It's so fun to see two young people enjoying previous generations music. Missy is the bomb, this is my era. GenX.
Oh, man you two...Missy Elliott is an absolute must!! She has always been one of the most influential artists out there. "Work it", "Lose Control", "Gossip Folks", "WTF", "One Minute Man", "The Rain" are just a few worth checking out
If this is your first Missy vid, you guys are in for a treat. She is INFAMOUS for her videos.
Honestly, I'm surprised that you all hadn't heard of her, as she just released new material and did a duet (guest appearance?) on a Lizzo song within the last couple years...
Fred, “you’d be surprised how many females can rap!” Tsk, tsk, tsk....
They should listen to Queen Latifah.
For example, Eve, mc lyte, lil kim.man.
Amy Fisher Ladies FIRST!!! ❤️
Trina, foxy brown
If Fred wasn't so cute I might be mad at him. LOL!
I love watching you youngbloods appreciate the stuff from my generation! This song was so big around 2001!
Lil Kim is another rapper to watch. Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott sings, raps, dance, produces and does some acting
kim couldn't rap.
Y’all should definitely throw it back further with “Can’t Stand the Rain”, and the bring it back to current with “Tempo” by Lizzo ft. Missy Elliot
You guys reviewing Missy was only a matter of time. She is the QUEEN!
Highly recommend Lady Marmalade as well!
Check out Digable Planets - “Rebirth of Slick Cool Like Dat”

Missy Elliot: Swinging from chandeliers way before Sia.
For the record you can never go wrong with a Missy Elliott video all of her videos are creative she has a unique style. In my opinion she can run circles around any male or female rapper out there. Oh and she can sing as well. Definitely check out I can't stand the rain Gossip Folks
Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott is the REAL queen of rap.
She is one of the Queens!!!!
Agreed... "Work it" is a MUST! by Missy of course.
Missy’s vids have always been exotic! So different and so creative!! I love her music, her vids, her style...everything!! I’ve been a missy fan since the beginning and even got my kiddos into her music. She is everything!!! Love Missy!!!
Missy had the most unique style out there back in the day. Her and Timbaland were killing it. She has some hits that are definitely worth checking out.
Lose control is a must listen. Missy "Misdemeanor " Elliott is one of a kind.
Check out Aaliyah!

YASSSSS!!!! Are You That Somebody!!!!
She overrated
Another one taken way too soon.
Female Rappers were lyricist back in the day- MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, YoYo. Roxanne Roxanne, Monie Love. Eva, Salt n Pepper, Missy Elliot, Mariana "Ladybug Mecca from Digable Planets, ETC.
You have only just barely scratched the surface with Missy Elliot. Just about everything she does is amazing.
Check out all her music. She is so cold. Missy and Timberland are one of the baddest duos around. You should also check out McLyte, Queen Latifah and Da Brat.
I’m so glad you finally listened to Missy E! It makes me sad that you know so many male rappers from that period but don’t know Missy, Eve, Lil Kim... :( but please check out more Missy on your own time :) She’s known for her amazing vids as well. She won a lifetime achievement at the MTV awards last year and did a cool performance that was full of references to her vids. She got really sick for quite a while and just made her comeback a couple of years ago. I hope we have more coming from her
Love me some Missy Elliot!
You guys are everything 2020 needed❤️😘🥰
Give “Brass Monkey” Beastie Boys a try
Yesssss!

The fact the didn't even recognize Ja Rule is hilarious. Fifty and Em murdered him
Every video from her is Pure Art. Always pushing the envelope. 1 of the Best
Yaaassss!!!! Y'all need to do 1 Minute Man by Missy. And Make Em Say Uuugghhh by Master P.
One minute man yassss!
Gossip Folks was always a good jam too
112 - Only You, remix featuring Biggie & Mase. Such a fantastic song! Think I'm gonna listen to it now 😌 And...BELL BIV DEVOE - POISON!!
When Missy came on the scene, I was in college. No one had ever heard a sound like hers. She's a musical genius. Go back and watch all of her videos and live performance. GOAT! I Can't Stand the Rain is my fave.
I remember an interview (or maybe just a quip) on MTV where she talked about how she and Timberland *intentionally* went futuristic with their sound. They strove to do something not being done yet. I always felt that in the same way Prohibition advanced/accelerated the mafia, Missy advanced the art and styling of hip-hop and rap. It wouldn't be what it is today if she hadn't hit the scene.
"GET your freak on" and "shots" by Missy Misdemeanor Elliot were a couple of the go-to song choices in the hottest Las Vegas night clubs in 02-05...also the video theme was inspired by the first tomb raider movie since a remixed version of this song was the top song on the soundtrack for the movie.
Oh yea they are young young. I remember jamming to this when it came out in 2001. I miss those days.
Missy elliott is one of a kind!!! She is awesome...and she collaborates with so many awesome artists....she has done a lot work with Puff Daddy!!! Really enjoyed your reaction!!!
She's Got You -Patsy Cline. She is vintage country singer with a tone that just grips your heart . Thank you both for being so open to so many genres and eras of music. Keep smiling guys. You sure give a lot of older people pleasure watching you have pleasure.
You should react to Missy’s “Work It”. 😊
“Lick Shots” is definitely in my top 10. Missy is a beast!
Missy is the queen of rap. She paved the way for all the rapping ladies out there today. Iconic!
So here is a banger for ya, Queensryche “Silent Lucidity”!!!!
Ughhh so good
All her videos are dope. She was most definitely an innovator. Absolutely no one does it quite like Missy Elliot.
It is a sad, sad day when people don't know who Missy Elliot is
Especially when she's still making music.
the guys were brought up in a religious home so not aloud to hear other music but Christian stuff. I think they said they got their very 1st phone at 18. Now that they older and covid had them housebound they started exploring. I love their open minds.
@@marinal. It's mostly sarcasm.
@@marinal. we get it. You hit every post that says they can’t believe they haven’t head of her with they grow up religious and couldn’t this and that. We got it. Lol. Still nuts to a degree because we were forced into church and we still knew who 2 live crew and all the other dirty rappers were and all the r and b and pop music.
Missy got so many bangers!!!!
I just love the way you guys are discovering classics for the first time and REALLY appreciating them. I love your spirits. I'm in my 50s. You guys are very entertaining!!💯
Slick Rick “Children’s Story”
“That was nasty not gonna lie..” LMAOOOO
I am so happy y’all got to Missy! She is a true pioneer and all of her videos were known to have crazy concepts. Her and Timbaland created some of the most unique music and were truly ahead of their time! Their music still sounds fresh today. I highly encourage y’all to check out more Missy, preferably Work It, Lady Marmalade, or Hot Boyz - you won’t regret it!
Yes to all... especially"Hot Boyz"
@@lavondadebrito1178 That song will never get old to me! Definitely one of my faves from her
@@Honey-bh2jh Me too! I listen to that song several times a week still 🤣
