Major props for doing this with a cheaper multieffects pedal, it's a great reminder that 9/10 times it's the effect, not the secific pedal, that's important. Great sounds 🙌
Surprising how much effect that higher string gauge had in the comparison. I play with thicker strings anyway Also, good taste with the Toe Hear You album poster
Really well timed, just started learning Firebird last night! I’ve got the Walrus M1 and hadn’t ever really connected with the Lo fi settings until I started that
I think you are on to something with the strings, but I think the real secret is that she's used a bass octave for years only recently switching to the MXR Poly Blue Octave Pedal or Boss Octave in her recent Rig Rundown. I personally think that's where some of her magic is.
Hey Steve what an awesome video! Yvette is one of the guitarists that made me pick up the guitar and u definetely nailed it with this one. New subscriber aboard 👌
I have the Fatbee pedal. I use it just for slight dirt but you can push it to into a fuzz when really overdriven. It's a great pedal when stacked with other overdrives but it's also great by itself.

here she explains that she was using 13's but had to switch down to 12's because her fingers were getting shredded: ua-cam.com/video/jxJ2EB5sfug/v-deo.htmlsi=ZKwnu2LVS-ua1Ac7&t=423
I love Yvette’s guitar tone, but I’m not really a fan of British voiced amps like the vox ac30. I prefer to commit electric guitar heresy and continue to use tweed amps for math rock 😂

"I have owned and sold this pedal 3 times, maybe I have some sort of problem"
I felt that in my soul lol the pedal game is addicting

Love the fact that you are using the MG30. Such a great and versatile platform.
Yeah. I'm pretty blown away by how good it is tbh. My main rig costs a lot more and doesn't sound any better 😅
Parachute is the official song to test for chorus
Fat bee is a Mosfet OD so any amp in a box style pedal would work well.

Got to get me one of the OC5s 👍
I just got the Walrus Fable, and they included a sample of how she uses it and now I hear it when I listen to her
She used to play 13s with a plain g, so it’s interesting to see she gauged down
My fingers are crying at the thought of 13s haha
It works really well, your comparasion at the end is subtle but interesting. GG

Thank you thank you 😁 welcome aboard
I’m new to Covet and was wondering what riff you played when comparing the string gauges. Thank you.

Fantastic 👍 thanks for sharing
ITS ALL ABOUT HOW YOU FINGER THAT PIECE OF WOOD MAAAAAN
In your hands it sounds very close even with 9s!
Is this pedal nice to use with an electric acoustic?
So I watched your video from 4 years ago about mathrock chords and I was wondering, can you do something similar but how to do matbrock on a mandolin?
Nux should pay you to make like 8 patches for the mg30
hey guys, I'm a newbie, who can tell me which plugin Steve is using here?
Great breakdown. What tuning is this song in?
Thanks. The song is in FACGCE tuning
What a fantastic video
Cheers 🙌
I read in an interview once that she uses 12's on electrics, so it might be even thicker than what comes installed from the factory.
Whoa... haha my weedy fingers just cried out in pain 😂
@@LetsTalkAboutMathRock Mine sure did. I don't tend to go above 10 much unless I'm tuning down.

Scratch that. In a more recent video she has downgraded from 12's to 11's: ua-cam.com/video/QnHDjdQrrAk/v-deo.htmlsi=FEw2HOiRbtqkcgLf&t=97
Hello Steve, that strap is amazing, what is it?

Pretty sure her secret is starting piano when she was 4 and practicing 4 hours per day for two decades but hey.
