  • On September 27th, 2017 I saw a post on Facebook that Southern Resident Orca Calls were being heard on the Lime Kiln Hydrophones, so we hopped in our rental car and headed that way. We didn't even make it there before we starting seeing blows on the coastline. We parked the car and watched in AWE these majestic animals make their way along the coast. They were breaching and tail slapping. Such an amazing experience. I have never seen orcas so close to the shore before, it was AWESOME. An hour later we headed down to South Beach and we ended up catching up with them again, they were too far out to get any videos or pictures, but i did stick my GO PRO in the water and picked up a few calls. So dang amazing!
