Man no love for Shingo. He is a great character. And he is goofy but far from a joke character. What he lacks in flame he makes up for in raw strength. He hits like a freight truck.
Yeah, and the fact that he's actually pretty fun to play. I like him for the simple fact that he's a humble and earnest goof that's doing his damnedest to become as good a pyromancer as his idol (who, by contrast was innately born with the ability to control fire, so he doesn't really feel the need to work as hard as Shingo does).
To be fair, it would stranger if they DIDNT get Koyasu back. Man’s never turned down a role in his life and is the most credited voice actor in Japanese history.

@@just_a_rebel8261 actually if you pay real close attention you can see Shingo react to creating a small burst of flames with genuine disbelief showing that there is no lighter involved and that this is genuine flames he's creating
For anyone curious there's a canon manga called "The King of Fighters Gaiden - Origin of the Flame" where Shingo gets sent to the past and meets Kyo's and Iori's ancestors. During that time he manages to manifest a flame fist by complete accident and was sent back to the present. The manga also goes deeper into the Orochi curse and yadda yadda so read it if you're interested.
Shingo is like the same type of character as Sakura, he is the "aprentice" of Kyo. If i´m not mistaken, he learned at the beggining by imitation, until he started training properly. Shingo has also his own moves , like Sakura , but obviously he is also "goofy" , since he doesn´t have the pyrokinesis of Kyo , but he is NOT a joke character. Yuri Sakazaki is the equivalent of Dan, since she literally imitates the moves of the Shoto characters of SF(She has the Shin shoruyken, the Denjin Hadouken and the Shun Goklu Satsu in some games). However, she does all her moves properly and without fail.
Considering she was a character created from a fanart contest (if I'm remembering correctly), I think it's pretty cool that Najd is getting another chance in season 2 here. Aside from that, I assume that part of the reason we got so many characters in season 1 compared to season 2 is because a lot of the season 1 characters' development probably started before the game released.
I like Sylvie's redesign, going from Clown Lady into Goth Girl and looking more streamlined that way, ACTUALLY genuinelly interested in her now! I do wonder if it's single character setups all through 2023 or if the rest of their teams, which I assume will come around, will be shown off once the release dates drop! Because iirc in season 1 of the DLCs it was shown that characters like Rock Howard didn't had teammates either so we can still look forward to what else will be around when Shingo, Kim etc. drop onto their release dates!
Idk a kof fan that isn't super happy to see Shingo back. Calling Shingo a fan favorite doesn't even cut it. Shingo is what every joke character wish they could be. Sylvie is a unique flavor, she's funny to me altho her story is actually very dark. But SHINGO?! SHINGO KEEEKU! .
Personally, I’d argue Shingo and Kim are the “big hook” characters for Season 2. I am glad that Najd is returning. If the speculation is true and the last two are Duo Lon and Hinako, I think that’s kinda cool. I’m fine with Sylvie, but I understand other people’s issues with her. I also almost expect another boss character to be a free update too. Possibly Goenitz.
I can't wait for you to do a Shingo Legacy. (PLEASE do a Shingo Legacy) The dude is so determined that it's very endearing. He wants to be like Kyo but he'll never be able to produce flames, no matter how hard he tries. But he makes up for that in critical hits. Shingo hits like a TRUCK. Sure, he's got some funny aspects like intros and falling out of the air during one move (my favorite joke being that he doesn't get the usual chime sound effect other characters get during SDM's and he has to make the sound himself "Bakiiiinggg!") but overall, he actually feels badass to play.
As many ppl said Shingo is Kyo's #1 fanboi rather than joke character. Like Sakura but discount special power and in the same continuity. Oh yeah. He is critical magnet in this game so definitely has some wallop damage moves. About joke character, actually it goes to Art of Fighting team especially Ryo. But he's up one into established character.
Her story is great too. She was a failed experiment from NESTS (a villain group in KOF if you didn’t know). After NESTS was destroyed, she was wandering the streets without a home until she saw Athena performing on TV. This inspired her to become an idol and put on all of her crazy outfits. The idol thing didn’t really work out tho, so she decided to join illegal fighting rings instead.
Najd was honestly a big surprise for those who are fans of her. Honestly I'm happy she's back cuz her fighting style is sick but a bit tricky to master but still top tier and fan favorite. I'm curious if she'll have special intros this time and what's her new theme gonna be. Though for sylvie well, it's complicated
@@winterice2022 kof 14 was hated so make Sense she's not that popular and I like snk always pick a character that is not always popular and the company literally love shun éi and all the character from 14 maybe not Xanadu lmao

*Im just really hyped for Kim, because I really loved him in the Anime Movies.* Also I just want Igniz and a nerfed Otama=Raga and Re Verse playable outside of Mods on PC.

i'm absolutely ready for season 2 at least, i haven't played any kof15 in a while but sylvie was my most wanted and is definitely getting me back into it lmao
The silhouette of the man could be Saiki and it would make sense for him to return and since if Ash returned Saiki would also return, another option would be the secret boss of Garou which is Kain R. Heinlein and it would also make sense to appear for the sequel of Garou but let's hope they are good DLC and not bad.
KOF XV's second season is definitely winding down from the first season, but look on the bright side...it isn't like Multiversus. First season has five characters, second season....has Marvin the Martian and it's seemingly done next month.
Shingo is like a mix between Sakura and Dan. He's not necessarily a joke character, but he acts like a joker and is hilarious. Shingo is one of my favorite characters in the KOF series ever since '99 not because he's an offshoot of Kyo, but because I love his personality as always being goofy and thinking that he has Kyo's power but does not and is not of the Kusanagi bloodline. Think of him like Sean except no access to ki to do Hadokens or produce fire with Shorykens. He basically has to improvise Kyo's moves to be more of a martial art rather than one of a bloodline trait. As far as the hidden characters, I "think" the first silhouette could be Adelheid Bernstein or Duo Lon, but I'm not sure. The last character displayed is a woman who has a short dress if you look closely, and the only people that I can think of that have been in KOF-like games like that would be Kisarah Westfield from Aggressors of Dark Kombat (ADK) (who was in Neo Geo Battle Coliseum) or Hinako Shijou, the small female sumo who was part of the Women Fighters Team for a few KOF games. That silhouette could be wearing a hat, but it would have to be sideways or somewhat rounded.
I was really hoping for Shen Woo this season so I am disappointed that he didn’t make it, but I’m getting Kim and Najd so it’s fine. Duo Lon is also a cool character that I would be happy to see comeback if he does make it in.
Shingo is actually good Dan. He has been always been the goofy wildcard character, but it past games he had a critical hit mechanics baked in his moves, so he could either be decent or faceroll you to infinity.
It’s more than likely that they’ll bring an OG VA unless they officially retire the role or if they had passed on, Japan voice actors are treated with a lot of respect.
@@sonomni a case of both happening is the late Kiyoshi Kobayashi, the voice of Daisuke Jigen from Lupin III for over 50 years since the very beginning. He had announced that he was retiring and that Episode 0 of Part 6 would be his final performance, both as Jigen and as a voice actor. After it came and went, Kobayashi-san gave his blessings to his successor, Akio Otsuka, and finally retired. But sadly, a few short months after he retired, he finally passed away at 89 I think it was. At least he was there to welcome his successor before he left.
While there are some other characters I would have rather had, outside of Shingo and Kim, I would not call this "dry" at all. Hopefully Sylvie has a different playstyle, she kind of needs it. Glad Shingo is back though. Definitely NOT a Dan joke character.
The fact that the original VA reprised the role after so many years is fantastic. That and the Kusanagi style of fighting is more refined in comparison to the past games because of his training with Kyo’s father.
The fact that Max does not know Shingo Yabuki means that he has not received enough love. I am glad to see him back on the roster and I hope Max will do a *"Shingo Yabuki Legacy"*
Sylvie Paula Paula was such an iconic character introduced in this arc. I'm SHOCKED she didn't show back up in this base game so seeing her in DLC doesn't surprise me in the LEAST
I'm like whatever about Sylvie, but happy as hell that Shingo is back. One of those shadow characters is definitely Duo Long, the other one looks like either Hinako or Kasumi.
Shingo's great at combos and critical damage, the rest everyone had already said here in the comments. The fire in his eyes is just his fighting spirit!
I'm PUMPED for Shingo. He is such a satisfying character to play. And dude hits like a truck!! I think what kills it for me is Kim, for one, should have been core roster in the very beginning. So while it's great he's back, it's more like he should have already been there. Sylvie...ugh. not my cup of tea but she's liked. I was guessing maybe Duo lon and Kasumi Todoh, but now I look from what others said, it does look more like Hinako. Would be surprised if it was May Lee.

this is a dlc season for the KOF fans. for the people who only dabble in KOF, season 1 was the big names, the ones everyone knows (and team awakened orochi, but tbf they're still cool). this season goes harder on the "hey fans, you still want more? here's the wacky shit!" and that's not for everyone, which is cool, but for me, i LOVE this lineup
Shingo can't summon the crimson flames because he isn't of the bloodline, so his moves are what the Kusanagi fighting style looks like without the flame. He also is a bit of a klutz at times.
Shingo & Kim are KOF classics, so having them as the first 2 DLC characters for Season 2 make sense. Sylvie & Najd seems to be top contenders for fan favorites amongst the XIV newcomers (which can be rather hit or miss). Sylvie can be rather off-looking at times, but I'm just gonna attribute that to her cakey makeup and childish mannerisms not translating well into 3D as she does come off as conventionally cuter in 2D artwork. (I expect her to be released at around E3?) Najd... well, I never got the chance to play as her so I'm actually looking forward to giving her a shot. I've heard good things about her, so I have high hopes. (I guess she'll drop at Evo at summer?) For the last two... I suppose they'll be revealed circa summer, but for now, if anyone's still drawing these silhouette into Rock, go ahead and do so. Make Max happy.

Shingo has critical hits on his moves which are literally luck based so theres his anime fighter gimmick. it was removed in every game starting with kof99 but they decided to bring it back for this one. He's been trying to make flames for 25 years now. And finally he can produce tiny sparks on a critical hit. So thats a big deal. And he's voiced by dio brando. I think there are numerous reasons why there are less characters in season pass 2. For starters they are single characters because people complained about having to buy full teams in season 1 when they only wanted 1 of the characters in the team and were forced to pay more because of it. Secondly the first 4 teams were probably planned from before the release of the game and were guaranteed to come out no matter what. For season 2 if the game completely bombed they wouldn't do any more than the first season. And though the game probably didn't bomb i don't imagine it sold far beyond all expectations so they probably aren't going to make another 12 characters in one season like they might've if it sold 2 million copies already. A lot of the hype for the game has died off i doubt any new dlc will sell crazy well so best to keep the amounts of it coming out not too high. As for the choices im honestly confused. not necessarily about sylvie and najd. They were in 14 so a lot of assets can be reused. but the last silhouette appears to be something like hinako or malin. Not only are those characters not popular but they're not in 14 so they have to make them from scratch. so thats such a strange choice. Honestly since its not the hardest thing to do i'd be happy with most of the 14 cast returning. as mostly free dlc though since unless they make significant changes that wouldn't be good to pay for. Or maybe they can be bunched together as a really cheap dlc. But i do want more older characters returning.
Shingo is more like Sean Matsuda from SF: Third Strike. They're both strong while being trained by their masters (Ken and Kyo respectively), but they haven't unlocked their "flame" ki
Glad that Shingo is back after so many years. But I am very hyped for Sylvie Paula Paula's return! My wacky and cute electric doll is back! 🥰💛⚡ SNK Heroines made me a fan of her. She is so fun. About the two mysterious characters, I think the man is Alba Meira from the Maximum Impact games and the lady is Kisarah Westfield from Aggressors of Dark Kombat and Neo Geo Battle Coliseum
I agree with Max, Season 2 is underwhelming. In fact there is a theme with DLC in KOF XV where they recycle DLC and base roster characters from previous installments and make them DLC (mainly from XIV...). Let's look at all the character's they recycled so far. Rock *Recycle* , B.Jenet *New* , Gato *New* , Billy *Recycle* , Yamazaki *Recycle* , Geese *Recycle* , O.Yashiro *Semi-Recycle* , O.Shermie *Semi-Recycle* , O.Chris *Semi-Recycle* , Haohmaru *Semi-Recycle* , Darli *Semi-Recycle* , Nakoruru *Semi-Recycle/Recycle* , Omega Rugal *New* , Shingo *New* , Kim *Recycle* , Sylvie *Recycle* , Najd *Recycle* . So far, that is 8 recycle's (Including Nakoruru, she was mostly implemented from XIV, but she has some new stuff from SamSho), 5 semi-recycle's, and 4 new characters that were remade for XV. Imo, this isn't how you do DLC. You're trying to be a new game...not KOF XIV 2. Most of the DLC and characters are reused from XIV. This game also only has 2 newcomers (Isla and Dolores), and 4 existing characters remade for XV, and tbf it's not feeling like a new game when there are only 2 new characters, 4 character's who are reimagined/reworked for XV, and a bunch of recycled characters from XIV. I get why they had to do this for budgetary concerns and so they have enough money to work on the Garou/Fatal Fury Sequel, but is it really that excessive to the point where they can't make new movesets for new characters? Also no teams this time? Also notice how Najd is released in Season 2 of KOF XV, this was also how she was released in XIV... I'm genuinely worried for KOF XV's lifespan...cuz atm it's not looking so good. Matchmaking is still mess, Online is desolate, and new content is being recycled. Also I don't think Crossplay is going to fix the matchmaking, it will improve it, but the main problem is matchmaking itself and how it can search player's online like how it was intended to do so. Ik I sound really negative, but I genuinely believe KOF XV will flop if SNK don't do anything about it.
Man, these units really put critical strikes back to him, from early 90's KoF They're SO gonna ban him in tournaments lmao, but Shingo NEEDS his critical hits, it's the whole "lucky shot" of his character. The fact that Max missed that little detail is precious, Shingo is such a hard hitter, even his supers have a chance to CRITICAL STRIKE your face off, we gotta see how much extra dmg it does though.
It seems like the second season is more geared towards KoF veterans, as opposed to the first that had some of the most iconic characters. in the series. I mean, most old KoF players will get excited by Shingo and Kim alone, they're loved for their character and gameplay. Sylvie's reason escapes me, as she's a low tier that debuted in the previous game, but I personally liked her, so I'm ok with it. Also I'm totally expecting them to pull another Rugal with Krizalid or something, it'd be amazing to see more boss characters.
I like your honestly so many people get into their feelings and lead with that instead seeing this how they are. The fact that you like sylvie but recognize her return makes zero sense says a lot about you. I'm the same I really liked hein but if snk announced is return I would be shocked because he isnt popular at all he ranked very low in the kof 14 character polls so it wouldn't make sense . Same with shunei I like hin but once his arc is done I wouldn't be susprised if he doesnt make a return
Thanks, I just don't think pushing feelings onto other people is appropiate, and I've seen it happen enough in social media and online forums. Don't lose hope! Hein was in team South Town in XIV, which is a pretty special team lore-wise, so he could feasibly appear again, just like Sylvie did. Fighting game developers don't pick strictly from popularity, so nothing's off the table yet!
I am flabbergasted that sylvie is coming back, so many people were either indifferent to her or disliked her, I felt like on the minority that actually found her entertaining, being incredibly weird without being obnoxious, so to have her returning from 14 makes me giddy to no end.
I really dug the Shingo spin-off manga. Was hoping that he’d actually get to use fire like he does at the end of that. Plus he’s fuckin ripped in that manga
I wanna see what they did to my boi Kim. He seems to have a slight change of clothing, but lets see if that means hes going back to his training roots and learning some new tricks 🤞.
I'm not to big on these choices honestly, Shingo is ok i guess and Kim is great, but Sylvie and Najd don't do anything for me at all. Hopefully the characters coming later in the year are great.
I think something that might be adding to the lackluster-ish feeling of the Season 2 DLC as it stands is that it's all individual characters whereas Season 1 was mostly full teams. And while Rugal came in alone he also introduced the Super Boss Mode but so far it looks like these guys are just going to be standard releases. It makes it all feel less "big" even though these are clearly popular characters (yes, even Sylvie) that a good number of people will enjoy having back.
I think it also comes down to the fact that SNK while trying to make bigger headway in their future and whatnot is that a lot of people still don't know the appeal and the legacy behind some of these characters. Shingo is a huge character and has been featured in a lot of King of Fighters there's a reason he keeps coming back but of course you have some newer fans who don't really know that much about them and just write them off because they don't know anything about him. I'm sure he's not going to be the most exciting inclusion that you could add but the fact that he's here means SNK's listening and people have been wanting him back almost as people have been wanting the new faces team back as hard as it is to believe.
Shingo has been one of the most requested characters to join. It's not SNK's fault that people who aren't even deep into their games constantly try to tell them what to do
Even from a casual perspective, you'd think Shingo would be more appealing in the sense that, when it comes down to it, he's the most "everyman" fighter in the roster. I'd like to think of him as the Peter Parker (or alternatively, Po from KFP) of KOF to a degree. Just an average kid that happens to be stacked as shit going up against pyromancers (including his own idol), cyborgs, and all sorts of other supernatural BS. That, and when you consider how earnest and humble he is about his abilities (as a contrast to Kyo being unabashedly braggadocious) as a fighter, it's easy to see why veteran KOF players enjoy him. That, and, y'know, he's a lovable goof on top of that.

@@just_a_rebel8261 Pretty sure in lore, Kyo's dad mentions it.
Funny given that Kyo only showed Shingo a few moves in 97, and nothing else since Kyo was kidnapped by NESTS.😶
He is a joke character. Get over it.
@@太陽神-u1l Lethal Joke Character to be accurate since his not made to be a complete joke like Dan.
@@太陽神-u1l dawg, reducing him to that is so ass when the character is much more
@@keondramcintyre3444 Hey! Put some respect on Dan! SF5 made him badass and still being goody. I legit like his techniques.
Dan is cooler than Sean
Shingo may seem like a joke character, but he's pretty reliable in the story. In KOF 11, he protected Kyo from a berserk Iori.
Love how max gets told “this is Sakura for kof” then immediately forces it to be “hmmm but I like Sakura so I’m saying he’s Dan”.
Shingo is actually one of KOF canonical champions ['99]. He is no joke.
SHINGO KEEEKU! .
Shingo doing sick kicks from across the screen while yelling his name makes him an instant hall of famer
(PLEASE do a Shingo Legacy)
The dude is so determined that it's very endearing.
I can't wait to see Max's reaction to getting Critical Hit by online shingo's or discovering how much a critical hit can change a match.
As many ppl said
Shingo is Kyo's #1 fanboi rather than joke character. Like Sakura but discount special power and in the same continuity.
Oh yeah. He is critical magnet in this game so definitely has some wallop damage moves.
About joke character, actually it goes to Art of Fighting team especially Ryo. But he's up one into established character.
Do you know Yuri's lore?
Yuri was the joke character actually.
@@sonomni I think it was her and Ryo that inspired Capcom to fire back by creating Dan.

Heinlein and it would also make sense to appear for the sequel of Garou but let's hope they are good DLC and not bad.
God that would be such a letdown.
With his Meteor Combo, a little Paul Phoenix bit are!
He's more like a Joe in terms of comedy style. But he's like Sakura in terms of attitude.
Can't wait to see some new moves since shingo been training with kyo dad
I was hoping for the same thing but it doesn't seem like it
I would rather just have Saisyu instead, to be honest.
I'm just so glad that they brought back the OG VA for Shingo. Takehito Koyasu's been making it big both before and after being Dio.
It’s more than likely that they’ll bring an OG VA unless they officially retire the role or if they had passed on, Japan voice actors are treated with a lot of respect.
@@sonomni That is true. Happened with OG VA for Kyo, he retired.
@@carecoable Yeah he retired because he couldn’t relate to Kyo’s character anymore.

What if that first silhouette is Kain from Garou? 👀

Shingo is definitely a character I want to learn more I hope he got buffed. He was fun to play in 99 and um.
I’m really happy to see Shingo, he’s definitely going on my team!
That silhouette eerily looks like Kain. If it is him, I'ma lose my shit.
(I expect her to be released at around E3?)
Najd... well, I never got the chance to play as her so I'm actually looking forward to giving her a shot. I've heard good things about her, so I have high hopes. (I guess she'll drop at Evo at summer?)
For the last two... I suppose they'll be revealed circa summer, but for now, if anyone's still drawing these silhouette into Rock, go ahead and do so. Make Max happy.

Fun fact: when people say "the king of fighters" they refer to shingo
At this point, Dan is cooler than Sean especially in SF6

SNK Heroines made me a fan of her.
Ik I sound really negative, but I genuinely believe KOF XV will flop if SNK don't do anything about it.
thanks for watching guys
finally, been waiting for the king to react 🙏
Man, these units really put critical strikes back to him, from early 90's KoF
They're SO gonna ban him in tournaments lmao, but Shingo NEEDS his critical hits, it's the whole "lucky shot" of his character.
Who needs superpowers, it's all about muscle power. That's how Shingo kicks asses.

Let's be honest, the whole first season for KOF XV should have been in the base roster.

No he is the sakura of KOF
I'm quite hyped for Shingo and Kim
You might enjoy Shingo. He has some very slight similarities to Shen Woo in terms of gameplay.
Sylvie Paula paula is Kyary pamyu pamyu ingame which probably draws her fans into the game
I'm excited for Najd. She's a pretty cool character design wise but doesn't have much story to her.
I'm hoping shes link to Dolores and kukri
Shingo and Kim are everything of value I see there.
It's not SNK's fault that people who aren't even deep into their games constantly try to tell them what to do
@@o_oro-q1k true
