    Until I see other brands raise their quality and stop having issues with every...single...little thing, and big thing, I think the Titan would be the best long-term buy in a truck right now. If you want something for 100k+, this might be the best option.

      Totally in agreement with you. And, for those prices, it's hard not to take a look. The less tech and gimmicky stuff, the less stuff to break down after the thing is out of warranty in the typical Big 3, 3 year warranty period. Happy 4th and keep up the great work!

      I wouldnt recomend the TItan as it is a custon Cummins engine that will not be made anymore.
      I rencently watched a car shop dealing with a 40K miles Titan engine blown out. He was unable to even find an afermarket gasgeckt. Made me reconsider the Titan.

      Need some help here from folks.
      2015 5:48 Sequoia Platinum 110K miles that I LOVE. I want to get a truck to haul some horse stuff so the family doesn’t smell it in the cab. I went for a new Tundra Friday and saw your videos before it was too late. They were going to sell it to me without telling me!! So do I go 2021 Tundra Platinum with 32K miles or do I go 2024 Titan 4X Pro? I drove the Titan and I love it. At 58K, Premium Package & 0%, I feel ifs a steal. They can go lower if I increase the APR which I may do and pay off. My only issue with the Titan is the manual folding side mirrors. I have to fold the drivers side to get into my garage.. I test drove it home and just reached out and folded it in. It’s silly I know… But share thoughts? 2021 Tundra Platinum or 2024 4X Pro?

However I feel like I paid 6k too much, I bought it in August of last year and my loan term started in October, I will have the vehicle paid off by the end of this august so that fact is about to be water under the bridge. But yes I bought it used with 10k miles on it, basically nothing but 33k would be a new pristine midsize, maybe even a new entry level work truck full size in a normal market. June 2023 I sold my reliable old 2002 F150 and bought a new Titan Pro4X. I love it. It was priced much below other brands that were equipped the same. I got a big discount and 0% financing. It has the most comfortable seat I've ever had. I can drive it for hours and my 80 yr old back doesn't hurt when I get out. Yeah, it burns more gasoline than the turbo trucks but I'm retired and don't drive that much. It hasn't had any issues so far.
    One reason I bought a Nissan was that in early 2014 I bought my wife a new 2013 Infiniti EX37, the smallest crossover SUV with a 3.7 V6 and RWD. She has put 58k miles on it so far and I've spent 0 dollars on repairs. She loves it. It hauls butt too which she loves.

    Picked up a '23 Pro 4X in September. Alignment (steering wheel off center), tailgate actuator replacement, transfer case actuator recall, LCD screen/radio head replacement because of permanent imprints after 6 months, so I put a glass screen protector on the new one. Having a good dealership service department is a huge plus. Like it better than my '18 F-150 FX4, but it does have less back seat room and storage as the wheelbase is about 4" shorter. Tows the same, pretty much the same specs at the FX4. Runs smoother and more power on the recommended premium gas. Got 15% off and they gave me 33.5k for my F-150. I was going for 35k for my trade when a shopper that had been in before came in to buy it, so I grabbed the deal. The white paint on black trim looks sharp and is cooler in the Arizona summer. It's too bad they are discontinuing the Titan, I think they should keep making them. They'd probably boost their sales after the Tundra disaster.

    Toyota fanboys are especially to blame for the Titan being discontinued. At least most of the guys who bought from the big 3 did so out of nostalgia, i.e. their dads drove the same brand of truck, which at least carries some weight. But tundra guys? I wouldn't say Toyota fanboys are one of the major causes of the Titan's downfall. I agree with you that the Nissan Titan is the best truck to buy today, but the prices advertised by dealers are not accurate. I called most of the dealers who advertise the Titan at a low price online, but when I contacted them, I couldn't find anything under $50k. They claim the online price is only available if you qualify for all discounts, including trade-in, military, student, and many other conditions that hardly anyone can meet. 99% of dealers are misleading customers by posting these prices just to get you to call them. It's deceptive! I was interested in the Titan but when I started to see the price between $50k to $65k, I do not believe it is worth it because since it is discounted, resale value will be very low and may be after few years, it will be very challenging to get spare parts!

  • @AlexSomers-d2n
    @AlexSomers-d2n 3 місяці тому

    this is a good take on it...I don't think foreign companies understand what a long game the US truck market is, because cars are their bread & butter. Toyota spent decades building up their reputation for reliability before releasing their full sized (not 80% sized) Tundra. Nissan and Toyota and GM put a lot of effort into making their early 2000s designs reliable.
    Ford's reputation for reliability came from the early 90s when GM made junk. That took over a decade for GM to shake. Somehow Ford weathered out the mid 2000s when they made junk, and there current trucks are a lot more reliable. I think Nissan should make longer cargo vans with dual sliding doors, and both Nissan and Toyota should devote more resources to their full size truck line because they came out with good ones when they were trying to break into the market. I understand not wanting to pay $90k for a ram or wanting a crew cab with 6.5ft bed, but 40k for a new full sized truck is a price that actually does not sound insane
