💀 Hey Skeleton Crew! Let us know which song has the most , which song has the most , and drop the time code of your favorite licks! Oh, and say hi to if you see him ;)
Everytime I watch your stuff I learn something. And I'm 1,000 years old and been playing Bass for about 900 years. So credit where credit is due.
This bass has been out for years, but this is easily the best review I've seen of it yet. Very well done.
thanks ryan!
I bought one in Olympic White and I was so Impressed with the Sound & Playability. The neck and frets were fantastic and sounds great with my Fender Rumble 100. Great little Bass. oNe LovE from NYC
Good to hear it in the context of a production. Very seriously thinking about getting one of these.
Thank you for this vid. I snaged one in Carolina Blue to learn to slap on. Keep kililng dude.
I love the sounds you got out of this, 5 years ago I was close to getting an original music man sterling, but decided on another bass which I also love, I'd buy one as you say for the size & price plus be easier to get the grandchildren playing with a short scale such as this, so it's a double thumbs 👍 👍up from me, great channel 😁
A passive stingray. Brilliant. It's about time.
Such an awesome review with badass playing!! Thanks 🙏
Great demo!! Just ordered mine this morning thru your affiliate link... hope it helps ya out👍
Hey Jayme. This is by far a better bass that you've reviewed so far. I have the sub 4. It's a real snappy bass. Throw a Darkglass capsule in it and hold onto your shorts. It has this clean, snappy, low growl like non other, that I can think of.
A less than Jake shirt?! I forgot all about that band! Awesome video as always Jayme
they're my favorite ;) thanks!
Hi Jayme, I really admire the diversity of styles that you play and you play them so well! Great job man, love your videos!
thanks bob!
how the hell are you getting such a twangy slap tone from a short scale bass w only one hum bucker pickup? my stingray just sounds warm and dark when I try to slap
Cool man, I have one just need to learn to play it. Checked out your site today. Looks cool.
Thank you for this great review. This bass is very nice.
that jazz fusion bit sounds like a Steve Lukather jam 😀 😺
Smokin’ Jayme. You could almost convince me to get that model. ;)
Trying to combat gear acquisition syndrome.
Glad to see that Dracula approves of the short scale Sting Ray! *Darn* , I guess you *have* to keep it... 😂Fantastic review!!!
While it does retain that Sting Ray essence, using the 3 position Single/Series/Parallel switch with the passive tone control, you can really get pretty close to a P-Bass and a J-Bass, too! The short scale Sting Ray has got me considering converting my Ray35HH to passive...
haha ya Dracula is definitely a fan ;)
You need to show how the rotary switch works between parallel, single and series!
Grab a pick and play some punk rock. BTW, loved your commercial for buy my merch.
thanks! did it work? ;)
and for punk rock with a pick check out this video around the 8:20 mark ua-cam.com/video/Z9cPiwrSY50/v-deo.html
I'm looking into one of these now. Even in dropped copper! I have a sterling SUB series but it'd just too large and heavy for me, otherwise I'd be playing it a lot more.
That Bass sound great. BUT it No Way sounds even close to a P bass. Thats OK though.. However it still sounded good
And about the construction, the paint quality , and material, like the hardware, , the weight , the neck dive, the frets finish are good?
I do talk about some of those things in my Deep Dive video at www.patreon.com/posts/64729910
What pickup settings did you use?
DONT SEND IT BACK JAYME KEEP IT
why this passive bass is this expensive 😢
Your P-Bass sound sounded more like a J-Bass.
While I agree that you're a great player, your review of this bass leaves much to be desired.
You fail to mention the pickup coil switching options and the volume boost option. Also, I would think most bassists would want to hear the straight up sound of the instrument not the processed sounds like you are showing here. Too much emphasis on slap and not enough on other styles of music. Also, there is no way that this sounds like a P bass at all. The way you have it mixed it sounds like an overly compressed Jazz bass on the bridge pickup. It's a nice burp but it has no fatness nor bottom punch like you get with P and flats.
As an owner of one of these basses I can tell you that it is capable of many more sounds and tones than you are showing here.
