Meditation and affirmations is honestly the key for weight loss. Food itself is not the issue, lack of motivation to exercise is not the issue. The underlying culprit for non-health related inability to lose weight lies in the brain - our ability to respond to stress, manage stress, and reduce stress.

What if I have back pain and can’t exercise due to injury? What the problem is I overeat and can’t stop

@@DianeTV22 I’m so sorry to hear about your injury that must be so frustrating and challenging at times for you. Are you able to walk ?
Gosh I’ve struggled with overeating and emotional eating my entire life and still to this day I’ll have short episodes.
The ONLY thing that halts the overeating in my personal experience is setting a timer for 15 minutes and a large glass of water every time I grab something to eat. I know it sounds silly and inconvenient but it really can help - it’s a gradual thing that you eventually will no longer have to do as you will get used to stretching out your meals for 15 minutes. It might seem like it is not helping at first but I found after a few times it really makes a huge change.
Another huge thing for me to help with overeating is doing a forgiveness meditation the day after overeating.
Also not labeling food as good or bad was a huge breakthrough.
And finally, not expecting to see weight loss or results in a short period of time really helped. Adjusting to no longer overeating is a long term goal. Think about it you are reprogramming your brain to eliminate a behavior / habit that has been engraved in your brain for years and years. It’s going to take time to restructure the neural pathways and your stress response that is intertwined with eating.
Sorry for the long paragraph. I’m not a nutritionist or doctor.

Commitment and discipline is key. To keep going and not stopping. Pat yourself on back when you see results. For me I buy myself a new top with each kilo I lose. I also tell my husband.

Well, for me, it's an addiction. It's a bandaid to supply me with dopamine when I am feeling sad, anxious or tired. It's self medicating exactly like cocaine. Just traded one for another. Sugar is a drug. Flour, pastas grains all become sugar in the end. Even skinny people are in trouble these days.

I didn't think I was the type of person that could be hypnotized but as I became more relaxed, twice I became aware I'd slipped into a different state of mind. I'm going to keep listening! The man's voice is very calming!

@reesalooney9254 Hi there, so I think this video lead me to pay attention to what I'm eating and start a more consistent healthy lifestyle. I have mostly cut out trans-fats, alcohol, gluten, sugar and blackened foods. I am down about 7-10 pounds vs last year and have gained some muscle.

I think it’s generally a good hypothesis but the 80/20 is bo good idea. It would mean I could eat all whole day bad food. I’m more like a 95% and a very mindful 5% - stressed is here the mindful, because it’s shown that only one meal with bad stuff can disturb multiple days afterwards of healthy metabolism.
