Been to Kates Place.. One of the last restaurants my grandfather and I ate before disaster struck.... Special place for me...
That’s awesome. Man their food is so good.
Looks like an awesome time. Can't wait to get back to Colorado
This is my new favorite channel, and that's the current situation.
Hell yeah 🍻
My group and I visited CO a couple years ago and did all the trails there and meet some fantastic people along the way. Beautiful place.
Absolutely gorgeous
San Juan Mountains! My favorite range in the United States! Good to see ya. Hope all is Amazing!
Always amazing up there.
For elevation headache, drink enough water to keep your urine clear, also most stores sell compressed oxygen.
We went to Telluride in 21 and camped at the town campground. It was really pretty beside the river. We walked into town for dinner and the showers and bathrooms were close by. Thanks for the video.
This was actually recorded in 21. Telluride is one of my fav mountain towns
How about a 2023 update on overland gear? What works/or didn't/ reviews of current gear and setups. Should I keep rocking my 30 yr old Coleman on a table or upgrade to a dedicated stove with legs? Long term review of Gazelle? I just opted for the new V2 Hub from Freespirit but, I'm wondering if I traded warmth and better door for speed and ease of setup. Thanks and keep up the great content.
Great idea stay tuned. The camp stove upgrade is a def. I really enjoy the flame control on these camp chefs
outstanding footage❗💯👍👍🚙🇺🇲🇺🇲
I have heard of extreme cold making trees split. I watched a video of a man in the Pokamoke forest at night and he could hear the trees cracking. Nice footage cuz
Oh that makes sense too. Thanks for watching
Been following your channel for some time now really jealous of the full time camping. You ever wanna do some UA-cam collab I’m down in southern az got some New Mexico stuff planned soon!
Sweet thanks for following along
Pizza at 4:20 …. 🔥 in the hole !!!
RIGHT!!! Couldn’t have worked out better.
@@SirWilliamGoes Another great vid man ... safe travels
Sometimes cold will spilt trees but it doesn't happen that often. My uncle lost a whole orchard to cold once it killed every peach tree. You could hear the trees cracking sometimes exploding. Moisture inside the tree turns into expanding ice inside the tree. The pressure of the expanding ice is stronger than the wood but the wood resists until it snaps kinda like a rubber band being stretched beyond its breaking point. All the energy is released all at once kinda like an earthquake. Bark and branches can be ejected off when it cracks.
Wow. Thanks for sharing i wonder if that may have been the case here
@@SirWilliamGoes I think it can happen to any tree but it doesn't seem to happen to very dry trees like Utah Juniper
They make patch kits for that thermarest brother!👊🏼
I patched it up and used it for about another year then I put a big ass hole in it with my iPad sat and 🤦🏽♂️ so I replaced it with a Hest pad I have now
Love that area out there. I think Ouray is pronounced "your-ray" or "yer-ray"
Yeah it’s beautiful. Thanks!!!
Lightning strikes. I think
Yeah I had wondered about that too. That’s a lot but it storms a lot here
Thanks for another wonderful video! The Pumbaa moments were absolutely precious. Cant wait to see the Black Bear Pass Video. Stay safe.
Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed. These are a little tough to make at times with Pumbaa in them but at the same time I love being able to look back.
Right. I can walk 20 ft from my house on a wooded section on my property and show trees that look exactly like that due to wind storms. Trees do funny things due to wind damage. Some snap over. Some bend over and stay that way. Sometimes a tree on the ground damaged others on the way down, and they sometimes lay out in weird directions. But, yeah let's forego common sense. That's squatch damage alrighty.
Once you seen a few squatch a few times...... "Common sense" of city folks isn't really relevant anymore.
Yes, wind and gravity breaks trees. So does fungus and old age.
But that doesn't mean common sense is to think you're the smartest animal in the Forrest.
Haha. The Bigfoot reference was those huge prints, still not sure about those. The trees I just found weird but assumed it was wind related
Long time subscriber but haven't watched a video for a while. Apple is looking really rugged - awesome. I have a KDSS red 4Runner too. I struggle with whether or not to put on a conservative lift like yours but I really like the city handling of the stock form of the vehicle on city streets. How often do you go some place where you need the mods vs stock? I really liked your camp site - looks awesome. I probably would have chopped up a lot more wood / some nice big trees around there. I'm used to it being cold up here in Canada tho.
This was Apple 🍎 in her mostly stock form. I had TRD Pro Suspension that’s pretty worn out at time of recording, KDSS removed, and all terrain tires. I’ve since installed OME 3in lift, SPC uppers and 255/80 Toyo MTs and that’s the perfect set up in my opinion without going too crazy with mods. I will say skip the SPC uppers and go with uniball something like total chaos if you plan on really wheeling. I’ve gone through those SPC ball joints too fast. To answer question I’ve gotten everywhere I wanted to go with stock setup.
@@SirWilliamGoes Thanks for the reply. I really like the style of your videos. Its so relaxing to watch shots of a 5th Gen 4Runner meandering through trails. The overlanding lifestyle looks amazing. I think my 4Runner is destined for a lift one day. Its still less than 4 years old with only 22 thousand kilometers on it so I think I have hesitated because I didn't know if I was in it for the long haul. It was worth more than I paid for it up to last year. My last car was a peppy 6 speed manual coupe which I also really loved. So I am really confused by the fact that every year I drive it I just fall more in love with the 4Runner. And that is mostly city driving. When I can finally get out of the city just the best.
With those holes in the trees I suspect some type of insect infestation but I am not an arborist! You certainly are not the first person to have issues with a Thermarest!
Yeah the holes I get but the splits up the middle was crazy. The only issues I had was that cut. The Hest I use now tho is a game changer
