Good recovery in a tricky situation. I can’t see why anyone would criticize your decisions! You know your equipment capabilities much better than us viewers. You cleared the road quickly and secured the wreck in a safe location. I would say job well done!
Boy I feel your pain! Had one similar to the damage of your customers vehicle. On I-75 crashed in the median of a FDOT emergency vehicle turn around. Raining and on a slope full size truck and the harder I tried the more it resisted. Finally did something similar to what you did and got it up on flat ground and finished it off. “Trooper said boy that one gave you a fit” When your the man on the ground you do what you have to do. You had it secured enough for a low speed backing maneuver. Lol Nice Job! From Jones Auto and Towing
great job, your job is to clear the road as quickly and safely as possible and you did that. moved to an area that was alittle more safe to finish the tie down. to quote another youtuber tower Ron Pratt of midwest towing in scott city missouri there can be 100 different was to do a job but as long as the end result is the same. who cares. keep doing things your way until someone shows you a smarter way that works for you.
I just discovered this channel a few hours ago. I have already viewed several of this channel's videos, as I found their content most enjoyable. I am a US military veteran, whose hearing and surrounding cranial nerves, were ultimately, irrevocably traumatized by an explosive blast wave. I am very happy to report that your channel's audio is pleasing and pain-free. [Some UA-cam channels start to hurt my ears and head! They be immediate history!]
The only thing that matters is clearing the road as fast as is safely possible while doing no more damage to the towed vehicle. After doing recovery work for 8 years in the 70s, I can tell you the police just want it loaded and gone to cut down on secondary crashes and the danger of getting run over. Most excellent job, in my humble opion.
That has changed hugely in British Columbia. When I was towing the officer pulled out camera, notebook and tape measure. By the time the ambulance left I was hooking up. The past 5 years or so they will shut down a major highway with NO detour for hours waiting for an accident specialist. (I've seen 12 hours in bad weather with children stuck in cars in the line up)
Ain't gonna lie, took me a hot second to figure out what you were up to when you picked it up half on the bed. Then It made good sense both from an equipment and personnel safety perspective, and just common decency not wanting to hold people up like that when you have an option not to. Shame the truck's gonna have to be junked, but at least the young fella driving it isn't hurt; pickups can be replaced, people can't. Another job safely in the books. Thanks for putting up the videos.
I jst started watching you channel. Do you bave any rollbacks . Have only seen the ford 450 im guessing the 16 ton and the peterbilt.just wondering guys. God bless and be safe out there. I use to drive a tow truck too from a 1 ton wheel lift up to a 40 ton peterbilt. You put your life on the line everytime you step outta that truck. Be safe. Best tow truck video channel i have seen yet
Good job getting the road opened quickly and cleaned up nice but maybe next time if you can’t the the truck to move over move your snatch block the the other side and pull it over then take the snatch block off
Looks like that was a dumb question on the rollbacks. I see that you do if i woulda waited about 3 minutes. I woulda got my answer. God bless ,good luck and be safe
I know why yoh did what you did thru out. To reload on the flat ground will be less damage to the toyota. It always amazes me how people that dont knkw anything about the business ridicule rhe ones that do it every day. God bless and be safe out there buddy.
Plain and simple wrecker and dollies would have been easier less of a struggle then what your flatbed was giving you and you could have used the sling for the missing front tire

Thank you Terry, we try to minimize the time the roadway is shut down whenever possible.

Man, I see that dog box in the back and the first thing that goes through my head is “I hope the pups weren’t in there!”
Thankfully there were no injuries on this job!
