Doesn’t have that chill club beach vibe it used to have or that Bali or Ko Samui currently has. Feels more like nightlife in Manila or Cebu city. That said Siargao is still a wonderful place in the Philippines and it’s good to see tourism starting to thrive again.
@@jermainerodgers I just don't get the hype tho, if it's all about small party club and surfing waves. Lombok blew this island away, easily (sorry). Cloud9 vs Desert point? Come on, give us a break. Beginner surfing beaches? Dare to compare to Lombok's Selong Belanak beach? Intermediate surfing waves? Lombok's ekas, gerupuk and mawi etc. Long boarding? Tanjung aan beach. Still have more tourists tho, the only thing it's lacking is "overhypers" and "ultra-natiolists" because they chilled. Don't even need to mention Bali's racetrack uluwatu or padang-padang and very far from Mentawai's Kandui left, green bush, hollow tree, riffle etc etc. The list of waves worth to mention will be too long. Still don't need to tell siargao sucks tho, I do have some respects to people that call it home. Have some respect to your neighbor, sista. You'll be surprised how many siargao surfers back and forth to Bali to surf.

1. Siargao Tourism Office should install native inspire Light Post or you resign at your post. Tourism booming and people paying taxes for every drink they purchases unless established corruption between the business owner and LGU BIR, hopefully not. 2. Allocate area for street food vendors near the bars. Small businesses like street vendors need the support of Siargao LGU. Been there more than 10 times. That's what I noticed
Before the pandemic, my friends and I were in Harana. Around 10% of us were locals and 90% foreigners. We felt like we were not in the Philippines. :) Siargao is a very nice place with an island vibes. Can't wait to retire there.
This is what Subic and Barretto looked like back in the good old days. I’m too old for this anymore, but I’m sure there are quiet places to go too. Love seeing the young people having fun. The world needs more of this!!
I hope there are establishments like a hospital, police station, fire station and an open public park in the area. The LGU should also install enough lightings along the highway and alleys, also they should build pavements to make the area walkable. It would make Siargao more attractive to tourists because of safety, security, and comfort.
Unfortunately. I was told that some of the light poles were knocked down during the super typhoon last year. Hopefully they'll be able to put back the lights soon!

The difference is Bali has it's own right to be so popular with it's so many things to do on the island and their unique and thriving culture. But, indo locals rarely overhyped about their other destinations, they chilled. I bet all surfers in the world know about mentawai islands,(not sure about siargao). They come to the islands instead of boasting and talking about it in UA-cam. Be warned tho, you need to pay USD 70 surfing tax just to surf the islands. Yes, it is that special, do me a favor take a look about the islands, just search it up on UA-cam or Instagram, so you'll have a better understanding for your neighboring country, and please no one in Bali feel the needs to be compared to siargao, could be the other way around. PS: search with keywords about the surfing spots in Bali for better understanding, use "massive uluwatu" or "massive padang-padang" on UA-cam. You'll get to know a reason why is Bali so popular.

Nearly P18 billion is allocated budget for tourism in 2023. I hope Siargao gets good pie of the budget. It's where a lot of tourists go and enjoy. There's so much to improve there like the needed facilities including modern hospital,lights,security,fast internet for the digital nomads,and what not. Most foreign vloggers who had been here considered Siargao as the best and their favourite island in the Philippines. There's something about Siargao that that you can't find in other popular island in the Philippines.
However, if you ask the locals especially the ones from Mindanao, they find Siargao a very common province in the Philippines and I have to agree with them.

There's a lot of cafés in Siargao actually. But directly in front of the beach, not so much. I think majority of the beach fronts are either hotels or restobars.

@rdpacis7822 there's actually an outside lounge i was at in cloud 9 General Luna area of siargao they play live slow guitar music It's called (Pop Up Bar Siargao). It's like a bar/lounge but leaning more towards a lounge given the music that they play. It is very good at night time.
wow, a lot has changed since my last visit last 2013, can't believe this is happening in Siargao, when I was in college, I used to surf a lot here, particularly in cloud 9 and daku, very happy that the tourism is flourshing but also kinda sad that the Siargao I know is already gone.
i have the very same feeling for Palawan/ Puerto Princesa up to Coron. I was there 2010. it was probably the last year before mass tourism start destroying the vibe and places. Nactan beach was a remote and virgin in 2010. there was not a single touristic facility then. instead i saw pigs under the last palm trees along the beach. there was also just a rough road to Port Barton only reachable via jeepney. No van went there. good times. but gone. i'm glad i made my experiences.
@@HerrPorinski Head down the other way away from Puerto Princesa, towards the bottom and opposite the Spratley's (I was near Rizal, but down a goat track out on the coast) Still some good isolated spots down that way.
The government should draw a plan now for the improvements and sustainability of the island,i guess there must be balance between infrastractures and the environment.
About the pricing of alcoholic drinks, yes that’s how the Philippines operates, there’s a SRP(Suggested retail price) and almost all businesses stick to that. You’ll hardly see anyone doing cutthroat pricing or overpricing.

Doesn’t have that chill club beach vibe it used to have or that Bali or Ko Samui currently has. Feels more like nightlife in Manila or Cebu city. That said Siargao is still a wonderful place in the Philippines and it’s good to see tourism starting to thrive again.

@@jermainerodgers I just don't get the hype tho, if it's all about small party club and surfing waves. Lombok blew this island away, easily (sorry). Cloud9 vs Desert point? Come on, give us a break. Beginner surfing beaches? Dare to compare to Lombok's Selong Belanak beach? Intermediate surfing waves? Lombok's ekas, gerupuk and mawi etc. Long boarding? Tanjung aan beach. Still have more tourists tho, the only thing it's lacking is "overhypers" and "ultra-natiolists" because they chilled. Don't even need to mention Bali's racetrack uluwatu or padang-padang and very far from Mentawai's Kandui left, green bush, hollow tree, riffle etc etc. The list of waves worth to mention will be too long. Still don't need to tell siargao sucks tho, I do have some respects to people that call it home. Have some respect to your neighbor, sista. You'll be surprised how many siargao surfers back and forth to Bali to surf.

1. Siargao Tourism Office should install native inspire Light Post or you resign at your post. Tourism booming and people paying taxes for every drink they purchases unless established corruption between the business owner and LGU BIR, hopefully not.
2. Allocate area for street food vendors near the bars. Small businesses like street vendors need the support of Siargao LGU.

This is what Subic and Barretto looked like back in the good old days. I’m too old for this anymore, but I’m sure there are quiet places to go too. Love seeing the young people having fun. The world needs more of this!!
I hope there are establishments like a hospital, police station, fire station and an open public park in the area. The LGU should also install enough lightings along the highway and alleys, also they should build pavements to make the area walkable. It would make Siargao more attractive to tourists because of safety, security, and comfort.

The difference is Bali has it's own right to be so popular with it's so many things to do on the island and their unique and thriving culture. But, indo locals rarely overhyped about their other destinations, they chilled. I bet all surfers in the world know about mentawai islands,(not sure about siargao). They come to the islands instead of boasting and talking about it in UA-cam. Be warned tho, you need to pay USD 70 surfing tax just to surf the islands. Yes, it is that special, do me a favor take a look about the islands, just search it up on UA-cam or Instagram, so you'll have a better understanding for your neighboring country, and please no one in Bali feel the needs to be compared to siargao, could be the other way around. PS: search with keywords about the surfing spots in Bali for better understanding, use "massive uluwatu" or "massive padang-padang" on UA-cam. You'll get to know a reason why is Bali so popular.

Nearly P18 billion is allocated budget for tourism in 2023. I hope Siargao gets good pie of the budget. It's where a lot of tourists go and enjoy. There's so much to improve there like the needed facilities including modern hospital,lights,security,fast internet for the digital nomads,and what not. However, if you ask the locals especially the ones from Mindanao, they find Siargao a very common province in the Philippines and I have to agree with them.

There's a lot of cafés in Siargao actually. But directly in front of the beach, not so much. I think majority of the beach fronts are either hotels or restobars.

@@rdpacis7822 Then you'll love Siargao! The whole island is actually quiet. Few cars, trucks are almost non-existent. Few people (locals and tourists). Just you and the nature. Other parts of Siargao are even quieter than Gen. Luna. Lots of choices here! 😃

It's called (Pop Up Bar Siargao). It's like a bar/lounge but leaning more towards a lounge given the music that they play. It is very good at night time.

wow, a lot has changed since my last visit last 2013, can't believe this is happening in Siargao, when I was in college, I used to surf a lot here, particularly in cloud 9 and daku, very happy that the tourism is flourshing but also kinda sad that the Siargao I know is already gone.
i have the very same feeling for Palawan/ Puerto Princesa up to Coron. I was there 2010. it was probably the last year before mass tourism start destroying the vibe and places. Nactan beach was a remote and virgin in 2010. there was not a single touristic facility then. instead i saw pigs under the last palm trees along the beach. there was also just a rough road to Port Barton only reachable via jeepney. No van went there. good times. but gone. i'm glad i made my experiences.
@@HerrPorinski Head down the other way away from Puerto Princesa, towards the bottom and opposite the Spratley's (I was near Rizal, but down a goat track out on the coast) Still some good isolated spots down that way.

The government should draw a plan now for the improvements and sustainability of the island,i guess there must be balance between infrastractures and the environment.
About the pricing of alcoholic drinks, yes that’s how the Philippines operates, there’s a SRP(Suggested retail price) and almost all businesses stick to that. You’ll hardly see anyone doing cutthroat pricing or overpricing.
