    Super video! Never had a gas chainsaw before, bought a used one was told all it needs is sharpening everything else is fine...NOT! No fuel was getting to the primer so I took it apart and everything was crumbled inside the tank fuel filter laying on the bottom pieces parts of fuel line everywhere but didn't know what went where. Thank you for your wonderful help.

Besides buy a new one !

    • @smallengineguys
      @smallengineguys  2 роки тому

      make sure lines are correct. filter line to right of carb left of carb to short primmer nipple long primmer nipple to tank no filter. if that is correct and it is priming. dump half a waterbottle cap of mixed gas in the carb hold throttle wide open pull till it starts. if it starts you will want to turn low screw just a smidge counter clockwise. try again. after that do the high counter clockwise 1/4 turn at a time till it runs. if it didnt start first take off muffler look at piston. if you see any lines in it its fucked if not is it flooded? if flooded turn high screw clockwise till snug tight dont over tighten. that shuts fuel off. pull with trigger wide open till it fires. now cylinder is dry. turn high screw out 1/4 turn at a time till it runs. probably 3/4 to 1 and a 1/4 turns out

    Here's my deal when I do these saws I do the fuel lines how they were simply because when you cut down tree which lets ne honest who cuts down a tree with this saw but if you do the filter/fuel pickup need to be to the right side of the tank or it'll run out of fuel when used on it's side

      @@smallengineguys okay progress…..
      Gapped it at .02 L was closed…… H was set at 2 1/4 turns …… and i have no idea where to set the idle screw underneath…..
      It popped and then ran i opened up the H another quarter turn and sounded good on the upper
      The L idle was unimpacted by any of the turns….. i had set it at 1 3/4 turns.
      I had the upper cover off and nothing over the air intake and it was smoking a bit which makes me think …. It’s a little rich or too much oil (?)……. After running it for about 3 min, i shut it down to put the cover on….. and couldnt get it to pop again with the cover on……. I am off to grab some carb cleaner…. And let it cool down 🤷🏼

    If I understood correctly, the return hose, which goes between the large nipple and the fuel tank uses. the smaller line whereas the suction and fuel lines are the thicker tubes. Is that correct?

    • @smallengineguys
      @smallengineguys  2 роки тому +1

      originaly it was the other way around but doing it this way prevents hoses crossing and pinching. just a trick i learned over the years. goes large line on right from filter to right side of carb. left side of carb to small nipple. long nipple to small line on left of tank no filter

    i have a poulanPro,, but my lines aren't like this. the one you showed pushed through the body from the fuel to the tank to the bulb on mine goes to the carb, not the primer bulb. mine wasnt running after one use,,it could be gas but I took it apart and the primer bulb line just isn't hooked to anything ,,,i pumped the bulb and could see the fuel pumping out in the body. i see no port for it at all, it was just filling the area with fuel. this can't be right. but i see no other port.
    i have 3 lines,,, now that its apart,, i only see where one goes, as it still is attached.

    • @smallengineguys

      2 holes in tank one right and deep on left and shallow. right goes from filter to right of carb left of carb to short barb on primer bulb then from long barb on primer bulb to left tank hole. i promise they are both there.
