- Today we're at Dorset's hottest festival, the 'Great Dorset Chilli Festival' at Stock Gaylard. It's just one example of a weird and wonderful event in Dorset's calendar, and there's plenty of spicy specialities to try. There's some strange singing and dancing (not just our own this time), as well as a chilli eating competition. And remember… when You have had this extreme spicy 🌶 peppers, NEVER take water - it will make it burn deeper and longer. Just take some sugar- that will quench The heat inmediately. Also very well known in The Indian and Indonesian cuisine

Sunscreen or hats might have helped you ……but your young so you can recover 🙃 Loved the chili tasting, you’re both pretty brave. As was said, sugar would be best to remove some of the heat after effects 🥵. I use a lot of serrano, pasilla and poblano chilies when I cook, mostly for tomales and enchiladas. Haven’t grown anything hot, just bell peppers. Also, Stephen, you kept making me so nervous when you were touching your eyes cuz if you got those chili samples in your eyes your vid may have gone sideways 🫣. Great tour, 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👋🏼👋🏼
The ever changing English weather caught us off guard, it definitely isn't that hot when we left 😂 But sunscreen would have helped a lot! Glad you enjoyed the chilli tasting, my taste buds definitely didn't thank me for it 🙈 He was very lucky not to get any in his eyes! Thanks for watching 💕

Hi there Stephen and Claire. Your festival looked like super fun! I live in the southern US and grow Carolina Reaper peppers. It is one of the hottest peppers in the world ( it was the hottest last year). We use peppers in our hot pepper vinegar mopping sauce for our BBQ( pork). If you can find these peppers, try them! They are fantastic!

My son loves hot sauce! He said to drink milk rather than water after eating “really hot” hot sauce. The capsaicin is what causes the heat and is dissolved in milk.

I don't like spicy hot Chile's. My dad loved them and was not happy unless they were really hot and he was sweating and crying. Milk or a dairy product is only thing that will take away that burn from the spiciness.
I am with your dad! I heard that eating sweets work too...(I wouldn't know though since I never felt the need to use those remedies.)

Milk, or better yet, ice cream takes away the painful burn of chiles. Cayenne is about as hot as I can stand, and I do frequently grow them on the south side of my house.
I grow serrano chili peppers. If you are going to say it, say it correctly--ha la PAIN yo. It hurts my ears when people say it like that. Wow! a mariachi band! There are no healthy-sized portions of pork cracklings. Thanks for a fun video.

My husband and I work very hard to help Harris and keep him happy. Having your videos to watch and see the countryside different areas and has been amazing! I just really wanted to let you know that I love your trip to Scotland! It is one of my wishes to get it one day and see all of the castles. Actually my greatest dream is to go to England and all the castles! I think it would be awesome to stay in that little house you stayed at in England on your last leg of your trip!
