Seeing the people higher up, like the horticulture guy and the engineer, and how proud they are of their and their employees work you can really see why this airport thrives so well. You can follow that sort of pride and willingness to get things perfect all the way down to the lowest employee its really neat to see having worked in to many negative work environments.

lol you realize this documentary is a propaganda piece for Singapore right? yes it is true Singaporeans are very hard workers and for the most part take pride in their work and are polite and the customer is truly #1 there (for the most part LOL) but the corporate culture there is very demanding and gruelling and traditional and there is a lot of stress and unhappiness there. But I imagine the horticulturalist working int he mfing butterfly garden in an airport works in a pretty fking positive environment.

I've heard from others that traveling to and from Bali is such a headache it's not even worth it for the average traveler. This episode seems to support that assessment. Seven days is quite a tight timeframe for such a remote destination. The German lady would've been better off allowing for more travel time on either side. 10 days or a fortnight would've given her more time and accounted for possible travel delays.

I did it once from the Netherlands, with a transit in hongkong. Even for a 2 week holiday it’s to long actually. From my home to the rented villa took around 30 hours. It was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been but still. And I was staying on the north side (more beautiful) and spend one day in the south were 90% of tourist are staying, to be honest It wasn’t that different from a lot of places in Europe so not worth it if you plan on staying on the south of Bali

Is there just a single brain cell that surfers share and pass along when in need of a thought.... also. Always always get travel insurance.

    • @tonistark4169
      @tonistark4169 Рік тому +1

Absolutely! Travel insurance pays for itself should you get sick before your departure or some act of God happens that’s unavoidable or in some cases inevitable.
Why oh why do people travel with no money, extra cash, credit card and do so on a wing and a prayer. What do they expect to do when these unavoidable events occur??? The airlines don’t owe you anything for your lack of funds or unpreparedness especially when in a foreign country or thousand of miles from home. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best.
I’ve listened to ALL of these airport shows and lack of funds and not being prepared for emergencies is just stupid and can be dangerous if you’re unfamiliar with your destination or layover destination. 75% of the events shown seem to be related to no money or lack of funds. For sure, make sure your credit card is approved for international travel!
Yes, these “hang ten’ers” seem to always have no back up plan except to bum their way to any destination.
Also, get your visa and passports in order and ALWAYS keep the reference number in your phone or on your person. It’s amazing how many travelers on these shows do not have proper visa or a return ticket or boarding pass.
The staff at Changi and most airports are angels trying to do the impossible with these passengers.
God bless the customer service people! I cannot believe how unprepared international travelers can be!
I travel within the US and am legally blind so I’m prepared for EVERY emergency.
My parents traveled a lot internationally and did so through an expensive travel company (their choice) and not once were they stranded from their own doing.
You’re right, J, some brain cells are REQUIRED to PLAN beforehand and not just “wing it”! (No pun intended)
Safe travels Everyone and KNOW what’s needed ahead of time especially money!

Last time I was on a layover there whilst waiting for my connecting flight from Manchester UK, to Singapore (layover) then on to Brisbane Australia, I was stuck at changi for 14hrs, I think I walked nearly every inch of the international transit terminals, it was the middle of summer there, and as a smoker, they have outdoor smoking areas, the humidity was a killer, then I found an indoor air-conditioned smoking area. It's such a beautiful airport, the Koi pond is spectacular, there was also a butterfly house, at that stage, they didn't have the big waterfall garden, but wow, I have very fond memories of this airport, if ya have to get stuck in an airport, this is certainly the best one.

yes if they still want to Bali (didnt want to other) they can go to Surabaya stay a while or go to Malang after the Bali is open can get flight from Surabaya. Just recommend to use train and ferry to Gilimanuk but I am not sure they are like typical backapackker or adventure seeker
But are there flight direct to Bandung or Yogyakarta? if there they can easily go to Bandung not using train to Bandung from Jakarta (sure train from Jakarta to Bandung will mess for them). Go to Yogyakarta they can see beach, Borobudur etc

How do so many passengers that are foreign not have any money when traveling? Why would you ever plan on going on vacation without back up or contingency plans for additional money. Yes, there can be mitigating circumstances, but it never ceases to amaze me how people can be so stupid.

I think you would be amazed how many people book a holiday at an “all-in hotel” and all that time never leave the hotel premises. A lot of them cant even afford an sandwich at the airport (in their minds they don’t need to have money because the flight/hotel is paid so why have emergency money)

more easy and closer to Surabaya. there are train from Surabaya to Ketapang Banyuwangi. and from Ketapang you can use ferry. But I dont think traveller like honeymoon couple or people with family want to try this option. The train some good some not. Cheap train cost like 10-20 USD maybe

I would have suggested the Philippines to the honeymooners... there are flights to several paradise islands in Philippines from SG. No Visa for a stay not exceeding thirty (30) days, for Argentina citizens. They could go to Boracay, Palawan, Bohol, Cebu etc. directly without going through Manila... If they are avoiding congested cities.

actually easy way (but it is good for backpacker) if go to Bali, is fly to Surabaya (from Changi there many low cost flight to Surabaya) and take train from Surabaya to Banyuwangi (transit) and take ferry ride. Not very good facilities for people who want easy and pleasure ride.
dont go to Jakarta (what else you want to see there), Semarang if you want see some old building etc, and also form Semarang can go to Yogyakarta or Solo, looking some good temple lik borobudur prambanan etc
