      Hx stomp is definitely more flexible. Untill you run out of cpu you can stack same type of effects, where ampero allows to only have one delay, one reverb at a time.
      Hx stomp has an fx loop, so agai you can put your stuff in, in any point of the signal chain, so that your modeller gets some cpu back.
      I see people use it with violins, cellos , as well, where the IR does the wooden full size instrument sound emulation.

      In English its Ho Tone.
      “Hot Tone” requires another “T”. You said so yourself.
      In fact, in no other latin based language would it be phonetically pronounced “Hot Tone” without a second “T”.
      Now I realize, perhaps the manufacture may have meant for it to be called something else…
      However, they spelled it wrong… 🤷🏻‍♂️
      The only spelling that the name could work with only one “T” is “Hawtone”… like “That’s Hawt”. But even then I would still imagine it should be spelled “Hawt Tone”, with a second “T”, in order to not confuse people.

      I have had a barrage of unpleasant comments on this video, so I apologize if I’m kind of over it.
      Here’s something that -Hot Tone- could have done to “possibly” ensure people pronounce their name correctly:
      Not market their logo like “HOTONE”…
      Instead perhaps make it “HOTone”.. though thats likely to be read as “Hot One”. Which is what my friend and I call it.
      Either way the next video I’m releasing it’ll be mispronounced about 100 times…

      I agree there could have been a more thought out solution. The spelling makes it kind of sound bad. I was really impressed with their mini solid state amps. A lot of UA-cam videos call them a joke but when I hooked them up to a couple of v 30 speakers with a little compression I found them to get very good sustainable tone. The British invasion (vox) and the mojo diamond(fender) were the best replications of those amps I could ever ask for. I was even able to get great tones from the heart attack (mesa) , the freez(freedman/hotrodded marshall and the captain sunset(soldano). The eagle (Engle) didn't work right for me not sure if it was product defect. Not sure if they discontinued thos amps because people didn't take them seriously after people were doing video reviews of them plugging them in to 4 by 12 cabs or little tinny speakers that sounded bad and giving bad remarks about them.

    The world's most powerful compact amp modeler is still the HX Stomp. Until this can do polyphonic pitch shifting, until it has models of Sunn amps, until it has fuzz that can react to your guitar's impedance, it's not coming anywhere close. There are a long list of effects you can think up that this absolutely does not have. For example a freeze function. For example a glitch delay.
    Just sucks to see so much false advertising.

    • @MadManMusic
      @MadManMusic  Рік тому +1

      The Ampero Mini is smaller than the HX Stomp. Therefore, it being the the most powerful for its small size still stands. Its tiny and super capable.
      And though it doesn’t model Sunn Amps or Variable Impedance Fuzz, it offers a ton of stuff most people would actually use at half the price. 🤷🏻‍♂️
      In my opinion and experience, I’ve really never enjoyed the sound of Line 6’s Amp Models. I’ve used Line 6 products since the Pod XT Pro and I have never been impressed with the sound quality. The HX Stomp included. The only feature that made the HX Stomp fairly usable for me as an Amp Modeler is that you can load your own IRs to dial in a tone… which the Ampero Mini also does..
      I feel like the only truly decent sounding units Line 6 offers are their standalone Effects Units that dont model amps. I used the HX Effects for years, as well as the M9 and I still own the M5. However, even those have their issues.
      I mean, all products have their issues, the Ampero Mini is no where near perfect, but it’s Features and Capabilities far outweigh its Price Tag. Which was the point of this video.
      I own a Kemper Power Rack and the Ampero Mini has seen more stage time than it has. Because it worked better for what I needed at the time AND it saved me from checking another piece of luggage (rack case) on a week long coast to coast US fly out tour with Napalm Death.. so it saved tons of money. Plus as a bonus, if I would have lost it or it broke or was stolen, its only $230 as opposed to $2000 to replace.
      Sorry for the novel, I’m catching tons of flack from people that just dont get the point and bring up obscure features that no one asked for from overpriced effects units. Im trying to make people see that budget gear holds a lot of value for the every day guitarists.
      And I apologize for the Title, but thats how UA-cam works. Click Bait Titles. At least my videos actually show people interesting stuff that saves them money. For other accounts its the other way around “I paid $5000 for an Overdrive Pedal!” Why? 🙈
      Anyway, Thanks for watching, I do appreciate it and I hope you have a great day!

      @@MadManMusic It's not the most powerful OR the most compact.
      It doesn't let you explore any sound or effect you can think up... unless your imagination is limited to creating an effects rack from the 80s. And only if you exclude all of the creative shit Alesis, Boss, Yamaha were doing. No shot this is even attempting Eventide shit of that day. Let alone all of the stuff that happened since the 80s. Granular shit? Nope. Any kind of phasing beyond your standard OTA 6-stage... for that matter any kind of nonconventional modulation? Nope. The wackiest reverb you can get is some basic modulation, which is just standard nowadays. Can it replace the Chase Bliss loopers? Nope. It just straight up doesn't offer everything you can think up. It's not even the closest at doing it. Not even in its form factor. The old Zoom MS-50 from more than a decade ago is smaller, cheaper, and does more of the above mentioned than this shit.
      It's not just the clickbait title either. You make these claims in your video. They're just straight up not true.

    • @MadManMusic
      @MadManMusic  Рік тому

      @@onlinescammer8291 Except, they are true. The actual usability is exactly what it needs to be for its Size and Price.
      Again, you’ve mentioned things that only a small fraction of guitarists / musicians would even care about. Also you’ve listed a ton of gear (with the exception of the Zoom, which wouldn’t come close to sounding like the Ampero Mini) thats much more expensive than this $230 unit. Eventide?? $300 minimum for a single effect? Will that effect be awesome? Yes! As it should be for that kind of money.

      Mmmm.. 🤔
      I mean I feel ya, Tubes are always superior… but it depends on what you’re doing!
      If you’re traveling, modelers are MUCH easier than lugging a large amp. And through a PA the audience cant tell the difference.

      @@MadManMusic I have to admit my statement was purposely provocative...I can totally see why it makes sense to use digital only...and yeah the audience can't tell 4 sure, but imo you really have to know what youre doing when you go fully digital, my Marshall JCM 900 sounds good only by cranking it, just one pedal before that boom and im satisfied xD so I guess it's also my fear of doing stuff I dont know shit about that lets me stay away from modelers..🫣❤️🤘🏻

      @MaximilianHoyer Thats fair!
      I tour using a good ole fashioned EVH 5150 III 50 Watt Tube Amp. I love it. I also own a Kemper and a few other modelers including the Ampero Mini… its kind of like having a tool for any occasion.
      As a pro touring artist, I my need one of those tools out there somewhere.. so its cool to have it.
      But I totally get why people are hesitant.
      I’m actually in the process of motivating myself to make a bunch of Kemper Content and do some A/B tests with Analog Gear etc.

    TONES ARE BAD. I HAD AN AMPERO II NICE UI THOUGH. NO DRUM MACHINE IN II AND LOOPER WAS BAD- LOOKED GOOD BUT NOT USABLE REALLY.

    • @MadManMusic
      @MadManMusic  Рік тому +1

      I personally don't find the Drum Machine useful, but I can see where a beginner or someone working on a playing technique could find it useful. And at this price point it makes sense to include it because there will be Beginners that are interested in purchasing it.
      But not usable is very hard to believe. It just depends on what you "Need".
      If you're playing with a 2-3 tones throughout your set, or better yet just one really dialed in tone, its perfect.
      However, if you're in a Prog band that requires a lot of fast changes, it won't hold up... but thats why they sell Kempers and Quad Cortex's.
      But these little guys certainly give you a lot of bang for your buck!

      @@JoonKimDMD No Joon. Get a used MG-30 from GC for about $200 (what I paid- like new.) Then for $20 buy a separate metronome or use a simple drum beat from the MG-30. Ideally, get a RC500 Looper pedal. That too has drums but is not cheap. I love mine. For the price, the MG-30 is quite good. Especially the cleans with some light reverb.

    • @MOAB-UT
      @MOAB-UT Рік тому

      @@JoonKimDMD I would instead get a used MG-30. It sounds better and has drums. You could use that as a metronome or a slow drum beat. Slow down your picking BTW. A nice looper would help you to like a RC500 I have and love which also has drums.

      Ok. Noted. Thats not awesome.
      The pedal I’m actually talking about in this video (not the Xtomp) is affordable, sounds awesome and works great for the money.
      I explain all the Pros and Cons in my review video and I think there’s plenty of reason to buy the pedal.
      The Website and User Guide are all really Visual and Easy to Read. So there “shouldn’t” be too much need to contact support unless your unit is faulty. In which case you should return it to the place you bought it.

      @@MadManMusic Nope. You are repping for Hotone and/or you play 1-2 obnoxious patches that are not very complex. You play the same tones over and over and over again. You clearly are not a tone aficionado. I bought a FM9 and can tell you there is no comparison. Even a FM3- for it's size is better and more powerful.
      For an absolute beginner on a budget, the better Ampero II might be ok. Relatively better than an old Boss or Zoom pedal. When you make outrageous claims, you lose credibility...or you just simply don't know good tone like I do. Maybe to you an old digitech pedal rocks. Not really.
      Also, what is with all the faces- is that supposed to be your brand or something? It's dumb. By stark contrast, watch this REAL guitar player and notice his complete LACK of facial expression...especially at the end after playing one of the most amazing pieces of music on UA-cam. Then compare and contrast that to you- no offense, likely hammering away at the same power chord for an hour and ear splitting levels with all your many faces. People would buy a CD of him PLAYING. Would they buy yours- all alone, on stage with just a guitar- no facial expressions allowed...just your music. I think not.
      Enjoy:

      Remember, some pretend like they are Rockers- whilst others simply are. Remember the old Billy Joel (doesn't make faces either) line from Piano Man: "The waitress is practicing politics, while the businessmen slowly get stoned." Look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself, which are you my friend- the waitress or the businessman?
      No need to make a silly or hostile reply to me friendo- it's boring. I also do not care even a little bit about what you think anyway. Keep it real to yourself. Stop overhyping mediocre products. You are not fooling anyone.

      First of all. I’ll reply however I like “friendo”… My Channel, My Rules. You don’t have to be here tossing insults at me.
      You’re comparing a heavy metal guitarist to Billy Joel…? Why? Obviously I don’t compare to him, in any way… NO ONE DOES! 🤷🏻‍♂️
      You’re just a troll that feels the need to spew your negativity onto someone else’s work. No one needs that, we have enough bullshit to deal with in this world.
      You’re not a super hero because you have an opinion. You’re entitled to it, and thats fine, but you didn’t add to the conversation at all… you straight up attacked me. You really shouldn’t be proud of that.
      You picked a fight. And THAT makes YOU lose credibility.
      “Tone Aficionado”? …I’m not over here reinventing the wheel. I’m showing people that they don’t need to spend big bucks to have something that’s useable.
      And I’ll say it again, this pedal is TOTALLY usable. Maybe you just don’t know what you’re doing with it. And that’s cool too.
      Over the last few weeks I have used this pedal professionally, on tour, around the world, for a living… so I think my credibility is firmly intact. A hateful troll’s definitely not gonna “fool anyone” by blatantly attacking me because you don’t agree with what I’m saying.
      And lastly, I express myself how I express myself. Thats none of your concern. If I make faces when I play, its my prerogative. I enjoy playing and it shows in my expressions. If you don’t like it… simply move on with your miserable life.
      Thanks so much for your time. Have a great day.
