO, and Elon Musk only owned 20% of the shares of Tesla after the IPO. Those shares were not very valuable until years later when those companies started turning a profit. Thus the 20% that was given to MHJ was a generous amount, because MHJ is no Jobs or Musk. Hoping the members of NJs stay together and continue to release outstanding videos and music.
So I went to watch some clips of her at the press conference and read the Korean comments and my opinion changed completely.
I think she is a very impulsive and emotional person, the typical art major who is crazy about her work. So she put her heart into creating New Jeans. Meanwhile Bang Sihyuk wanted to use her name to promote the girl group he created Le sserafim. Unexpected to him, New Jeans was a MASSIVE hit. And here the problems lies, his ego was effected. When New jeans did so well he asked her “Are you happy…” he was probably so jealous. What made it worse was that Min Heejin was not submissive to him and complained when she felt that Illit was copying New Jeans style. That was the last straw and then this fiasco blew up. Her trying to take over the company with only an 18% share is not realistic. I think she was just complaining in those text messages and letting her imagination run wild. Hybe and Bang Si Hyuk used those messages to frame her as trying to take over the company.
To sum it up: Hybe recruited Min Hee him because they wanted her name to promoted Le sserafim. They got her to agree by giving her some of Source musics trainees and letting her do what she wanted with them. However, New Jeans (le sserafim step sister) became a massive hit which embarrassed Hybe CEO who put so much effort into his girl group le sserafim. Like the step sister outshining the princess. Min hee Jin is an artistic and emotional person and she didn’t know how to play the political game and such up to Hybe. So hybe decided to get red of her and slander her in the press by releasing her private messages and publishing articles full of character assassination.
The reason NJ didn’t have any promotion before releasing their first music videos is because Hybe didn’t want to promote them, they only wanted to promote Le sserafim. Although the public sees NJ success they were actually neglected by hype who at first didn’t promote them because they wanted to focus on Le sserafim and then tried to diminish their popularity by making a very similar group called Illit.
Wow sorry for the long comment guys. I suggest find videos of the press conference and just translating the Korean comments until the conference video get English subs. Just reading the transcript doesn’t give you a good idea of min hee jin’s side of the story

Speaking as Korean, while 'can you beat someone?' '이길 수 있어?' is a phrase that can be used in normal sitiations, ‘Can you step on someone?’ ‘밟을 수 있어?’ has completely different nuance and meaning. Firstly, it is not a verb that matches with ‘person’ in normal situations. Korean use of ‘밟는다’ in normal situation is to step on ‘things’. Like stepping on accelerator, brake…. and bugs. But when Koreans really use ‘밟는다’ as ‘stepping on person’, it includes more sarcastic meanings like ‘to end someone’s career’, ‘to kneel someone in front of me’, ‘get someone socially buried’… etc. It is more of a swear rather than a viable term when matched a person. And BSH’s text messages reveled by MHJ.. include so much more dirty sentences including this. It is not completely transferred due to language barrier since it doesn’t include direct terms like fxxx, but there is a reason why almost all Koreans suddenly switched their position and started to blame BSH. Including hundreds of thousands of HYBE shareholders.

I personally didn't get much from that press conference. I feel she provided drama that the internet will eat up, but I didn't think that she did a good job of defending herself from the actual legal allegations and I didn't like that she was continuing to bring the New Jeans members and more groups into this mess. Also at the time of her press conference she had missed the deadline for turning over all of the company assets. Did the press ask her about that? Or did I miss it?

I am a Korean. A few days ago, public opinions in Korea were mostly against MHJ. People were thinking that MHJ is plotting a coup to exclusively possess NewJeans after their success. But after the press conference yesterday, public opinions were rapidly changed and now in favor of MHJ. People start to recognize that MHJ is a genuine artist who is extremely passionate at her work and she was mistreated in Hybe because of feud with Bang Si Hyuk. In my opinion, I think all these things happen because Mr. Bang doesn't like MHJ due to troubles between them and want to kick out her from the Hybe group. He mistreated even NewJeans for this reason, despite their great success in kpop.

#1 theres no event nor photos that shows bang sihyuk supporting newjeans at the very beginning of their career, i didn't even see any. While bang sihyuk is seen with txt, lesserafim, illit and other hybe related groups.
#2 this is the first time a kpop group ( newjeans ) was treated correctly like their own child like yg doing with baemon

Aren't you all curious how jeemin and chanelle didn't end up debuting despite having a massive votes? Because they know both girls aren't fit to their plan group.
