This is why my husband gives me the side eye every time a plant or seed packet shows up: I see it, and I HAVE to have it, whether I have room to grow it or not (hint: I don't, but it doesn't stop me 😂) I blame my mother, she would constantly buy new furniture and decor and every time my Dad asked her where she was going to put it because our house was full she would say "I'll find a place' with a smile on her face. I loathe clutter in my home, but every time my husband asks me where I am gonna plant it..."I'll find a place" 😁
I grew sweet peas for the first time last year in a pot with a trellis by my front door. It was so nice to be greeted by that scent every time I came home.
Thanks to you I’m planting seeds for the first time this spring. I just picked up Dara seeds, and already have sweet peas growing in abundance. Thanks for teaching and showing me that I can do this!
Wow you did introduce me to new flowers! Talk about 'pods'... Just down the street from me I watched a wild dry flower materialize. A friend I was driving home said it was from an artichoke. I'm amazed with flowers and You have sO many! Thank You for sharing.....Blessings!
I know this isn’t new, but the content is so timely! I was just getting ready to plant nigella after the neighbors chickens ate my seeds. I love the airy look, thank you, Danielle💙
I was talking with my Bigmomma(grandmother) this week and I told her that I was growing sweet peas and she told me that her mother had sweet peas in her garden.
Hi Danielle, I've been watching your channel for a year now. You provide such amazing content. You are so encouraging about trying new things. I am trying to grow more cut flowers and I'm trying ranunculus for the first time thanks to your helpful videos on ranunculus.
Wow!! I think they are fabulous!! Thanks for sharing your mushroom growing kit, I was always skeptical about growing mushrooms from a kit like that, but seeing your video has changed my mind. You made a believer out of me. 😀
This video is full of flowers I never knew about. I watched the whole thing and noticed in the comments that I watched it 5 months ago. It was wonderful. Thank you for all of your effort to share your experience and knowledge with us. I love it!
sorry to be so offtopic but does anyone know of a way to log back into an instagram account? I somehow lost the password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Malachi Axl Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff now. Takes a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
You know what is awesome. Water lilies. I picked a handful while kayaking. They last a long time. You do gotta fill a container up with water and the flowers float on top of the water. They close at night and open in the morning. I was quite intrigued. I hear water lotus make awesome cut flowers.
I grow love-in-the-mist and bells of Ireland because they have been self sowing for many years in my garden. I live in Southern California and I don’t understand the need to freeze bells of Ireland when they self sow so easily without cold temperatures here. I guess I am lucky. Thanks for the tips.
Thanks for the good info, I grew sweet peas for the first time this year. The smell is heavenly! Thanks for the tip of cutting, I learned some good tips from you.
I grew blueplerum successfully in zone 3b. It was rewarding . Just yesterday I read that it needs light to germinate. I saw videos saying it needs dark to germinate. I used a wet facecloth draped over it to help keep it dark and moist after first surface sowing it and leaving it outside in the snow for a couple weeks covered. Sound like a hassle ? It was , but all the more satisfying to see the seedling emerge after 20 plus days.
This is a wonderful list to explore. Thank you Danielle. I have the perennial Astrantia Major (Hattie's Pincushion) in my shade garden. I never see this old-fashioned favorite on cutting garden lists and am wondering why...
I just started 103 Asiatic Lily seeds! I'm trying something new, got them all in pots with seed starting mix, and all wrapped in plastic bags, misting every couple of days! Fingers crossed!
Thank you so much for this informative video. Your videos are easy to listen to and interesting. You are a natural in front to the camera. You've done so much in a small space!
Watching this video a year later but wanted to drop in to say thank you for all the helpful information and taking the time to sit down and explain it all. This next season, I’m going to pick to “stretch” flowers for my backyard cut flower garden! I so appreciate how you said the challenge can be even more rewarding, I needed that perspective switch! Happy growing☺️☺️
I'm so excited with this video! I just purchases 4 of the 6 you suggested and I'm gonna get the other 2 now. Thanks for the tips, it helps a ton! So much good info!
I really appreciate the details that you provide. I have been gardening a lot I long time and always learn something new from your videos. You are a calming voice.
I've been confused as to why my annual bee balm never blooms. Found out in this video there's a perennial bee balm and that's the one that blooms!🤣🤣 Will still grow the annual but will find a perennial too. Always good info and tips. Thx 🙂
This is one of my favorite videos you have made. Probably because I want to grow all you have shown. Especially nigella and poppy. I have such a hard time with these two. I am zone5. In very early spring have tried to direct seed onto soil w no luck. Following year tried direct sowing into open containers. Got germination but they were so pathetic looking and did not last long. Going to winter sow them in milk jugs this year. Problem is neither like to be transplanted. Crossing my fingers. Feel like that train engine in the children's story who is trying to go over a steep hill. I can do this. I can do this.
Thanks for sharing! That nigella especially is fabulous! I appreciate that this is quick and to the point, but you also gave information about growing AND using each flower along with showing them growing in your garden and being used in arrangements while you talked. Really great way to pack a lot of information into a short and easy to digest video.
I love all these tips for flowers. I am just starting out and you are such a wealth of great info! I am crossing my fingers that my sweet peas will sprout and be happy in our garden! I just love them! I come from a British family and my Nana first introduced me to these lovely flowers! I love growing flowers that remind me of family.
Plan to try 4 out of 6 of these in 2023.. Having a hard time finding Dara for some reason and intimidated by the difficulty of growing Bells of Ireland... but may give it a try with your encouragement!
Please do follow up videos with other list of flowers you grow and a quick how to grow suggestion for each. Wonderful. Thank you. Love your videos, your garden, and your gentle and kind teaching method.
Hi Danielle . Ive also read about different ways of sowing sweet peas and it sounded so hard but what i did was simply put them in a 2 inch container with a lid and it took about 4 days to all come up and 12 more days for me to repot them because they were getting quiet big. That was my experience and none the less i love your channel for being so imformational. Thank you.
Thank you 😊 so much for sharing your gardening information. I really enjoy learning as much as possible about each individual plant 🌱 so that I can decide where, when and even if I should grow it. I live in subtropical Qld, Australia so I try to adapt the information to growing in my climate. Fortunately, we still get a cold winter but without snow. This helps many of the plants that require a cold 🥶 snap.

Omg yr my twin lol
My husband has no idea how many seeds I have (neither do I). I am 75 years old with fibromyalgia. No way will I ever get them all planted.
I grew sweet peas for the first time last year in a pot with a trellis by my front door. It was so nice to be greeted by that scent every time I came home.
Good morning
It's amazing information
💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮💮👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👌👌👌👌
I planted a free packet of carrots seeds from Baker Creek. I let them bloom and cut them for bouquets. They look exactly like the Dara.
Thanks to you I’m planting seeds for the first time this spring. I just picked up Dara seeds, and already have sweet peas growing in abundance. Thanks for teaching and showing me that I can do this!
