It's a great platform for modifications, an alnico pickup is recommended, Aguilar musicman ones are a great option, the preamp is adequate to get the classic classic 'musicman' tone. If not the preamp will be the next mod, otherwise it's solid and feals good neckline, if you're more comfortable with a jazz neck profile. Overall it's miles above it's price range compared to other instruments short of ibanez's bass's on the preamp side of things.
I just got the Black Satin GC sale version. Not as pretty but same guts. Very nice build quality. I just returned one of Squier Jaguar H Basses.It was both damaged by UPS and had no real tone option. Choose from Blah or Blah?
