Thank you so much for watching! I’m glad you found it helpful. The calculation actually may be incorrect. I’ll add an updated chart in the description box once I figure it out 💕

I believe the math is correct. The total is 7 oz. 7 × 15% is 1.05. Now you can do 7 -1.05 = 5.95. And to check your diffuser base can do 7 oz x 85 % = 5.95. This is how i do my percentage calculations.

Thanks for letting me know! I followed instructions from candle science. I believe it's correct based on their youtube videos :)

FYI: For a 7oz product, if you're only adding 5.95 oz of diffuser base and 1.05 oz of fragrance oil, you're actually at 18% fragrance load. If you want 7 ounces of total product between diffuser and fragrance oil, you will need 6.09 oz of diffuser base and 0.91 oz of fragrance oil - to verify the math, divide the amount of fragrance oil by your amount of diffuser base (0.91 ÷ 6.09) and that will give you the load percentage. Alternatively, you can just add 1.05 oz of FO to the 7 oz of diffuser base (as 1.05oz -is- 15% of 7oz), but you will have 8.05 oz of total product.

thanks for the input! I’m so glad you brought this up because I kept questioning my math. I agree with your logic, that’s how I calculate the fragrance load for all my candles, but many videos/sites I came across instructed to do it the way I did. Village craft and candle’s ifra sheet and also candle science’s site/ videos also had directions to calculate it this way so I kept going back and forth trying to figure out the proper calculation. It was my first time making home fragrances which is why I decided just to follow the directions from reputable suppliers. Do you know why they are suggesting possibly an incorrect calculation?

18 % of fo to the 7 oz would be 1.26 oz of fo.
