@@donovanredmond8050 There are numerous reasons. The main one imo, I think families today aren't as connected as we were. There are too many existing distractions that keep family members separated and doing "individual" activities. Growing up, my parents always had music playing. Even more on holidays. Music was playing during early Saturday morning chores. As such, I got to hear blues, Doo Wop, and Motown, in addition to the current music of the day (70s/80s.) Some of their friends liked jazz, so I got to hear that too. Ultimately, I did the same for my younger siblings, nieces, and nephews. Music was always playing. Whenever one came to me with some "great new 90s/2000s song" they'd heard, I'd immediately pull out the original from which it was sampled. At the end of the day, we can't expect them to know if WE don't interact and expose them to it...
If you liked this song, then you’ll also love his song “Don’t Be Cruel.” And since we are on the topic of post New Edition acts, you may want to react to “Poison” by Bel Biv Devoe. Thanks for the reaction!
@Antionette Wilson Have you heard Tevin's 4th, mostly unknown album titled simply "Tevin Campbell"? [1999] That is literally one of the best albums I ever heard in my life!!! Why that is becomes apparent when you discover it was produced by Quincy Jones. Just check it out, it was more of a mature Tevin album, too bad it never got noticed, then Tevin dropped off after that. Give it a listen, its on iTunes......
@Antionette Wilson That slow jam on that 4th Album called "Dandelion" that's a cut, makes you wanna make out (or whatever the word is now) in a field of Dandelions.....

No love for Johnny Gill? How about some "Rub You the Right Way"?
@@theletterj8870 I definitely love that one too! I agree they should react to them all.
Yes!!!!
This is why he was the king of R&B
His perflr.ance was phenomenal!!
Was so proud of Bobby on that last tour he did with BBD. He killed it.
Check out Tevin Campbell “can we talk for a minute”, it’s along the same genre as Every little step I take
"Can We Talk" was a Jam!!!!
Yes and Alone with You and Goodbye
@Antionette Wilson That slow jam on that 4th Album called "Dandelion" that's a cut, makes you wanna make out (or whatever the word is now) in a field of Dandelions.....
Yes I have recons 4th album
And haven’t heard it in years I loved Another Way
Also a song that will literally bust speakers its the group Snap songs "I got the power" a monster hit.
"Maniac, Brainiac, king of this game....I'm the lyrical Jessie James"
Them: Why his shoulders so big?
Us old folks: Shoulder pads!!! I didn’t realize they’ve been outta style that long.😂🤦🏾♀️
I use to hate hate hate shoulder pads when they were the style. I have BROAD shoulders and had to TAKE THEM OUT of everything, lmbo!!!!!
Keeper116 I loved em. I was bean pole skinny back then no titties or ass. So the shoulder pads gave the illusion I was wider up top. I loved a good suit jacket w/ shoulder pads, a flowey skirt, & a belt w/ a big ol buckle. Made me look like I had hips & ass😂
😂😂
I was obsessed with this song in junior high school. Listened to it over and over again.
Omg the memories of school dances I'm so glad you young men are discovering how great our music really was
This whole album was amazing!! I still play it and dance ... many many years later lol
Love this upbeat song. You need to seriously do “Love Shack” by the B-52’s! Please!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
"My Prerogative" is my favorite of his!
Never sleep on
Mr. Brown
King of R&B
Bobby's got the ability to sing rap and dance 💃 multi talented. Love bobby ❤
This whole album was EVERYTHING when it came out
Since you all are on a 90's vibe.. Try Usher "My Way", " You Make Me Wanna" and " Slow Jam" with Monica..
This song is from 1988
Yes the 80s Micheal Jackson rulled the R&B game
This IS his best song. New Jack Swing is the best R&B period
Yes Yes. Bobby, Keith Sweat, Guy, Johnny Gill, Johnny Kemp et al made some stone cold BANGERS!!
Facts! I was a white/Hispanic kid recording these songs off the radio overnight and listening to them the next day all day....that and watching the videos on The Box
Don’t be cruel
My prerogative
Something in Common
Period barely lasted 5 years
NO.
This track was and is still amazing, I was 18 when it hit the radio and some of the other tracks from this album was amazing as well.
Loved every song from Don’t be cruel
The 80's had shoulder pads in everything. He was married to Whitney Houston.
They just learned who Whitney was.
@@facesbybriana4708 lol. bless their hearts.
@@thebeardedseeker5633 😂🤣😂🤣
RIGHT
He’s a womensbeater 😡
He wasn't married to Whitney yet.
I would LOVE to hear y’all react to “We are the World” by USA for Africa. You will not be disappointed! You will see lots of artists you have features on your videos!!! Please!
I mean its cool til you realize they got Scripture mixed up. 😁 so in later editions, they took the mixed up Scripture out. Some confusion about turning stones to bread.
You should listen to another New Edition alum: Johnny Gill. He replaced Bobby Brown when he left the group and has a completely different voice, but talented nonetheless. Johnny Gill's "My, my my" is a song that will give you chills.
I WILL dance to this every single time I hear it.
Started as New Edition but we loved Bobby solo and Bel Biv Devoe together even more.
They cranked out the timeless club hits.
I’m 52, still dancing to it.
Bobby Brown literally was one of the best R&B artists of the 90s. He was quality.
Killed this on my Walkman in high school, Roni and my prerogative were faves too... dont forget Ralph Tresvant and Jonny Gill also went solo and Ricky Bell, Mike Bivins and Ronnie Devoe formed BelBivDevoe. New Edition made one of the best collections of music ever!!!! Even their comeback album was back to back bangers😁
For sure. This was the best. Also and not as big but remember, 112, Mint Condition Soul For Real "candy Rain"?? and the girl bands, SWV, Total, Mary back in the day...
@@ninobk196 so true! So many amazing artists and albums that you left on repeat until you knew every word of every song! So many amazing tracks were never released as singles or as b sides, so you practically kill to get your hands on an album😍
Then make killer specialized mood mixed tapes 😂
Roni and Don't be Cruel were my jams. My Prerogative is what set his solo career off (at least imo).
King of stage was good too
"Truth about a 'Roni'......."
"Rock With-cha" was tight also.....
That whole album was tight. Could play the entire album w/o having 2 skip any of those jams. That album was da bomb.com.
@@juliemcdaniel499 it's not like that nowadays
Bobby was the king of “New Jack Swing” back in the day. He was on fire, & ushered in other acts on that same vibe
Bobby brown was the bad boy they couldn't control
From my generation.
Thank you so much.
I had this cassette ❤️.
