      I had a 15yr break when Wifey bought an old vf750f to give me something to play with. Love the bike but my busted back hated it. Last year I took a ride on a mates M50 and my back let me ride for hours. I bought a C50 back in Feb and am loving it. For what my opinions worth, Boulevards are a great bike to get back on the road with.

    I’m in the process of finalizing financing on a RE Meteor 350. I’m commuting 15 miles on backroads that are 50 mph. After watching a few M50 videos, I’m contemplating switching and grabbing the M50 I saw on the showroom floor for the same price. Looked identical to this one!

    Great review, every word is fact. Especially the low profile and peg dragging on turns, ugh. With that said, it's a great city bike for the price. The price allows me to make custom upgrades. But overall, it's a great bike. And the engine braking, makes up for the old school drum. Compression and torque outrageous at mid range. So much more to say, I love it, especially with the first 5 years warranty. But that's just me 😂. P.S. I 🤔 no it surprises people how quick she jumps off the line., And I would like a 6th gear.

    • @ElearningDigest
      @ElearningDigest 3 роки тому

      @@mukarram9469 Yes, the shift down from 3rd gear down to 2nd really reduces the speed greatly. That seems to be the secret to engine breaking on this bike. At first, I would jerk as the drop in speed was so sudden, but now I have learned to do it more smoothly.

      @@itsme3928 Hey there, I'm the 2nd owner. And it had been garaged, just sitting for years. Still had the original tires from 2004. the only real issue was the fuel pump and the tank. The tank was very rusty and the internal parts of the pump just needed replace. The filter was brittle and needed replaced. As for the electrical parts on it. There are two thermisters that get rusty, so replaced those. That was the most expense that I really had. Fuel pump from Amazon Thermistors (2) from the Suzuki Dealer. UA-cam has tons of maintance videos that helped me do it all. The fuel tank is still very clean. Run Non ethanol. This is a very low maintainence vehicle. I like being able to work on it my self. Just added lockable Viking bags. 3" risers bring the bars closer, aux. LED lights and new led headlight. This bike looks like a 2005 Softail, has a low center of gravity, and fun to ride. But easy to work on, and low maintenance. Had 16,500 whan I bought it and now is 28,000 +

    Can anyone comment on the leg length to the foot pegs on the m90 vs m50. I have an m50 and am 5’4” and not much reach left in my legs when on my 50, thinking about upgrading to a 90 but concerned on the reach. My buddy has a fat bob and I would need mids on that bike.

  • @litltoosee
    @litltoosee Рік тому +2

    M90, such an under rated bike. If you can score an m90, between 2010 and 2013, with low mileage, then you got a bike! Sleek, rugged, robust, torque out the **s, water cooled(take care to tend to coolant manual guidance), and engineered like "a brick S**thouse! This M90 Boulevard is sweet, and forgiving, to a point..... She will forgive, but get to know her. Cause she can not fix stupid... this bike's got a ton of power, she's nimble for a 700lb plus wet ride, but she is a nuclear reactor waiting to be set free...never, ever open the throttle full wide from a full stop. You'll just melt your rear tire. Because of her design, her center of G is slightly forward of the Rider. which makes you instinctively lean forward a bit for balance. She has a semi racing handle bar configuration that helps. When I feel the need for a controlled explosion, She's waiting.. ready, eager, but...I make sure when I mount her, I am keenly aware of her awesomeness....

    2019 m50 or 2020 Vulcan custom 900. I'm torn because I like the m50 and it's price point and looks but I like the power of the Vulcan. And my buddy just bought a Vulcan and they only have one color scheme not trying to match him the m50 was my first choice any suggestions on what I should lean more to? I'm coming from sport bikes and trying to get comfortable on cruisers.

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  4 роки тому +1

      Could always do a Vulcan Classic that would have the same engine. But it would be wire wheels and little different dynamic due to the thinner front wheel and such. Different scheme on the paint and such. Or even find a used Vulcan custom 900 with low miles with the previous paint schemes too. The M50 is not a bad deal at all either. Power delivery is near equal despite the 100CC less and the M50 has a weight benefit as well. So it would be the seating position and weight feel while you're sitting on each bike. I would feel the both out and see what would be more comfortable. But both are not a bad direction to go.

    What’s apreload? Can suspension be enhanced?

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  4 роки тому

      Preloading a suspension compresses the spring more so that it has less travel in it to take on the weight of rider/motorcycle. This takes out some choppiness and bounce, but not everything. A machine that has rebound/compression adjustments are higher dollar, but can be fine tuned to the rider. Adjusting the compression once more is like preload as it helps absorb the bumps while rebound adjusts how fast the shock comes back to original position to take the next.

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  3 роки тому

      This could be due to the cables for acceleration not properly setup, or something with that particular unit. I never felt that issue. Something doesn't make sense. You're a bit shocked by how low the bike is. And yet the seat height is on the high side for a cruiser. What gives? Note: Suzuki M50 seat height is 27.6 in. Taller than: Shadow at 25.7 in. Vulcan VN900 at 26.8 in. and Vstar 950 at 26.5 in.

    • @RabidHedgehog
      @RabidHedgehog  3 роки тому +2

      To me I felt very low in this saddle. Maybe it is because the bike stretches me out better than those mentioned there and I kind of appreciate that being on the taller side. But every time I went to land a foot the ground was slapped way quicker than I anticipated as I knew this seat was higher than some. It's also possible because I had just got finished riding around an FTR with a much higher position too and the awkward transition may have aided in that feeling.
